...Gust front. The Posleen have invaded the Earth. They are big reptilian looking aliens and they hate humans with a ferocity. The book is essentially a war/ resistance type novel with lots of battles and counter insurgency rear guard actions. The book follows differing teams of human fighter as they each have a story and a battle to fight. Some are successful and some disastrous slaughters. The Polseen are nasty aliens and no empathy comes across in the book, they want to totally dominate the humans and take over the Earth. The characters draw your pity as they fight against overwhelming odds and weapons so advanced only trickery and humans sacrificing themselves can help to defeat the Polseen commandos. There are a couple of sub plots and equally a couple of twist but they are not much to speak of and for me...

Hanko Front Museum - a labour of love

Advantages: Interesting, well researched, great for history buffs, different to other museums
Disadvantages: Lack of captions in English; you may not be into military history

Strictly speaking the Front Musuem in Lappohja in Southern Finland should have been closed for the winter when we visited the area in September 2007; in fact mid-September onwards is very much seen as the "off season" for most attractions in Finland, other than those in the heart of the cities (and even some of these close down for several months too). However, our Lonely Planet had been wrong before so we enquired at the tourist information office in the nearby town of Hanko. The tourist officer contacted the curator of the museum and arranged an appointment for us to visit the Front Museum later that day. This is a very widely known song and has a great tune which accompanies some very good lyrics. 16 - Three Times a Lady - This track runs for 3.35 minutes and was produced by James Anthony Carmicheal and The Commodores. Thisis probably the most famous of his songs, in my opinion, which is a very moving ballard and a favourite for weddings. The Cd cover contains a grey background with a very nice picture of Lionel fron the chest up wearign black and has the title in white letters. The back of the CD is gold in colour and again hasa picture of lionel the same as the front cover picture but from the knees up on this one. There is also the standard track list and credits. You don't really need to read the first book but it would lay a little more meat on the bones of this story. Initially in the first book the POSLEEN where attempting to invade Earth, however in this book they are HERE. The battle descriptions are quite good and colourfully written, remember this is escapism sci-fi. Which means there is no need for the more 'techno' accuracy, which accompanies some sci-fi books? Some of the old characters from the first book are still here, with a host of new and surprisingly well fleshed out members of the fighting force. But among all the videos, poems, biographies, and documentaries, this is one of my favourites. 'All Quiet on the Western Front' first grabbed my attention because it sounds so poetic, so familiar. However the deepest irony is that the front was never quiet, constantly bashed into craters by heavy shell-fire. Before this DVD (a 1979 remake of the classic black and white film) I had no idea what the trenches were really like. What is somewhat unique is that this story is seen from the German perspective. What is heartwarming and depressing is that it is very much like our own story...

...The Men's Lifestyle is one of the most lucrative sectors in the magazine industry. It is also now one of the most competitive as well with new titles appearing all the time. The Main players are probably "FHM", "Loaded", "Maxim" and "Sky" and are well established. Front is a relative newcomer, having been on the market for just over two years. If you have ever read it you will have probably noticed that it is a similar vein to "Loaded", i.e. more of a "lads" mag than a "men's". This is mainly due to the fact that it was founded by Piers Hernu who used to employed as part of the "Loaded" staff. Front - getting better and better

Advantages: cheaper then FHM
Disadvantages: not as good as FHM but getting there

...Newcomer to the ladsmag scene, but putting in a gallant effort. Slow starter but the last few issues have been of top quality. Front, edited by loveable rogue - Piers Hernu, was featured on a BBC2 fly on the wall documentary. The mag has been out for over 2 years now but is struggling to outsell the likes of FHM and Loaded, however it's gives them a run for their money. Talking of money Front is slightly cheaper at £2.90, but with fewer pages. Front boasts such features as Mate In A State, Vintage Bintage, Bez Sez and Dodgy Dave Courtney (don't mess with him !) Excellent features, quality birds, top reviews - what more do you want ? This month's issue :- Front continues to get better each month. Excellent pix and reviews. Touch Screen Fun

Advantages: Original, nice looking, sturdy

It is accurate, generally easy to control and the screen doesn't scratch permanently (you do get temporary scratches, but these rub off easily). There is a handy holder for the stylus on the side so it'll be quite difficult to lose it. There is also a D-Pad and four buttons for non-touch screen games, which are clear and easy to use. Another control is the microphone - I have only used this for 'blowing' games, not 'talking' games, however my experience of it is negative.
