Advantages: nice enough sandwiches, healthy, part of meal deal, fresh, variety

...Passion fruit, or Passiflora edulis, is an exotic fruit grown in warm climates. It is of a very dark purple appearance and looks similar to a large fig. Whenever I go shopping I always have to check out the reduced section. Last week while in Tesco, I noticed a pile very strange looking fruits. Initially I thought they were figs but upon closer inspection I realised that they were passion fruits. I had tried passion fruit once before but couldn't remember much about it so thought I'd grab one while they were cheap (35p). My son immediately turned his nose up at it, quite understandable though - they are not the prettiest of fruits! It stood on my kitchen counter until the next evening when I thought that I'd better try it as I had a low date on it. I'm usually terrible for leaving things until they are past their sell by date...

...My mum bought this item home from Tesco today. She was attracted by the beautiful appearance of the fruit. *~*~*The Fruit*~*~* The fruit itself is a bright pink colour with green scales. It definitely stands out from the other edibles on the shelf. It is an oval sort of shape and about 4/5 inches tall. There are 3 types of Dragon Fruit and they all have very technical names. The Hylocereus undatus, which is what my mum bought, has pink skin and white flesh, the Hylocereus polyrhizus, which has pink skin and red flesh and the Selenicereus megalanthus, which has yellow skin and white flesh. I must stress that I haven't sampled the latter two varieties and therefore this review is solely on the Hylocereus undatus. The inside of the fruit has white flesh as stated above, this flesh is very soft (a bit like a kiwi fruit in appearance...

...I came across these orange and peach fruit shoots in my local shop, two packs of four bottles for £2.09, not bad hey!! They come in these flavours as far as I know ,Orange, Orange and peach and Blackcurrant and apple. The reason I was getting these is that my step daughter was off to kentwell hall and they said if it was hot to pack the children up with plenty of drink for the day so she took four drinks with her. Advantages: Reasonably priced, vegan, good for problem skin, lasts well.

...I wanted something a bit fruity yesterday so decided upon on trying Oasis Summer fruits drink instead of a fizzy drink like Coke again, despite the fact these cost a little bit more they are healthier and won't rot my teeth. There was the summer fruits and the citrus punch flavours available both for around 97p for a 500ml bottle. The bottle is adorned with a lovely label showing off the mixture of fruits contained with in images of Cherry's, Strawberry's, Redcurrants and Apples. Rather tauntingly to be honest considering the summer us British folk seem to have ahead of us seems more like it's going to be cold wet and windy and the only summer fruits we have are the people that told us it was going to be hot and lovely.
