...Far From The Madding Crowd I absolutely love the book by Thomas Hardy and also was a huge fan of the 1967 film, starring Julie Christie, Alan Bates, Terence Stamp and Peter Finch, and directed by John Schlesinger. I loved it as it captured the feel of Hardy?s Wessex, the casting was perfect with Terrance Stamp flashy and selfish while good old Alan Bates reliable and steady. I wasn?t that fussed...
