Freelander 2 - thumbs up!
Advantages: fast, comfortable on the road, good fuel economy
Disadvantages: have to turn on engine to use electrics
...I was looking to replace my clio in Summer 2007 and was looking around for a stronger beefier car. I originally looked at the Freelander in late 2005 but was not for me at the time. Thankfully I am quite glad about that as they bought the new Freelander, called Freelander 2, out in 2006.
My must-have requirements (in no order of preference as I MUST HAVE them):

Insiders opinion of Freelanders
Advantages: Excellent TD4 engine, rugged good looks
Disadvantages: Poor 1.8i petrol engine

Freelander, why not?
Advantages: Space, comfort, road view, exterior looks
Disadvantages: plastic, lack of seat adjustment

I did a lot of research on the Freelander before I bought one, I went for a 1999 1.8 XEI 3 door hard top.
I paid 1350 for mine and have had it for 3 months now and done roughly 3000 miles.
My Freelander had no serivce history but was recently taxed, MOT'd and serviced at a local garage.
So far I have had very few faults, and those that I have had were...
