House of Fraser Guildford

...House of Fraser, or Army and Navy as it was previously known, has bought business and people to Guildford for many years now. But why is it that people keep coming back? What is it about the House of Fraser experience that keeps luring them back to the store? My nearest House of Fraser has been shut for about nine months. But, after huge rennovation, it has now re-opened it's doors and it's stunning. It has marble floors, glass bannisters, chrome escalators... the list goes on - it's a nice modern building. House of Fraser - House of Hell

Advantages: Good coffee bar....
Disadvantages: Rude staff, over priced products, poor layout

...I went into the GlasgowHouse of Fraser this weekend after being given £100 worth of vouchers. I had been into the store on a couple of previous occassions but each time, I had the feeling that I wasn't good enough to shop there and that I didn't belong. When you start to worry that a bouncer won't admit you because you aren't wearing the right shoes or if your hair isn't combed just right, or god forbid your toddler isn't wearing clearly visible designer labels, you know it isn't going to be an enjoyable shopping experience. I decided to have a look for some shorts and t-shirt for my son since the sun was shining (Being Glasgow I hadn't anticipated the heat wave we had). Thumbs Up for Fraser!!

Advantages: Everything! So much to see and do
Disadvantages: Dingos and sharks.

...Fraser Island is a beautiful island off Queenslands coast. If you're planning on driving you'll need a 4 wheel drive though as it is a sand island. You are able to camp behind the sand dunes for a small fee, and this is an experience that will be remembered. If this isn't your style, there are also various resorts and hotels offering different types of accommodation. There's lots of local wildlife to see, such as the dingos, which at times can be a little too friendly (make sure if you're camping you lock any food away, and bins or the dingos will help themselves). There are some great inland lakes and streams that run out to the ocean which simply must be see. Fraser Island 4WD Bus Day Tour

Advantages: beautiful
Disadvantages: TOURISTY! Crowded

...Fraser Island is one of those "must do" things for backpackers when travelling the East Coast of Australia! It is the largest sand island in the world, home to wild dingos (wild dogs for those a little mystified!), can only be reached by boat from the mainland, has no sealed roads so is only attainable by 4WD vehicles and is covered in beautiful scenery. I went on a day tour from Hervey Bay which is where most tours will leave from. I got picked up from right outside my hoste although they were about 15minutes late and I thought I had been forgotten for a little while there! 'Jail' House of Fraser more like.

Disadvantages: Annoying Security Guards, visually off putting

...House of Fraser could be such a good department store but there is a number of annoying things about it, all of which I think could be sorted. I am referring to only one store, the Milton Keynes branch, as I have not yet visited others. The problems are that firstly and the most annoying is if you enter the store in a group of more than two and you are all youngish in age at least one security guard will follow you, quite obviously, around the store. It feels like being in jail and usually makes use leave straight away. I do not understand why this happens here yet at other department stores like John Lewis for example, everything is fine. I know that they both have CCTV in place. Does House of Fraser just not use theirs? A second problem is a lot of the staff seem to be up themselves as though they have landed a top job yet...

Gateway hostel to the AMAZING Fraser Island!!

Advantages: Great Deals on 4 x 4 trips to fraser island **A Must See!!**
Disadvantages: Not too much nearby - 3 nights is about right

...On my recent trip to Australia we stopped off in Hervey Bay after a not so good time in Rainbow beach (2hrs south of Hervey). We decided to stay for only two nights in the Fraser Escape hostel as we were eager to get out to fraser island. We were picked up from the Greyhound bus by a friendly guy from the hostel who took some of us for a small tour of Hervey Bay on the way to the hostel. After a short drive we all arrived and i was a bit dubious about the location, but it wasnt too bad actually. It took only ten minutes to walk to the beach and there was a cheap little place to eat next door. As for the Dorm rooms im not too sure but was told they were average as everyone had came to expect from their travels. We stayed in a Double room for $50 a night between 2 so this worked out to be about £11 each night which wasnt too bad...

Fraser smiles & shows his muscles a lot

Disadvantages: It offered no new ideas for this great story by Verne

...Take Brendan Fraser who isn't a very good actor (he's probably only getting this gig off his performances in the early Mummy movies), steal every good idea from the old James Mason version of this movie, add in an annoying child (because every movie involving Dinosaurs needs an annoying child to put in peril) add in a rather sassy female Icelandic Mountain Guide and when you throw 3D into the equation you have this rather poor excuse for a film. For an action movie its rather dull and uncompelling with little in the way of danger or peril, if its a kids movie there aren't enough dinosaurs (but the annoying emo teen nephew does solve the Vernian puzzle in the book) & its rather predictable (especially if you've either read the book or seen the James Mason version) so it offers no surprises or scares that you won't be expecting.
