MAGNETIC POETRY
Review of Everything that starts with M ... by Shufflebum

Advantages: Can improve your use of the English language.
Disadvantages: Can and will be used to make totally inappropriate phrases!

...Have you, or any of your friends or family got those brightly coloured magnetic letters on you fridge? You know the ones that everyone tries to make into rude words; only there are never enough vowels! Consider how good it would be to have over 400 words to play with, so that you could create poetry right there in your kitchen. Well I have the perfect answer…Magnetic Poetry. I discovered this recently when was out shopping for a present for Steves birthday. I was actually looking at the birthday cards in Waterstones, when I was strangely drawn to this little gem (it must have been magnetism!). Magnetic Poetry kits do basically what they say. They provide you with loads of words with which you can get your creative juices flowing, and stick you very own brand of poetry to your fridge, or even to your filing cabinet... Read review

Repeat After Me...
Review of Leap Frog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set by markd_uk

Advantages: Kids Learn By Repeitition; This Teaches By Repetition
Disadvantages: It's Very Repetitive

...Those annoying fridge magnets that make up the alphabet have only ever been good for one thing: making rude words. As adults, as soon as we walk into a house that has kids' fridge magnets in the shape of letters, we immediately start rearranging them to make up naughty phrases. To avoid the wrath of the lady of the house, we try to incorporate the rude words into a random jumble of other letters so she won't spot them immediately and I once knew a friend, who was seeing the wife of another friend on the side, leave rude messages for her in the fridge letters, yet her husband failed to see the signs. For kids, however, fridge magnets of any kind are just another excuse to move them from fridge to dishwasher to tumble dryer to cooker and back to fridge again, occasionally using them to clog up the video player or other household... Mould & Paint Glitter Fairy Fridge Magnets
Review of Mould & Paint Mould & Paint Glitter Fairy Fridge Magnets by allyoxley

Advantages: Great Fun, Easy to Do, Good Results
Disadvantages: Not for Boys

...For ages 5 and over This is a Choking Hazard for 3 years and below. Priced from around £4.99 (I paid £5.99), purchased from most Good Toy Shops My daughter who is 8 years old had this as one of her birthday presents. She is very arty crafty and loves pretty things, so this Mould & Paint Glitter Fairy Fridge Magnets had all the things she likes rolled into one. The box is a little deceiving as you can also make brooches from this kit as well as fridge magnets. The box this comes in is beautifully presented. The idea of this is to make plaster moulds of fairies using one of the blisters provided. There are 6 blisters of different fairies which all come with their own names:- Rosalva, Sarette, Abella, Eloiny, Delicia and Felicitae. This kit will make a total of 12 badges/fridge magnets with the plaster supplied, but obviously you... Read review

Our Dreadful Experience of Magnet Kitchens
Review of Magnet by Farside

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Dreadful service and poor quality units

...Last year we were fortunate enough to be able to build a new extension to our home and incorporate our dream kitchen. Unfortunately we chose Magnet and that dream turned into a nightmare. The problems began the day we first arranged to see a kitchen designer. Our appointment was for 10am but Magnet rang to say we were double booked and asked us if we could come at 11am instead. We said OK, but when we got there no one was expecting us at all. How we wish we'd walked out there and then. We were made to feel very unwelcome and this was borne out when we received the order for checking after our kitchen had been 'designed by an expert'. It was very wrong. It took another two attempts just to get the order right. The kitchen was delivered with the wrong oven housing, the wrong fridge/freezer housing (to fit the fridge/freezer supplied... Read review

100 bits to pick up...least they're magnetic
Review of Magnetix Magnetic Build Kit by The-ex-Raven

Advantages: 100 bits to pick up off floor...least they're magnetic...
Disadvantages: only 50 bits in a set....

...... it is actually quite fun to build shapes out of this stuff and everyone has had a play. The magnets are strong and hold together well enough, though the balls are magnetic only the sticks have magnets in. You can make some impressive little 3D constructions. The balls are metal but the sticks are bright coloured plastic in Red/Blue/Yellow and Green with magnetic ends. Warnings Recommended age is 6+ on the box also has extra warning of 'choking hazard' not for under 3 years. Common sense really, the kit is made up of small (about 1cm diameter) Metal balls and Magnetic sticks about 2cm long which would be very dangerous if swallowed. My boy nearly 5 and will play sensible with them. Though he has found other uses for them like sticking all the straight bits on the fridge...and sending marbles flying down his car tracks... The fridge was ready to plug in once it was out of its packaging. It had to be left on for three hours without any food in, cleaned of any dust and was ready to use. More fairies...
Review of Mould & Paint Mould & Paint Glitter Fairy Fridge Magnets by danielalong

Advantages: Arty crafty pretty things
Disadvantages: only 6 of them

...Mould and Paint Glitter Fairy This is another one of those gifts when, once given, little miss just HAD to make! **What is in the box?** Inside the box, there are the obligatory instructions, written in several languages, as well as a blister pack of 6 designs, plaster powder, glitter, magnets, paint (5 colours),pins, and paint brush. The idea is that there are sufficient materials to make six fairy moulds, which can be made into either fridge magnets or badges. **How to make them** The instructions are quite complex so children will need an adult to read them, but as long as they are supervised, there is no reason why they can't follow the instructions, and actually make the fairies themselves. It really is quite simple. The plaster has to be mixed, and we added the water very slowly so that Little Miss could watch... Read review

Leap Frog will teach me my alphabet.
Review of Leap Frog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set by funkyjo

Advantages: Fun and easy way to learn the alphabet.
Disadvantages: .........................................................................

...Yes! Another great toy by Leap Frog, but this time one for the kitchen, or anywhere else you may want to take it for that matter. My daughter has a habbit of following me everywhere I go, and with her always comes some sort of toy to play with. Having a very small kitchen, its always quite hard to move around when shes on the floor with her toys, so I was so greatful when I fell across the Fridge Phonics by Leap Frog. Fridge Phonics is a magnetic letter set which helps children to learn there alphabet through letter names and sounds. Fridge Phonics cotains 1 base unit and 26 letters ( 1 of each letter of the alphabet). The unit is approx 3.5 inches high by 3 inches wide and is green and blue in colour, and has a picture of the well known Leap Frog frog. There is a space in the middle of the unit for the letters to be placed. Also... Read review

Zanussi ZERC3025
Review of Zanussi ZERC3025 by mints4merlin

Advantages: Easy to keep, smell free, and lots of space!
Disadvantages: no freezer part, also no ice cubes :(

...The picture of this fridge looks lovely, all hygienic and clean. I can assure you ours looks nothing like this. Let me construct a mental image for you. It's a tall fridge about 6ft high, slightly higher than myself and my housemates. Infact ktie is only 5ft1 and we always laugh at her trying to reach the top shelf. So if theres anything we want to hide from her we put it up there, such as champagne, chocolate truffles and my sexual chocolate mousse! The outside of it, which is different from the picture, is that it's completely covered with alphabet fridge magnets spelling rude phrases, comical slogans and bizzare statements. It also adorns many newspaper clippings from various articles and magazines. Theres a couple of postcards, pictures and blobs of blue tack (plus a ''don't steal my milk'' postit). So yes ours does look a bit... Read review
