Love to 'Point-and-Shoot' with Fuji A310
Review of Fujifilm FinePix A310 by ccindy_24

Advantages: Captures real colors, compact, stylish, high ISO, noise free
Disadvantages: no sound for movies, limited macro capability

...With 4th generation Super CCD technology digital camera—Fuji Finepix A310 Zoom! This really captured my attention in an ad as my existing digital camera is just using the 2nd generation Super CCD technology, to think that I’m very much impressed with it. So how much more with the 2 generations advanced one? I tried to take the chance to buy it as it is being sold in a good price as an upgrade. As soon as I have my new Fuji Finepix A310 Zoom I really tested it to see if it’s worth selling my existing digital camera, so I won’t have any regret afterwards. Fuji Finepix A310 Zoom is one of Fujifilm’s latest line-up of digital cameras using their 4th generation Super CCD HR technology. The first time I saw it I got very impressed by its pocket-sized and stylish design. It’s so handy that you can even put it in a small bag or just in your... Read review

S9500 Good or bad
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S9500 by pluffy

Advantages: 9MP camera with super CCD technology
Disadvantages: Noise on high contrast photo,s

...The S9500 sits at the top end of the Fuji range with a price tag to match, depending on where you look it varies from £290 to £350, although you can sometimes pick up a cheap bargain through the Fuji website which offers refurbed kit. For all you techno's here are some of the specs: Effective pixels. 9.0 million pixels CCD sensor. 1/1.6 super CCD HR Sensor (means it's good) Storage media. xD-Picture card, Compactflash, Microdrive File format. JPEG, RAW, AVI Lens. 10.7x optical zoom Fujinon lens, F2 - F8 Focus. Auto, continuous AF, manual LCD monitor is a 1.8" TFT which is also tiltable. Exposure control. Program AE, shutter priority AE, aperture priority AE manual exposure. I think that is enough of the techno stuff , let's discuss the good and bad of the camera. Being at the top end you would expect the S9500 to take... Read review

If only they could add a Nikon lens
Review of Fujifilm FinePix 4700 Zoom by wordsmith

Advantages: Great design, small package
Disadvantages: None really, but USB only may deter some

...The Fuji finepix 4700 is a great camera in a wonderfully neat package. It is beautifully designed and small enough to go in a pocket- which is why I originally liked the canon Ixus APS but was very disappointed with the quality. I'm trying to avoid making the same mistake again, which is why the wonderful Nikon lens is edging me towards the Nikon 990, but I can't help feeling I'd be prepared to carry the 4700 round with me to a greater extent and use it as a 'social' camera. To my mind, it's a bit of a shame that there isn't a cut down version for less money without the AVI video and sound facility, but the key question for me is whether the Fuji super CCD technology really boosts image quality or whether it's hype. Side by side colour charts and resolution charts show that the Nikon 990 has the edge. If you're only going to output... Read review

Small yet Powerful
Review of Fujifilm FinePix 40i by abdulawwal

Advantages: Nice size, one handed operation possible
Disadvantages: No optical zoom

...I bought this camera after having already tried the Fuji Finepix 30i, which is one model lower than this. When you see the additional features that you pay for in the 40i, it is worth every penny. Unlike the 30i, you get 2.4 mega pixels, Audio/Video output, remote control headphones, longer recording in movie mode and automatic lens cover. The camera utilises the SmartMedia cards for storage, which isn't as popular as it use to be, and even Fujifilm are slowly making the transition to CompactFlash also. Also, the 40i uses the Super CCD imaging system, developed by Fujifilm. This enhances the quality of the images notably, especially when compared to the 30i. All this technology doesn't make the camera difficult to use. There are only six buttons on the back and one mode selection dial, which offers three choices! Very easy to use... Read review

Fujifilm F402 FinePix or BadPix
Review of Fujifilm FinePix F402 by Mitsiman

Advantages: Lightweight, Compact, Excptional image quality, Super effective flash, Sturdy build quality
Disadvantages: Small and Fiddly buttons, basic photography operations

...Working for a large IT company - I've had experience using several different cameras - ranging from a very basic £30 Kodak point and click Digital camera - to using a professional SLR digital. I purchased an F402 for Marketing use - I absolutley fell in love with the design, and the minituristic size of it (slightly bigger than a Jacobs cracker!). I was told it had a pixel output of 4.1 Megapixels - DON'T confuse this with "effective pixels" - the camera actually is only 2.1 Megapixel, but its clever Super CCD lens translates images making them look crisper and sharper than they perhaps should. AMAZING! I just can't take a bad shot with this camera at all - and being in a compact light alloy casing makes me want to hold it and use it all the time! In the box: With the F402 "Premium Package" you get: * Fuji F402 Camera... Read review

Super drunk cam
Review of Fuji QuickSnap Disposable 35mm by Morgenhund

Advantages: good pics, compact, easy to use, reliable
Disadvantages: not the cheapest way in the long run as developing and processing costs are not included

...in there of course...). I went for the Fujifilm single camera, as it was cheaper (ATS 149) than the equivalent Kodak single use camera (ATS 199). For that, I got a 27 exposure camera, with in built flash, with an 800 ASA Superia film. For shooting indoors the flash was of course necessary and the flash, charged using a button on the front, takes about 4 secs to charge. The button on the front could be pulled out to activate the flash automatically – so that meant not having to set it between photos. Thereafter it is a question of point and click, and then wind on (manually). Of course, if you are keeping the camera in your pocket, then I would advise not winding on the camera until you are about to take the next photo, as otherwise you may end of lots of trouser pocket shots if you are not careful. I reeled of the film without any difficulty – friends... Read review

Finest Fuji Finepix A350
Review of Fujifilm FinePix A350 by marcellep

Advantages: Quality, Size, Design, Look, Price, Brand
Disadvantages: None as yet

...'t be the case, I was like how the hell can this camera only store 10 or so pictures on it. I soon realised that I was taking pictures on the highest setting being 5.2million pixels and of course I was using the memory card that Fuji provided with the camera which was only 16MB. I soon realised that I was going to have to spend more money and get another memory card for the camera. Forgetting about the memory problem that I now had I decided to transfer the pictures that I had taken on to my PC I was immediately surprised with the quality. It was super sharp and the detail to attention was just amazing, the pure quality of the first ever picture that I had taken on the camera had to be possibly the best I have ever taken with any camera I have had in the past. Now I know that this was on the highest setting but I thought I will definitely be taking... Read review

The Ultrium-ate Review
Review of Fujifilm LTO Ultrium 200 GB by Calldean

Advantages: Fast
Disadvantages: Cost

...edge LTO tapes have a small spring loaded "door" at the side through which the tape is dispensed into the drive. So unlike your videos, which spool from one side to the other, this is spun out in one long line and then rewound. I could be totally wrong but Fuji and the other manufacturers are a little obscure on this! Enough of that anyway; what do you do with them? You copy your ever so precious data onto it. Now I'm willing to bet a penny to an LTO drive that your data isn't worth £3000+. Nope, didn't think so. But for business it is. Frequently it's worth a lot more than that. Your average home user will NEVER need this much storage capacity. Each tape has a native (I.E. Uncompressed) capacity of 200GB. Most home PCs don't even have hard drives that big. Compress the data and you can get a theoretical capacity of 400GB. More... Read review

Fujifilm FinePix S5700 is a winner
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S5700 by ProjectOverseer

Advantages: Serious quality at a silly price
Disadvantages: For the price, none!

...I've owned this camera for a few weeks now, and I'm pleased to report that taking price into account, the performance is outstanding ... you would have to spend serious money to better this product, and those that might knock it probably have. To get the best from this camera you'll need to up it one notch to its highest resolution setting, for general use the factory preset is perfectly okay though. Buy a UV filter for even better results. Macro and super Macro settings produce impressive results, and the range of features will please many. The LCD is much better than the 5600 giving you a far better idea of pictures taken, but once you're home and viewing your shots via PC you will be impressed with Colour, depth and overall sharpness. weak points are glare and colour cast at extreme zoom, though using a UV filter almost clears... Ok for a cheap buy but would have gone for F410
Review of Fujifilm FinePix F401 by eklipze

Advantages: Small, good battery life, easy to use
Disadvantages: Not many manual options, only 2.1 megapixel

...Well I had an old panasonic digital camera and wanted rid as it was useless (£60 in Tesco if I remember) so I needed another option. I'd liked to have paid £1000's for a Digital SLR but I was unfortunately limited to about £250. So I went for the F401 from Fujifilm as a couple of mates had been to the states and got one each. Managed to pick one up cheap for £200 on the nose and was reasonably happy. Ok the good and bad points I have found so far : Good. Great size and very easy to handle. Considering its only 2.1 megapixel, I think the photos have come out great although some shots have needed a little colour/contrast adjusting in paintshop pro to get them just right. The battery life is superb, managed a whole week taking photos and at the end the battery was showing half full. Bad. I know its only a point and click but I would... Read review
