...I have to admit that I am not the best when it comes to having breakfast. As I work 9 to 5, having breakfast at 8 in the morning is not always the most appealing thing and then of a weekend I get up, start the housework and before I know it, it is lunchtime! Tesco Fruit and plenty of fibre

Advantages: A cereal that is full of fibre
Disadvantages: nothing major

...I have to admit that fibre cereals would not be my Number One choice, but there are certain times that a matter has to be addressed and I scuttle off to Tesco in search of relief. Yes, you read correctly, relief! I am sure that I am not the only person that suffers from constipation. So if the pipes start to seize up then it is time to set the wheels in motion. A 750g box of Tesco Fruit and Fibre cereal costs around £1.50, so if I am going to spend that much then I want to see results! ...I adore cereal and cereal bars, it's almost impossible not to. Although I usually prefer the 'chewy' kind, now and again I like the softer, oaty bars. Usually, I'd head for the brands with Kellogg's Nutri-Grain, but when I discovered Asda's own version, Fruit & Grain. They offer a selection of delicious flavours, one of the most appealing being the Apple and Cinnamon. Inside the cardboard box, you'll find eight individually wrapped cereal bars in a green wrapper with white writing. Okay, so it doesn't look too appealing yet, but its what's inside that counts! I used to buy the Kellogg's variety but as I am watching the pennies a bit these days I decided to stop being so snobby and try the TESCO's own version. Fruit and Nutty about Alpen cereal bars

Advantages: Lovely texture and flavour
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest

...Alpen cereal bars do exactly what they say on the box, they are delicious, moist and chewy and paked full of fruit and nut pieces. These are great bars for popping in your bag or pocket for a quick and easy snack through the day - I usually have one to keep me going during lectures at uni, or for between dance classes to keep me going. They really are delicious, and sometimes one just isn't enough! At 110 calories and 2.8g fat per bar - they are a healthier alternative to bag of crisps or a bar of chocolate. Cereal Nut!!

Advantages: Wide variety, fairly cheap, versatile, availability
Disadvantages: Some not so pleasant, sugar, some nutrition

I do find Weetabix to be a little bloating, but the petruding tum goes down after a short while! I espescially like my weetabix mashed to a pulp with lots and lots of milk! The pack I bought had a competition to win 10,000 traditional gardening sets, no high tech prizes from Dorset! This continues the good life theme Dorset is trying to portray. The product. *********** The flakes of this cereal are small and they look very similar in and colour to cornflakes but smaller. There are plenty of grape and fig pieces to see and this impressed me! The cereal tasted light as promised and was not too sweet. The cereal had a nice crunch. The fruit was good and there was plenty of it too. I did however taste salt, something that I didn't find pleasant. I usually eat porridge for breakfast with no sugar or salt added so I guess my taste buds are not used to the addition of salt! Im not a sweet toothed person but I find that because the bars aren't huge, they can be quite enjoyable. I think that two in a row however, would turn my stomach because they are very sweet. ...My mum bought this item home from Tesco today. She was attracted by the beautiful appearance of the fruit. *~*~*The Fruit*~*~* The fruit itself is a bright pink colour with green scales. It definitely stands out from the other edibles on the shelf. It is an oval sort of shape and about 4/5 inches tall. There are 3 types of Dragon Fruit and they all have very technical names. The Hylocereus undatus, which is what my mum bought, has pink skin and white flesh, the Hylocereus polyrhizus, which has pink skin and red flesh and the Selenicereus megalanthus, which has yellow skin and white flesh. I must stress that I haven't sampled the latter two varieties and therefore this review is solely on the Hylocereus undatus. The inside of the fruit has white flesh as stated above, this flesh is very soft (a bit like a kiwi fruit in appearance...
