Four Points, none of them good points!

Advantages: You're only visiting...remember!
Disadvantages: Dirty, unkept, unhelpful staff, dodgy kitchen workers.

...Three words to describe this hotel, "Oh my God!!" Want more? OK, here we go, My wife & I went to the Four Points Miami Beach for a few nights post cruise. After having an exceptional holiday on the Freedom of the Seas we found ourselves "dumped" in the hotel from hell. Upon arriving at around 9am we were told our room wasn't ready as it was still occupied. We did book the hotel 10 months in advance so we didn't expect that. We had to leave our luggage in a little storage room and find something to do so we went to have a look around outside. At the back of the hotel is Miami Beach just beyond a boardwalk. Nice as it looked, there was no one around to deal with deck chairs and parasols. It doesn't matter anyway because our room wasn't available to get changed into suitable clothing. To the right of the hotel was a building site...

Four Points by Sheraton Elysee Palace, Nice

Advantages: clean and comfortable
Disadvantages: bar is expensive

...We stayed at this hotel for a short easter break earlier this year. Having booked the room for three nights through a cheap last minute holiday website including flights, it turned out to be very good value for money. The hotel itself is well worth the four-star rating. The bedroom and ensuite were both spacious, well-equippped and clean. Furthermore, it was cleaned every day while we were out. The hotel staff were very helpful. I only speak a little bit of French, but this was no problem as they all spoke fluent English, which was welcoming and a relief. Be warned though, as is common in the rest of Nice, the prices in the bar were very high- I paid six euros for a small pinapple juice there, which as nice as the bar is, and as good as the service was, is, I think, a little excessive. Nevertheless, a good stay, and would go there again....

Four Points Dresden

Advantages: Very clean, great service
Disadvantages: A little way out of the main tourist area

Location The only difficulty we had was with the location of the hotel, we should have looked into this before arriving in Dresden to make sure we knew where we were going as we were using public transport, and the hotel was out of the main city centre. Sharing my experience of the Sheraton Roma

Advantages: Comfortable hotel - handy for the metro
Disadvantages: Characterless - can be expensive

...to the very end and turn left at the sign that says 'Sheraton Hotel' (you can see it from the road anyway). It's a big, modern(ish) hotel with absolutely no redeeming features architecturally but all hotels look much the same when you're out cold at 4 a.m. I find. We parked up and entered the foyer to check-in fighting off the bellhops vying to carry our luggage for us. 'Looking for a tip?' says I, 'Ciao Baby in the 3.30 at Kempton is worth a fiver each way.' It didn't take too long to check in but since we had pre-booked and pre-paid it shouldn't really have taken any time at all. In fact it was around 10 minutes while they looked to find a room for us...must be some amazing database that they use. The reception area was pretty much what you'd expect in a Sheraton - glitzy and shiny with lots of leather sofas dotted around...

Super Stay at Sea Shore Sheraton

Advantages: Good location, Friendly staff, Great room, Ocean view was wonderful
Disadvantages: Expensive!

...a central, convenient location - that said, we still had a budget that we needed to stick to if we wanted to be able to afford such trifles as food when we got there. Our choice, after a good deal of consideration, was the Sheraton Waikiki. Why? Well, the information we had showed it to be a "superior 4 star" hotel (which ticked the "good enough for honeymoon" box) positioned in the heart of Waikiki between the main avenue and the ocean (putting it in an excellent location), and it was within our budget (so we could still afford to eat). Better still, I had stayed in a Sheraton hotel previously and found it to be a very positive experience and the generally good reviews we found on a selection of websites confirmed that this seemed a good choice. The Sheraton Waikiki is one of the major resort hotels in Hawaii, and one of two Sheraton hotels...

Advantages: Excellent location, wonderful staff, extensive breakfast, low prices available
Disadvantages: High rack rates, still 2 stops away from the centre

...suppose the check in detail switch would ever happen normally, and I doubt a chain such as the Sheraton would dare disregard the data protection act for fear of what it would do to their reputation. Relax at the Sheraton in the Midst of the Disney Madness

Advantages: Huge apartments, great pool and perfect location.
Disadvantages: Not cheap!

...We have been lucky enough to visit Orlando several times and by far and away the best place we have found to stay is Sheraton Vistana Villages. Location This hotel is situated on the Southern end of International Drive. It is a set south of the attractions and restaurants which make International drive very busy so it is much quieter than many hotels. I-drive is easily accesible in about 5-8 minutes by car, there is also a stop for the I-drive trolley bus outside the hotel. Seaworld is about 5 minutes dive away, Universal studios area is about 20 minutes north and Disneyland entrance is less than 10 minutes south. The roads are easy and there are no tolls. There is a Publix supermarket about 3 mins drive away. The journey from the International airport takes about 25 minutes and the property is easy to find. Rooms...

Four Points LAX Airport

Advantages: Nice quiet hotel, whcih didnot suffer from Airport noise
Disadvantages: Only good for airport stopovers, or business in the surrounding areas

...First of all I will say that the hotel Im writing about, is a mile and a half from Los Angeles International airport. I do know that Four points have other properies in the LA area. I would say that this hotel is a nice Four star hotel, the lobby is spacious, well lit and very clean. I was impressed by the check in service nothing to fill in except to sign your name and give them a look at your passport. I hope they didnot laugh too much at my photo!!! The Bell boy was friendly and told us about when breakfast was served, and the main facilities that the hotel had to offer, which saved a lot of time finding it about for myself. The bottom grade of room at this hotel was a deluxe room.Our room was mid sized with two queen beds. It was en suite bathroom which was again modern in marble with a bath. The bedroom was very clean...

Advantages: It plays films well with good quality of sound and picture, it has a big enough screen aswell.
Disadvantages: it occasionally it freezes, you can only get your films from itunes

Fantastic Four

Advantages: good action film, special effects
Disadvantages: purists maybe upset

...Four (Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing) are born, as well as new arch villain Dr Doom. Initially I had been told lots of bad things about the Fantastic 4 film. That it was not worth seeing. That it was a lemon of a film, and that it was not a true depiction of the Fantastic Four characters from the comics. The last of these reasons (to me) would not be very high on my reasons for not seeing the film as I had not read any of the comics and so I didn't know the true story of the characters, also this was a theatrical release and so would probably upset the purists anyway no matter how it was done. However I was still not completely confident when I inserted the disk. But how did it fair? I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the film and the different "take" it had on the other superhero films I have...
