It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. I am not a trendy teenager, in fact I am over sixty, but really love it's trendy appearance and also the fact that it is neat enough just to slip in my pocket or handbag. Technical part: works on windows Vista, XP home, XP Pro, 2000 Pro. 7.2 mega pixals, 3x optical zoom and 2.5 incg LCD screen Handy extras (not supplied) - XD picture memory card and carry case. Memory card is deffinately recommended so you can take more pictures and a carry case would be nice although I don't use one as it's small and light enough to fit in the pocket of my handbag. Advantages: The camera is brilliant, everything I wanted and didn't get with my vivitar camera

Fuji FinePix F70EXR - slimline super-zoom

...The Fuji FinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it. The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. It isn't MASSIVELY noticable when looking at the pictures alone, but when you compare it to a photo taken by another camera it is obvious how bad the image quality is. My brother sent his back after after it for 2 weeks but i solidiered on since i had purchased the 2 year extended warranty. I wish i hadn't, i wish i'd sent it back! I can honestly say that a disposable camera takes a better quality image. Despite reading reviews for the camera before buying, i have subsequently read a review which said " General image softness is also apparent in all of our test photos. In wide-angle shots, especially, the Z10 displays a wider visibly soft edge than most cameras, even most ultra-compacts."
