Pearl Forum

Advantages: Great drum build.
Disadvantages: Will need extra spending on it in order to get it up to scratch.

...disgusting sounds resembling baked bean cans being hit. The Pearl Forum I feel is infinitely better than other starter kits on the market and looks fairly smart with it's black coating. Although I say black coating as this is the colour of mine, the Pearl Forum comes in a number of other colours including Deep Blue, Charcoal, and Red Wine. For £500 your money will provide you with: - 22x18 bass drum - 12x9 & 13x10 mounted toms - 16x16 floor tom - 14x5.5 wood snare drum - 14" hi-hats 18" Pearl Crash/Ride cymbal The build quality of the drums themselves is great and they still look as strong now as they did back when I bought them a few years back. Although the build quality of the drums themselves is good, you will find that the Pearl drum skins you are provided with aren't particularly great and so you may find that the heads...

A Non-Internet Forum

Advantages: Lots of different shops, helpful staff
Disadvantages: None

...The Forum is a shopping centre in the middle of Helsinki. It's only a few hundred metres from another shopping centre, Kammpi, which also houses the bus station and a metro stop. You'd think that two large shopping centres might struggle so close together, but both seem to be thriving. The Forum is built on several floors and has what you'd expect of a shopping centre: a lot of shops. Most of them are clothes shops, generally aiming at the teenage/early twenties market. So, like a lot of UK shopping centres in that respect. Wandering round, you'll see a few shops with familiar names. I spotted a H&M in there and the inevitable McDonalds. There are cafes and food shops as well. I had a very nice (only slightly expensive) sandwich from the Fazer café. There is plenty of choice of what to eat, whether you want a stylish sandwich...

The New Look Forum!

Advantages: Great facilities!
Disadvantages: Depends how far you have to travel!

...In General: Years ago, this place was a rundown centre of the town, with hundreds using the facilities every day it wasnt ideal and needed a renervation. Which it gladly received... Looks: It now looks modern with a highly colourful exterior, the modern look doesnt end there. Inside the Forum, local art is shown ina miniture gallery. Making it a nice place to visit when you have a few minutes spare. Facilities: Including a library, Gym, Swimming pool, Walk-in Centre and even a cafe this makes it fully appopriate for all ages. Old and young now use this and it really brings the community together, well as together as it can be! Prices: The prices are really affordable; Gym: £5 a time or £40 a month! including access into the pool, steam room and sauna! Cafe: Although I have never used the cafe i understand that...

Holiday Inn Kensington Forum

Advantages: Near tude station, modern hotel
Disadvantages: Expensive car parking

...I recently visited London for a couple of days (Monday to Wednesday) and rather than sleeping on a friends sofa decided to try out a website I had seen reviewed on Ciao (priceline.co.uk). After trying the site a couple of times to see the variation in price I booked a 4 star hotel in the Kensington area for £41 (plus taxes etc). When the confirmation came through I was informed that the room I had booked was in the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). The only downside to the site is that you don?t know what the hotel is until you have booked it so I was relieved to see that it was part of the Holiday Inn chain and felt confident of having a pleasant stay. ** Background ** The Holiday Inn chain of hotels is...

My Review on the review writers forum!

Advantages: a good place to hang out and meet new people
Disadvantages: needs more participation, site is a little plain

...The review writer's forum is a forum started by quite a popular member of both review sites, ciao and dooyoo. Thingywhatsit - or Rachel, as she is also known- set up the forum in the hope to bring members together to have a laugh, make new friends and basically just create a happy, easy going web space for members of all review sites. But can a forum ever be completely happy? And does the website provide harmless fun or is it just another boring site that people sign up to and never take part? Well, as someone who frequents the site daily, here is my view on Thingywhatsit's online forum. *** The Layout *** When the site first loads you are greeted with a rather plain looking site, though it does contain a nice little logo with a cartoon picture of what I presume to be as Rachel. It's a fun logo with Rachel holding out a drink...

Tis An Art To A Good Wee Forum Doncha Think

Advantages: Tis Good Fun
Disadvantages: Takes Up More of my Time

...Tis An Art To A Good Forum. I have been a member of this forum for over a year now but it's only after I started a forum of my own that I realised how hard it is to keep one going and the effort one has to put into it. ?.. Anyway as most of you will know the Reviewwriters Forum is run by Rachael (Thingywhatsit) and is mainly a writer's site. Most people are usually put of a site by the signing up process but here you just pick a user name (which is usually best being your site name) and give your email address and as soon as you get an email back you are ready to go???. On logging onto the site you can see at the bottom which other members are online at the same time as you and you do have the facility to private message them. You are of course met with a cartoon picture of Rach holding up pens but hey don't let...

C = Craft Queens Forum

Advantages: Fun, friendships.
Disadvantages: Spend too much time there, lol.

...Craft Queens is a forum for Crafters to share their hobbies and form friendships with others from around the world. They accept members any age, from any where in the world. You can be of any experience level in your chosen craft or just a beginner. Some of the Crafts you can find on craft queens are: Cardmaking Scrapbooking ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) Sewing Kniting Paper Crafts Painting Clay Soap/candles Kids crafts (New crafts are added often). The forum is very easy to navigate as each board is titled with a description of what the board discuss's and a simple click takes you to that section. Nothing is too difficult to find on the boards and an excellent FAQ section is very helpful. Also any questions feel free to ask as the very friendly members are always on hand to help out a newbie. The forum is there...

Review of Everything that starts with C ...

Forum and Games

Advantages: Friendly, informal, not just a forum
Disadvantages: Perhaps not a place for serious debate?

...In the last of my trilogy of forum reviews as shall discuss ciaochatting. What is ciaochatting? *********************** Created by Vickyvickster and Mitnik Ciaochatting is a strange one to describe as it incorporates so many things. Is it a forum? Yes .Is it a chatroom? Yes. Is it an arcade? Yes! (dying to say no it's Superman!). Ciaochatting's strengths and weaknesses lie herein, it is neither one thing or another. The Layout of the site ************************ Ciaochatting's layout is colourful and friendly looking. Largely blue, white and yellow it is has a cartoonish quality which is refreshing compared to the more serious pure forums. The emphasis of the site is certainly on fun as you are immediately greeted with a shoutbox were you can say hello or exchange pleasantries (Works much like the public guestbook...

great community spot for everyone

Advantages: lots of different things for different people
Disadvantages: maybe more eatiries for the future would be nice!

...The wythenshawe forum centre has been around for years but it only within the last couple of years(may not even have been that long!) that it has had a refurbishment which it was in dire need of! The forum is a relatively large building that houses a few different things for the use of the local community mainly but is open to everyone. Facilities: library - this was done in the refurb which has seen a complete new look and a smarter image. It has a huge variety of books and audio cds and a up to date collection of dvds to rent out. You can also rent cd's too. There is a good sized childrens section with a few games and squishy chairs etc. They also have acomputer set up for the older children, which, i think is a playstation. Both upstairs and downstairs they have pcs that you can use free of charge if you are a library member...

Want to be a writer? Put this down and write

Advantages: The odd interesting article, ideas for markets.
Disadvantages: Commercial soulless tat.

...In my spare time, I'm a writer. I write short stories and reviews (obviously) with the occasional attempt at a novel. As well as various comedy pieces and poems as the mood takes me. As I write to be read, I'm always looking out for publishing opportunities, competitions and things. And so it is that about three times a year I make the time-honoured mistake of picking up a copy of Writer's Forum from Smiths. The format is set in stone. A picture of a (usually) female writer on the front, generally with a smaller photo of another writer who's just won their first publishing contract. Promises of fantastic competitions and awesome publishing opportunities are emblazoned across the cover, as well as tantilising strap lines like: 'Inside: How to get a literary agent' or 'Where to find a grant'. To the struggling writer, this is...
