...Before I write this review, I should in advacne apologise to those who read the Daily Mail everyday as their paper of choice, this is not a reflection on you or how you see the world, but more how I view it. I am sure that deep down those that choose to read this paper have some great qualities. There are a few things in life that I am loathed to admit to, yet I think it is time that I cam eout of the closet and admitted that yes.... I do *gulp* read the Daily Mail online everyday. Now to some of you no doubt this will not be shocking, it is after all a very popular newspaper in the UK and one read by millions of people up and down the country, but I consider myself a 'bit of a lefty' I love the European Union and a Federalist State, I hate pounds and ounces..preferring Kilograms and grams, I think 100 watt lightbulbs are a bad idea...

The Daily Mail

Advantages: Well laid out, easy to read
Disadvantages: More pricey than other leading tabloids

...is very royalist, and proud of the Royal Family, playing up on their good points and dismissing the bad points. The Mail's right wing views always add an exciting touch to political stories! There are many sections and extras to the Daily Mail, including "Femail" - beauty and fashion for women; "Coffee Break" - quizzes, puzzles, horoscopes and letters, "Weekend" magazine - Saturday supplement - 4 or 5 big articles, TV listings, film reviews etc. There are also TV listings in each daily issue, not including Saturday or Sunday. On Fridays, the Mail includes book, film and music reviews. The Mail on Sunday has an insert as well, similar to the "Weekend" magazine, but glossier and with more articles. The MoS also includes "Popworld" magazine, for the younger ones - a free magazine about pop music and young people's issues. At least...

Free spam with every e-mail

Advantages: free good address names
Disadvantages: spam spam spam it is not wonderful

...I have been with this site for over three years. Every day I have received 20 spam; e-mail into my inbox. These have been mostly from Nigeria asking for help to reclaim monies lost in power struggles never reply too them they are a racket. I tried to delete my account but could not once set up it can not be deleted. Recently I received an e-mail from America telling me my credit card had been debited hundreds of dollars by some one whom bought a camera in the US. If I wanted the sale cancelled I needed to input my credit card details onto the computer! This is another scam never reply. The more obvious it is the more you should be wary. The features of this email site included advertising pop ups when you look at your e mails right in your face stuff all very annoying then; if like me advertising holds no interest to you...

'Free' offers from the Mail

Advantages: Some offers if you want to pay postage
Disadvantages: Not free as advertised

...I am sick and tired of the mail, (which, by the way, is a paper that I enjoy) advertising so-called free offers, only to find out that i have to send off and pay a small fortune in postage. Recently there has been a spatge of 'free' plant offers which seem to me to be a thinly disguised advertising ploy by Thompson and Morgan. The same applies to their recent 'everyone's a winner'. If I had sent off for the iron cast toy, plants etc that were free, I would have spent over £10 in postage. Not very free in my book. I wish that they would stick to the offers such as the free magazines, which really are free. Other than this, it's a great paper....

The Royal Mail is heading for a fall!

Advantages: ok for non-urgent, non-valuable mail
Disadvantages: shocking customer focus

...I've known many lovely dedicated postpeople over the years, and I hope no-one will take personal offence at this, but I'm really angry, and £11.08 out of pocket so I will have my say! I was given a card by my postman this morning, buried amongst other letters - presumably so I didn't hold him up by querying it. It said that some-one had failed to put the correct postage on a letter, and since £1.08 was outstanding, I could a - Go online, pay and arrange delivery - I spent 15 minutes registering myself on the Royal Mail website and entering my card details, only to discover that the postman hadn't bothered to write on a reference number. If I wanted the letter delivered, I would have to wait in and provide ID. Its ADDRESSED to ME, for goodness sake! b. - Go out and buy £1.08 worth of stamps, attach them to the card, post it...

Advantages: Huge Storage, Searchable
Disadvantages: People not on Gmail don't like big threads of mail

They now have a new logo, GoogleMAIL and the whole site has the same look and feel as the normal Google search engine. I applied for my account before this, and I have noticed that my reply to address has been changed to Googlemail now. I invited two friends from America recently, and they both got the name@gmail addresses still. When Google was launched the main idea was that it would be a kind of lifetime email account, and it re-wrote the rule book for how much storage you could have with web-based email providers, for example Hotmail, which is probably the world's biggest email company (or maybe AOL). Hotmail now allow 250mb of storage for free, but my current limit with Googlemail is more than ten times that. I am not even registering 1% yet, whereas...

...As I’m all sure you know (if you have read my previous op on the Daily Telegraph), until recently I read the Daily Telegraph. However I found a problem with the best selling quality broadsheet in the country, and that was, that it was a broadsheet, it was just to darn big for cornflakes. So on happy sunny day whilst picking up my paper, I decided to opt for another, this later caused problems as before I was such an enthusiast of the Telegraph that the shop owner thought that he had sold out, and apologised profusely. So as I cast my eye upon the selection of newspapers, a picture happened to catch my eye, however as current international news issues are not really part of the Daily Sports criteria, I had to put it back, and opt for the Daily Mail instead. A posties view on Royal Mail!!!

Advantages: Deliver to most Destinations in uk the next day (if first class)
Disadvantages: Some mail lost or tampered with!!!

Incorrect postage paid means the item will be surcharged at the recievers end to collect the difference in postage and a £1 handling fee put on by Royal Mail. -Secure wrap and seal your items so that they are less likely to get damaged. -Do not send money through the post and if you have to use the Special Delivery service. - Address your items correctly and put postcode on. Insufficent addresses can cause a delay in your item being delivered or see your item not delivered at all. - Finally always put a return address on the back of your mail. This then makes sure that if the person you are sending the mail does not recieve it then you will at least get it back. Feel free to ask questions i will do my best to help!!!! Gmail - A fantastic e-mail host!

Advantages: Lots of space, great spam filter.
Disadvantages: None

...useful for a couple of my friends. Gmail has quite an intelligent spam feature which works by e-mail address, blocked users list, keywords etc and I find that I scarcely ever receive any spam in my main Inbox and I trust it so much now that i just trash my junk e-mails without really checking through. E-mails will stay for 30 days anyway so you can always do a search for something if you're awaiting an e-mail and it's not arrived. Overall I find gmail the best e-mail host I've ever used, I can keep all of my e-mails nice and organised, the spam feature is fantastic, I can chat with my friends and there never seems to be any downtime or problems with receiving e-mails. I believe that anybody can just join up now without an invite, however, if anybody does require an invite feel free to send me a message and I'll refer you....
