...I have had my Hercules 9800xt for 9 months and I Cant really fault it although realistically now only as good in doom 3 as the Nvidia 5900 ultra. It still spits out over 50 fps on doom3 (no mean feat). Mine came with a half life 2 voucher . They can be picked up new on for £200 or second hand on auction sites for £120 to £180 Right on to my pc and rig which is what i used at the time pentium 4 3ghz @ 3.3ghz 1024 megs of corsair low latency pc3200 asus p4p800deluxe motherboard and Hercules 9800xt classic Now gaming quality and playability is judged on fps Frames per second (the higher the fps the better and smoother your gaming experience is) Anyway I usually use some benchmarking tools for this like 3D mark 2001.SE my best score with the hercules overclcoked in 3dmark2001 is as follows 3DMark Score 18968 RESULTS 3... ...I was struggling for performance, and I needed to improve the graphic, I had a very bad FPS on all games, and even then the quality was set on the lowest, so i saved up and bought my self a Voodoo 3 3000 card, and it is brilliant, I am now getting about 4-5 times the FPS I was getting before, and the resolution was much better, I can run all games on 1024*928 with a reasonable FPS, there are no problems with this crad that I can find, just that if you have an onboard graphics card then ensure that you disable this properly, if you don't disable it you will not be able to use your nice High Performance card, and trust me, it is well worth the money, if you have a spare £150 get this as your next addon, it is very cheap, and comes with some very good instructions.... ...Before purchasing this card, I was using a dreadful ATi Xpress 200, terrible card, could hardly run any of my games at a decent level, after getting this card, I could run most of my games at all settings full. I'm not going to mention any of the technical stuff, because firstly, it's already been done, secondly, you don't care about it. This card will allow you to run a number of the newest games at at least 30 fps at higher settings, there are other factors that come into play such as RAM and your CPU speed, but let's say for arguments sake your using my very bad rig, a P4 and 512MB of RAM. I can run FEAR at 30-60 FPS with all settings high, I can run Counter Strike Source at 60-90 FPS with all settings high, I can run Half-Life Lost Coast with all settings high at 45-80 FPS, I can run Doom 3 with all settings high with 60-80 FPS... ...I have only been playing PC games for 1 year now, and i was amaized Rainbow 6 which was the first FPS style game i had bought and played on the PC. Since then i have played a number of different FPS games and they are now my fave types of games. Until Soldider Of Fortune came out my fave was Kingpin. But now Soldier Of Fortune is in my opinion one of the best FPS games out for the PC. You need to work you way through the game in varius locations saving hostages from getting killed stopping the gangsers people form destrying places. You have a selection of excellent weapons to use, the pistol, Shotgun, Sniper Rifel, Rocket Launcher, Electric Gun, Slugthrower, Flamethrower, Machine gun, plus you items such as Grenades and C4. It is the type of game that once you finish it you think one last time, but end up playing it over and over... Read review

...I bought this card about 6 months ago, and although it has recently been priced out of the market slightly by the 512mb which uses the new core architecture, it is still a great card and you can potentially save £30 over the newer model. The 512mb version with the new core is only going to give you about an extra 5 FPS, maybe a little more, maybe a little less depending on the game. For nstance crysis will be much the same due to the way it has been designed, where you will get a those extra few FPS in something like COD4. The release of the lower memory cards at around £200, enables gamers to get the most of games, and unless you are running resolutions higher than 1600 x 1200 there is no need to spend a lot of money on cards with lots of RAM. ...Another typical camera by Canon. The 30D comes as an upgrade from the very successful 20D. Owning this DSLR I can only say that you can feel the quality. As well as being ergonomic the button layout is perfect. On other moddles some buttons are to small the press especially with gloves on. Picture quality is excellent colours are replicated well from natural skin tones to the vivid colours of the camera. A chose this camera as my first DSLR as it has an attractive frame rate 5fps. You may think that shooting at this speed requires a high shutter speed. Well you were right to get 5fps you will have to be shooting at 1/4000 sec although 4fps is a more realistic speed for average shooting. ...Half Life 2 takes up years after Half Life 1 whitch i believe was the best fps ever made .You take up the role of gordon freeman again in this all out action fps title. Most of the levels are very well done and the story is good but not as good as half life 1 .The levels give you a sense of pursuit and hurtles you forward so quickly that you don't have much time to admire the cutting-edge graphical prowess on display , The graphics are the best around when this game was made . you'll battle your way forward against all manner of enemies.and the environments in the game and are simply stunning, from the plazas and streets of City 17 to the rusted interiors of an abandoned factory. ...Although this graphics card is fairly run of the mill compared to the ultra fast Ge-Force and Voodoo cards that are coming out it still does a good job of rendering on any game. The graphics within Windows itself are sharp and within any 3dfx game are very respectable especially at a high resolution I currently have the above card and the graphics within all games are very very respectable - admitably they aint as good as the newer cards coming out at the moment but for the money they are a good investment. On games such as Unreal , Quake I get a very respectable 52 fps, the new GEFORCE cards are capable of around 70fps.... Read review

...With the release of the gf3, this is a top card for anyone who is on a budget. I upgraded from a v3 to this card and quite frankly the increase in fps was a shock. Clocking up 300fps in q3 with only 256 ram and an 800 duron, this was super smooth and silky. The card was easy to install, even with the existence of an older card hanging about. The drivers on the cd will get you started and updated drivers are fairly small and easy to apply. The total process took 10 mins to do even with a pig of a case to install in like mine. It has overclocking options and guidelines included in teh software. The technical support online is so good that you will probably not even have to phone them. There are forums and reviews aplenty online and this card should lay to rest any doubts you were having over what to upgrade to next.... Read review
