...After trying cappucino of the instant variety, I wanted the real thing to compare it to, and decided to buy myself a frother. The Salter CRXR frother comes in a very sturdy white background box, with colour pictures of the machine and scrummy cappucino and milk shake on the front, pics and blurb on sides, and on the back just 5 points written out in various languages. Opening the box you find the machine securely seated inside because of the cardboard protection about it, alongside is the user guide in 8 languages. It is clearly and well written, starts with safeguards and precautions, battery installation, usage instructions and cleaning with the gaurantee at the end of the sheet, How did it fare? I found it difficult to put the battery cover back in place, and started to get quite annoyed, had to give it up and try...

...The Aerolatte is one of those products that you think you can do without - until you buy one and wonder how you ever did without it. Priced £14.99, it may not seem that cheap but it is well worth the money and you will get a lot of use out of it. I had seen the Aerolatte milk frother on QVC several times and although I was fascinated by the demonstration, I didn't buy it. Then I went to the Ideal Home Show at Earl's court last year and there was an Aerolatte demonstration going on, on one of the stalls. I stayed and watched it, even more fascinated than when I saw it on QVC. The man who demonstrated it showed every which way it could be used, from frothing milk for capuccinos to milk shakes, to Horlicks and so on. I couldn't believe just how a simple device like this could work so well. I bought it at the special price of £12...

Frothy Coffee - kids play

...Having just finished a cup of cappuccino coffee which I made using my Aerolatte milk frother, I can heartily endorse this gadget. I saw the Aerolatte being demonstrated on QVC about 5 weeks ago and was most impressed and immediately sent for one. In the past I have found that many gadgets which are demonstrated on T.V. and at Ideal Home Exhibitions look fantastic when they are being used by somebody else but when I have a go they just don't seem to work. So I was understandably sceptical. I need not have worried about the Aerolatte. A child of five could successfully use this little item. My only problem is the quantity of froth it produces from such a small amount of milk. It's very hard to judge how much milk to use if you only want to make enough froth for one drink. Wake up and smell the Coffee

...I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago for £49.99, mine was actually called a delonghi trevisio, but it is this machine. A small neat expresso coffee machine, with milk steamer/frother, this little box of tricks made a perfect cappuccino straight from the box. I have to admit I was a little sceptical - I had been expecting to only be able to buy a steam action (3 - 4 bar pressure) machine for my budget - which was £75, so was delighted to find this pump action at an affordable price, but did wonder what would be skimped on to make it affordable. The difference in the two actions is the quality of the expresso and more particulary the crema on the expresso (the frothy bit!!). I have to say I was not overly impressed with the first couple of expresso's i made. However I invested in a coffee pod adaptor for the BAR14...

A great coffee whenever you want it.

Advantages: Neat, clean, very easy to use and produces a great expresso or cappuccino.
Disadvantages: Uses nespresso capsules only.

...and pull forward the lever to fill the cup. Should you want hot milk, you flick another switch, place the frother nozzle into your milk and push the lever back until it is hot enough. Taking all of a couple of minutes at the most. You get approx 40 capsules when you buy the machine - in a variety of blends. (The demonstrator ensured I had the full range to try, giving me 50 capsules). When you need more you can either post off an order form or shop online and join the Nespresso Club. Your order is delivered to your door within 3 days. Each capsule costs 21p - not bad compared to what you pay on the high street these days. Not only is the machine very neat and stylish, you can get a number of accessories to make it even more impressive to your dinner guests, not to mention the two expresso cups and saucers that come with it...

...This machine is simple and easy to use, good for those who dont like reading instructions. The machine is easy to load with water and has a light indicating when its done. It takes ground coffee, so saves on buying pods and a built in filter again saves hassel and expense. The milk frother is heated so ensures that the coffee is kept warm. Again indicated through a light on the front. The milk frother can also be used seperatly for other uses such as hot chocolates! The milk frother can occasionly be slightly messy but only requires a quick wipe down. It fits well into the small kitchen we have. Over all i'd say a good value for money product....
