...After 7 months of hard work my Fuji F30 has proven itself to me. The pictures' quality is simply amazing. Many people not familiar with the F30, would say "it's just 6 Megapixels!". Megapixels now days is a very misleading performance metric. My opinion is that for everyday use, up to 3MP is sufficient. Thus most of the time I have my F30 set to take 3MP sized photos. There are so many cheaply made unbranded (and not only) digital cameras in the market stating with shiny letters there 8+ Megapixels performance. Taking an oversized 8+MP picture, doesn't always mean that its clarity will be any superior than a picture taken at a lower resolution. The F30 is a live proof of this theory. At 6MP, F30 manages to outperform all the digital cameras in its range, many digital cameras of the 8-10MP range, and even compete very well... Read review

It actually has many of the features of the S9500 including the f2.8-f4.9, 10.7x optical zoom lens and if truth be known, is not far off being the same price, the same size and the same weight as the S9500. The S6500 is supposed to be the lower-spec camera, so it lacks a few of the S9500's features. It only has a 6.3-megapixel SuperCCD HR sensor, compared to a 9.0-megapixel sensor. ...with the cuteness factor of the lovely Dave too. *sigh* The whole deal cost me £451. I narrowed the choice down to two, the Fujifilm FinePix S7000 and the Canon EOS 500D. There wasn't much to chose between the two with both having a similar number of cons, the biggest being the price. The Canon was almost £600 but is a true SLR, the Fujifilm was half the cost but wasn't quite so flexible. Hmmmm. After much pondering I decided that the exceptional 6x optical zoom on the S7000 was by far the most desirable feature for me. I photograph my artwork which requires that you get in nice and close in order to capture the smallest of details. I was impressed with the camera, but soon that wore off when it would not download 59 photoes i had taken, and it then went on the wipe its memory of these. It has been said by people that it is just Fuji 2600 Zoom with another name, but not knowing about this other camera, I cannot comment on this.
