Frankfurt in the middle of nowhere airport

Advantages: Fast and efficient with lots of cheap connections
Disadvantages: Silly location, might as well put it in Luxembourg

Frankfurt Hahn accepts all the budget traffic for Franfkurt but it's also one of the cheapest and well-connected budget airlines in Germany, so it sees people from all over the country heading there. I flew in from Warsaw on a very cold morning, the weather was around -20 when leaving Poland and it took a while to de-ice the plane. Having not slept the night before (decided to stay up and head to the airport a few hours early in order not to wake anyone), my friend and I were ready for some kip on the plane. That wasn't going to be though, as a pedantic gay cabin crew member called Konrad pranced up and down the aisle bothering people who just wanted to sleep! Frankfurt Airport - big, but not great

Advantages: all kinds of facilities you can possibly think of
Disadvantages: bad signposting, overcrowded, few shops in duty free area, minimum transit unrealistic

On the other HAHN, it's not Frankfurt

Advantages: Friendly, clean and efficient
Disadvantages: The name might be misleading

...I've flown to FRANKFURT-HAHN airport many, many times. Do I choose this airport because it is one of the most efficiently-run facilities of its kind? Maybe Hahn is the tourist destination to die for or the business capital of Western Europe? Perhaps it is conveniently located as a hub for travel further afield, or set amidst spectacular scenery? Not a bit of it. It's far more mercenary than that. I usually end up flying to FRANKFURT-HAHN because those nice people at Ryanair will take me there for practically nothing. The last 3-4 times I've flown there, it has cost me 1p each way (plus taxes which are just under £20 return). Ah, typical mean Scotsman eh? - Could be. Review of Frankfurt Hahn

Best Western Plaza Hotel, Frankfurt

Advantages: Central and reasonably priced
Disadvantages: far too much choice at breakfast.

...We stayed in The Best Western Frankfurt Plaza in July 2006 as part of our fabulous summer holiday in Austria and Germany. Not having booked any of the trip I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel in Frankfurt. I was even more pleased due to the rather grotty hostel we had just frequented in Innsbruck, Austria. Anything would have been better than that! Review coming soon. The hotel is a three star and has forty five rooms all easily accessible by a lift in the main reception. *~*~Location*~*~ The plaza is located on Esslinger Strasse which is about a ten minute walk from hauptbanhof - the main train station in Frankfurt. There is a tourist information kiosk in the station where you can get a map of the city and locate the hotel. I have added picture below of a map of the city centre with the hotels location on it...

Frankfurt am Main restaurants not expensive

Advantages: "Restaurants: unhurried, relaxing, inexpensive, historical, even medievial" .... "Where?" ... "In Frankfurt am Main." .... "Never ! who do you take me for, save your stupid jokes for someone else !"
Disadvantages: "Are you kidding? This can`t be !... Frankfurt is a financial center, trade fare, traffic focus, airport and business place. Nix da medievial !! "

...Frankfurt am Main (660.000 inhabitants) is not known for being a definite tourist attraction like Vienna or Munich. Frankfurt is often regarded in Germany only as a business centre and transit focus. It could be more for the visitior: e.g. modern playful architecture, history, museums, art, festivals and cultural events. The "expensive" reputation of Frankfurt one can get just on first sight. Because of the big events with thousands of people attending like "Museums-Ufer-Fest" with a 0,2 l coke costing more than 3.00 Euro. But there we won't go ... Restaurants in Frankfurt are mostly quite good in value. Passenger to Frankfurt

Advantages: Short
Disadvantages: Untypical Christie

...I've said it before and I'll probably say it again but I think you can generally separate out Agatha Christie's novels into two very broad categories. There's the more well-known comfy English murder whodunit with a cast of the retired major, the beautiful heiress and of course the butler. Then on the other hand she has also written several books that try to deal with the more challenging subject of international spy rings, global empires and evil masterminds trying to take over the world. Probably like a lot of her fans, I tend to favour the first type of book feeling that this is what she does the best, whereas her more complex thrillers seem half baked, under-researched and sometimes terribly ridiculous. Alas "Passenger from Frankfurt" falls into the second category all too well and comes over as a real mixture of unplanned ideas...

...It is the Frankfurt Airport in Germany. After browsing at others' review, i believe i was in terminal 1 when i am being transferred to another plane to Italy. The waiting time is about three hours. Wow, it is so hard to spend the three hours in Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1. I was there during late July. It was dark, under-air-conditioned, old & untidy bathrooms, no internet access, even if you are willing to pay, so boring! The area is hot and dark, visitors do not have the mood to shop. The goods of the shops are ok, they are selling a lot of ethnic german stuff. The waiting area is untidy too. You see trash lying around and was not sure if it is really an international airport. oh, it's just not a pleasant place. The only thing that is good about it is the free airport map poster. When it opens up, it is a large pilot navigation...

Frankfurt am Main - Worth a visit

Advantages: Culture, fun and party
Disadvantages: Quite busy and could be cleaner

Mainhattan and its skyscrapers This is the unofficial name for Frankfurt in Hessen with its ca. 630.000 inhabitants. It obviously refers to Manhattan being famous for its skyscrapers. Just like Frankfurt. And the Main is one of Germanys biggest river crossing Frankfurt. That is how the name was created. Frankfurt belongs to the towns with the highest building in Europe which are all located in the area of the city centre. For example the "Messeturm" (trade fair tower) with its 259 m is the highest building in Europe. And you have a great view over the town standing on such a skyscraper when the sun goes down?. The Movenpick Hotel, Frankfurt (Oberursel).

Advantages: Quality Medium Size Friendly Hotel some 20 miles from Frankfurt City centre in the vicinity of Oberursel, Hessen.
Disadvantages: Distance from Frankfurt City though S-Bahn and U-Bahn connections are within short distance.

...Have visited this Hotel on more than one occasion as a non-resident and also stayed for a few days as a resident. The Hotel is located circa 20 miles from Frankfurt City and is easily reached by autobahn and other roads from the City and also the Flughafen. There are local stations for the S-Bahn and the U-Bahn a modest walking distance from the hotel providing half hourly train service to Frankfurt, Hauptbahnof and other main City points. Travelling time varies according to destination but 25/30 minutes would be likely to the City centre and main station. The S-Bahn line S5 connects at the Main Station with lines S8 and S9 providing fast connection direct into the Airport internal station with an overall journey time of approx 40 minutes.
