Four parents, one Christmas

Advantages: Brilliant main actors, great storyline, fun festive film
Disadvantages: Lack of chemistry between Vaughn and Witherspoon, most of comedy in trailers, got a bit silly

...Brad and Kate are a happily in love couple who enjoy having fun without the responsibilities of marriage or children. For three years they've successfully managed to dodge the unwelcome Christmas season usually spent with family and have jetted off to many exotic locations. Advantages: Excellent Comedy, Great Cast, Good story

Four Bothers

Advantages: Some good stunt sequences
Disadvantages: Terrible acting, writing and direction

"Four Brothers" may be the nadir of John Singleton's career, showing none of the visual flair or love of storytelling that characterised his first film. It is a travesty of writing, acting and direction that feels like a sordid glorification of brutality in the guise of justice. I felt like my intelligence was being insulted as I watched it - are audiences really stupid enough to believe that the characters are justified in their actions? Sadly the box office returns suggest so. As does the fact the viewers are willing to sit through nearly two hours of overblown yet undercooked action. Fantastic Four

Advantages: good action film, special effects
Disadvantages: purists maybe upset

...Four (Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing) are born, as well as new arch villain Dr Doom. Initially I had been told lots of bad things about the Fantastic 4 film. That it was not worth seeing. That it was a lemon of a film, and that it was not a true depiction of the Fantastic Four characters from the comics. The last of these reasons (to me) would not be very high on my reasons for not seeing the film as I had not read any of the comics and so I didn't know the true story of the characters, also this was a theatrical release and so would probably upset the purists anyway no matter how it was done. However I was still not completely confident when I inserted the disk. But how did it fair? Four Families, One Christmas, Hectic!!

Advantages: Funny, Good Cast, Christmasy!!
Disadvantages: Could of been better

...As soon as I saw Four Christmases Advertised I had to see it. Vince Vaughn and Reece Witherspoon make numerous appearances in my dvd collection so I knew more than likely i would probably love this film. The trailer looked great, like a great Christmas Comedy, perfect to put me in the Xmas Mood!! The Film is about a couple, Brad (Vince Vaughan) and Kate (Reece Witherspoon), the pair are happy, what some would say,the perfect couple. They aren't married and have no kids, their relationship is good and fun times. They've been together 3 years but it seems its very much a honey moon period and its going to continue that way. The couple gave up family Christmases when they got together, instead they tell their families a white lie about them doing Charity work abroad, when they head off for a stress free holiday every year...

Advantages: Great simple game for all ages

...After noughts and crosses I suppose that someone had to come up with the idea of Connect Four and a good idea it is too. In both cases you have to line up the required number of symbols either, horizontally, vertically or diagonally. In noughts and crosses it is three symbols and the game is played on paper whilst in Connect Four it is four symbols or coloured disks and the game is played in a special frame. The upright standing frame has 6 columns into which will fit 7 of the provided disks on top of each other end on. Thus with a full column you will see seven coloured circles. 21 of the disks are in red and the other 21 are in yellow and each of two players selects their choice of colour. Advantages: Great breakfast
Disadvantages: Out of the way location

The Irish Student Trampoline Open, following a spell in Cork, was back in Dublin this year, and we went along for 4 days of bouncing, drinking and site-seeing. Our home for the trip was Four Courts Hostel. I don't really like hostels that much, but I can tolerate them when travelling in a group, and when someone else is paying. However even then, there are a few things I need a hostel to have in order for me to rate it highly. These include a decent location, safe storage facilities, reasonably equipped rooms and a few facilities. I'm not going to compare Four Courts with full service hotels, because that is unfair, but I will compare it with the other hostels I have stayed in, particularly those in Dublin.
