Fuji FinePix F200EXR - The Party Animal's camera

Advantages: Low-light capability, Auto-focus is brilliant

...Much has been made in recent years if the quality of low-light/high ISO images produced by the Fuji FinePix F30 and F31d cameras - and rightly so. By not trying to cram more and more pixels onto their sensor, Fuji have been able to concentrate on getting better performance out of the ones that are already there and the 6mp cameras certainly make the most of the available light. This tradition has been upheld with the development of the EXR sensor and the release of the F200EXR - a serious compact camera, with a serious price tag of around £330 (RRP). It is basically an old Fuji FinePix F100fd with the new EXR sensor. It is a different colour but there aren't many other differences on the surface. What is EXR Technology? Fujifilm Strike Again

Advantages: The camera is brilliant, everything I wanted and didn't get with my vivitar camera

...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. Fuji FinePix F70EXR - slimline super-zoom

Advantages: Features, Low-light capability
Disadvantages: A little confusing to master and a little too expensive

...The Fuji FinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it. The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it.
