EXTEND YOUR MEMORY CAPACITY.
Review of Freecom Classic Mobile 2.5" Hard Drive USB-2 120 GB by  apatra

Advantages: GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND PORTABLE.
Disadvantages: NOT THAT KNOWN.

...that a computer system has. Some old systems has USB1 while most modern computers has USB2 which is faster in response. You are also advised to check the USB speed with the freecom drive. There is some way in which you can know on whether the system has USB 2 and the way is through the windows control panel. So this is the only part that you might get a bit troubled as a new user but should not be a dilemma to you. In terms of selling places, I bought mine at Amazon .uk at a good value for money. In terms of price, I bought mine at the price of £49.86, and that is of good value for money. I hope you found my review quite helpful. So won't expect any problem from using it. And on the over all view about the freecom classic storage device, it is very easy to install and use. Bye.... Read review

THE MEMORY DEVICE.
Review of Freecom Classic Mobile 2.5" Hard Drive USB-2 120 GB by  packerlist

Advantages: portable and free spaces
Disadvantages: LOW IN PROFILE.

...OF USE. The freecom classic is a storage device that does not require much technique for installation and use. Does not need any driver and it is recognized by modern operating system just like any other removable drive or the flash drive and normally assess through the normal method of my computer and file manager explorer. The file opens and you are enabled to operate just like any other hard drive. There are ways to know whether the USB has two and it is through the windows control panel. The USB has some complicating feature for example; some computers have only USB one and others have 2 but the ones that have two are faster in response. The freecom classic is a device that has the same similarities with other removable storage device just like I wrote above and you are also required to take some precautions while in use... Portable storage with no limits.
Review of Freecom Classic Mobile 2.5" Hard Drive USB-2 120 GB by  Mr_Gamgee

Advantages: Small, easy to use, upgradable, decently priced
Disadvantages: Check - You may need 2 USB ports

...I bought one of these devices a couple of years ago and it worked excellently. I was very satisfied with the ease of use - you simply plug in the wires and away you go. No need for driver installation etc (on modern operating systems). I used it for over a year for photography and general backup with no problems at all. Essentially, the Freecom device is simply a laptop drive in a little black box. This is good because laptop hard drives are built with portability in mind. So when I wanted to upgrade the hard drive in my laptop the Freecom was easily unscrewed and upgraded too (bear in mind mine was out of warranty at this stage). ----- First Impressions ----- First impressions were good. To have all that storage space in something small and portable was great. The unit is made of metal so has a decent feel to it although I'd never... Read review

Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 500 GB by  sghawken

Advantages: Easy to install, easy to operate
Disadvantages: Power plug is a bit bulky if using extention lead.

...Having filled my PC memory with my databases, photo’s, hard copies of website content, and more recently using my PC as a media centre, the storage of 260GB which I once considered to be quite big disappeared. On a completely unrelated visit in search of ink I found myself in PC world, where they had the Freecom 400GB hard drives on special, but ironically enough the Freecom 500GB hard drives which were not on special were actually only £1 more expensive. Realising I had seen a good deal I picked it up. Upon opening the box you are confronted with a fair bit of padding, and a small box that transpired to be the hard drive, power cable (if plugging into an extention lead this bulky plug can partially cover the holes of adjoing sockets), a small piece of paper that constituted the instructions and a USB cable. It was not rocket science... Read review

Freecom...or Expensive con?
Review of Freecom Classic Hard drive 250 GB by  Cyber-Mark

Advantages: Small footprint, USB connectivity, good capacity, quiet
Disadvantages: All the above completely let down by the units reliability

...Please take a few seconds to rate this at the end - it helps me know if its meaningful or not and I can improve accordingly Ok... Its big...its black...it hums quietly in the corner. Oh..and its made by Freecom - a manufacturer I previously thought was pretty reliable (I have their dual layer portable DVD re-writer as well). This drive is billed as being rugged and portable - after all that is the whole point of external portable drives, isnt it? When I got the unit, it was twice as big in capacity as the HDD in my tower PC, so I immediately throught - backup. It didnt come with any back-up soft ware though, which I think is a glaring omission. No matter, I thought, I will back up my photos (10,000+), music (14,000 tracks), etc into folders I create myself. Connection simply means attaching the power cable to a free socket... Read review

Classic but modern.
Review of Freecom Classic SL 320 GB by  johnsy32

Advantages: Massive amount of storage at a reasonable price, nice design
Disadvantages: Quite noisy

...After a previous experience of my operating system needing a complete re-install and my internal hard drive nearly full of applications and media files. I needed a storage device I could back up and move all my files to, speed up my hard drive and have programs stored in case my operating system would decide to give up on me again. External storage has come down in price a lot lately, and I thought now was a good time to buy. I needed a good amount of space, something that could move files from one device to another quickly, something affordable and something with a recognised name. I've used Freecom products before and I've never had a problem with them. During my search of external hard drives, this hard drive came in a range of sizes from 40gb to 500gb. The 320gb were available at Amazon for £79.99, which was the best price around... Read review

Extra storage when needed
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 160 GB by  pehorts

Advantages: plug and play, fast and quiet
Disadvantages: External power supply

...the Freecom 160gb external hard drive is a so easy to set up, just plug into your usb drive and your ready to use. The main advantage of having an external hard drive is portability, you can store any files or programs and take them with you and plug into any computor with usb 2 ports. I originally bought mine to store my main hard drive disc image in case i needed to do a complete disc rescue, because it is external it will work even if your main hard drive decides to go belly up. it is fairly compact at 11.5cm wide 20cm deep and 4cm high It does sit nicely on my tower unit and because the colour is a nice matt silver with a black face it does blend in with the other peripherals I have. (all standard grey). You may think external usb hard drives run slower but this is fast with an average seek time of only 9ms and a track to track... Read review

Great Value Network Storage
Review of Netgear SC101 Storage Central by  tetsuocloud

Advantages: Flexibility, Smartsync Software
Disadvantages: Simultaneous access to Mac and PC

...Not sure whether i was going for a Freecom NAS Hardrive or one of these, so read up a bit and ended up going for the more flexible approach that is the Netgear SC101. It certainly didn't let me down. I plonked a 25gb seagate hardrive into it and ran the software on my laptop. plugged in the netgear sc101 into my wireless router and within 5mins my laptop had found the 250gb hardrive wireless and was now formatting. The installation was certainly straight forward. Couple of things worth noting i didn't get the full 250gb from the drive infact i only got 232gb. No sweat i happy with 232gb. You can assign an admin password so you don;t get anyone messing with your data and there is also an option of partitioning the drive and mapping the drives to as many drive letters as you wish. It also comes with the smart sync software which... Read review

Who says the best things come in little packages??
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 400 GB by  sriches

Advantages: Supersized storage
Disadvantages: Weighs a tonne

...that but there are options on how to add more storage capacity to this device! I do not know how to do that I am afraid and I do not think I will ever get to know as that is an awful lot of information to put on there! Connection: The hard drive connects to your computer via USB like most other hard drives and is plug and play. The only complaint we have so far about the connection is the fact that even at USB 2.0 connection it still feels like it is running at USB 1.1 and seems to take a while to transfer smallish items like pictures and music. Reliability: We have never had any problems at all with any of our Freecom drives and when I worked in the industry I would recommed Freecom as in my opinion they are reasonably priced and are very reliable - thus good value for money. Design: It is quite a neat aluminium design - it lies flat and is easy to store... Read review

A Stylish Hard Drive...Really?
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 160 GB by  lil_deano_lil

Advantages: Plug and Play, Really Fast Doesn't Overheat
Disadvantages: Nothing =D

...Freecom External 3.5" 160GB Hard Drive I first got the Freecom external hard 160GB hard drive when my internal one on my computer started to get clogged up with applications and other junk. So I decided to go and buy a Freecom external hard drive which is 160 Gigabytes in size. Since this hard drive is external, it does have to look good and not look like a tack bit of plastic with wires hanging out of it. With Freecom though, performance and design is everything. The hard drive enclosure itself is made of high quality, heat absorbing aluminium which is 20 x 11.5 x 4.5 cm ( or 7.9 x 4.5 x 1.6 inches ) in size. On the front of the hard drive enclosure is a storage LED indicator and on the back there is one ' rocker' power on/off switch, a usb port and a power adapter port. This hard drive has been givin five awards including... Read review
