Fujifilm F480 Camera
Advantages: A great all round stylish camera
Disadvantages: Not for tehcno-phobes!
...I upgraded my digital camera to a Fujifilm Finepix F480 a few months ago after finally parting company with my loyal, reliable previous digital camera which I had owned for 4 years. I was reluctant to swap to a new camera as I knew that over the last few years, technology had advanced and although I wanted a camera which gave me the opportunity to take the highest quality pictures, I also wanted the camera itself to still be simple to use.
~The camera itself~
The Finepix F480 is modern in design in my opinion. It comes in silver or black and is light to hold and compact in size so fits well in the handbag without taking up too much space - a must for us ladies!! It is an 8.2 mega pixel camera and has a sleek and stylish design.
For such a compact camera I was impressed with the screen size on the reverse of the camera...

Getting Your Kid Into Digital Cameras
Advantages: Features Like Any Regular Digital Camera
Disadvantages: 16 MB Internal Memory and No Zoom Capabilities
...No digital camera review on CIAO would be complete without a few entries about cameras designed for kids. After all, kids are almost universally enthusiastic about taking pictures. And parents with a love of photography often pass down their passion to their children. But digital cameras are not always kid-friendly, due to fragile construction, price, or complicated menus and buttons. The newest trend in children's electronics is a group of digital cameras made especially for small children. These cameras are easy to hold, come in bright colors that kids love, and have many of the same features as grown-up digital cameras. Kids love them.
The VTech KidiZoom Digital Camera is one of the top digital cameras for kids. This camera was made with fun in mind. Kids like the KidiZoom's large LCD screen and the onboard photo editing options...

Fuji FinePix F200EXR - The Party Animal's camera
Advantages: Low-light capability, Auto-focus is brilliant
Disadvantages: Awkward menus, Slow start-up
...Much has been made in recent years if the quality of low-light/high ISO images produced by the Fuji FinePix F30 and F31d cameras - and rightly so. By not trying to cram more and more pixels onto their sensor, Fuji have been able to concentrate on getting better performance out of the ones that are already there and the 6mp cameras certainly make the most of the available light.
This tradition has been upheld with the development of the EXR sensor and the release of the F200EXR - a serious compact camera, with a serious price tag of around £330 (RRP).
It is basically an old Fuji FinePix F100fd with the new EXR sensor. It is a different colour but there aren't many other differences on the surface.
What is EXR Technology? If I could answer that, I'd be considerably richer than I am! As I understand it, it is all to do with the way...

FujiFilm FinePix Camera
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None
...I love this camera! I was bought it as a present from a photography obsessed relative and he wouldn't buy me rubbish.
The package: digital FinePix camera Z10fd, Li-on battery NP-45, battery charger, handy strap, USB cable, A/V cable, CD-ROM and manual.
Technical part: works on windows Vista, XP home, XP Pro, 2000 Pro. 7.2 mega pixals, 3x optical zoom and 2.5 incg LCD screen
Handy extras (not supplied) - XD picture memory card and carry case.
Memory card is deffinately recommended so you can take more pictures and a carry case would be nice although I don't use one as it's small and light enough to fit in the pocket of my handbag.
Not being a camera person and never really using one before I found this easy to set up and install on my PC. The menus are easy to navigate and there is a more than ample choice of shooting modes...

Fuji Quicksnap Marine
Advantages: Takes beautiful photos than that of the Kodak Sport
Disadvantages: The lever is easily caught taking unwanted photos
...I bought this disposable camera while waiting to board my flight in Gatwick airport. It was our honeymoon to the Maldives, after getting married the day before. While shopping round duty free shops, I remembered that I hadn't bought one of these underwater cameras with all the preparing and panicking. Luckily, that was all we had forgotten! Usually a must have for us, as we love to snorkel while we are away. I found the underwater disposables in a branch of Dixons, in the airport, retailing at just £8.50. In our usual store normally, in the past we have paid around £12.99.
On the shelf, there was a choice of two. The fuji Quicksnap Marine or the Kodak Sport - both selling at the tax free price of £8.50. Normally I would have gone with the Kodak make but, called me Pathetic, I liked the look of the Fuji camera as it was bright, blue...

Fuji Finepix Z10fd Camera - Pink
Advantages: Amazing durability, reliable, good value for money
Disadvantages: Probably not appropriate for advanced photographers
...I have owned this camera for over a year and am still using it! The cameras I used before purchasing this one were all of quite poor durability (although i never used a case which probably didn't help) - they all broke within months. This neat little pink camera, however, has been knocked around my bag many times without a camera case and still works perfectly!
The price is very reasonable - at full price, it is orginially around £130, although I bought it on Amazon for under £100, which is great value for money. The camera has a wide variety of settings, including, portrait, nighttime and anti-blur. There is also movie mode feature and voice recording features available. Other handy features include face recognition, a variety of flash settings and display options such as black and white and framing. The camera comes in several...

Fuji FinePix J250. A lot of camera for a little money
Advantages: Ease of use, Feature-packed, Cheap
Disadvantages: A little slow, Limited manual usability
...For a relatively inexpensive camera, the Fuji FinePix J250 has some surprising features stowed away in that little casing, such as digital/sensor shift Image Stabilization, Face Detection, Scene Recognition and a whopping great 3? LCD screen. The 5x optical zoom gives a focal range of 5.1 ? 25.5mm, or 28 ? 140mm in 35mm equivalent terms, which is great for a wide range of situations, and there is Continuous Shooting, albeit it at a lowly rate of 1.4fps.
It is not as small and compact as some of the small compacts on the market but at 92mm (3.6in) x 58mm (2.3in) x 23mm (0.9in), it will slip into your pocket with the same ease as a cigarette packet, and it weighs in at 151g (5.3oz).
The appearance is sleek and smart, sporting a round-shouldered, brushed-metal casing. I haven?t seen it in any other colour than black but the black...

Fuji FinePix S1500. Descendant of the S1000fd
Advantages: Huge zoom, Focus Tracking, Easy to use
Disadvantages: Bulky, A little slow, AA batteries are a bit inconvenient
...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered.
The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too.
The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed.
There are 14 preset scenes to choose from, each setting the camera to its optimum settings for the given scenario, but on top of this, the camera can be used...

FUJIFILM FINEPIX S5700, THE CAMERA FOR ME! :)
Advantages: EVERY ADVANTAGE FOR THE MORE SERIOUS PHOTOGRAPHER, SO MANY FEATURES.
Disadvantages: NOT INTENDED FOR YOUR POCKET. >OF COURSE NOT!<
...Fujifilm Finepix S5700.
This is a very fine digital camera at MY price! The moment I set eyes on this one, I was really very impressed. The features on this model are unbelievable. Just look at the specification to see what I mean. It is an easy camera to use. In Auto mode, simply great and for the experienced photographer the manual mode is excellent. I love this camera so much that I would buy two of them!! It handles well, all the important buttons are well sited, to me this is very important.
I say that this is a good buy for someone wanting that bit more, or in this case, a lot more, to have the ownership of a Pro camera is a dream come true. Yes it is larger than a pocket digital camera and does not fit in your pocket easily. How many true photographers carry pocket sized Digital cameras? Well I used to do that...

Fujifilm Strike Again
Advantages: The camera is brilliant, everything I wanted and didn't get with my vivitar camera
Disadvantages: I wanted a red one :D That's it really. A few problems with the scene modes but nothing too bad
...heard before that they can be a bit cruel when it comes to returning products, a lot of them don?t allow you to return a product once it has been opened and used, so I was a bit worried that I would not get my money back.
Buying the Camera
We went into the shop, fully expecting a problem with the fact that I had used the camera and tested it out, however a lady who recognised us from the previous day (she sold my mum her tumble dryer) and helped us out immensely. One of the first things she said was that she would have never have sold us this camera in the first place, it is supposed to be quite poor and the girl that sold it us should have really known that. She asked us then if we had seen the Fujifilm offer on at the moment. It had £10 off and meant that the price of the camera was still within my price range, but I would be...
