...Fujitsu runs under the siemens brand name. it's a brand that has been around for ages, mainly making TV, DVD players and other electrical goods. Now you've probably all heard about siemens but not really about fujitsu and that's what could put some people off getting there laptops by thinking there a new brand and therefore not reliable. However, recently they have been making more laptops, all of which I think are very good, and its only just now that people are starting to respect them as a good laptop manufacturer too, and are now up to the likes of Acer and sony in the laptop business, however there still nowhere near as well recognised as dell are. Advantages: great all rounder

....4\" TFT active matrix screen which is smaller than some of the 17 inch screens previous amilo's have. However this could be a good point if you want a more portable laptop, so it really depends on how you look at it. The screen in its self is really good quality and for some reason all fujitsu amilo screens seem to be really good, this is great for watching movies on too. However a downside is the games, some newest games don't run as fast as they should and this can get really annoying so if you want a laptop specifically for gaming then just don't get this. Another downside of amilos compared to other laptop brands is that there battery life is somewhat rubbish. I must say the like has improved however its still not so good seen as this one only lasts 2.5 hours and its got a small screen, compared to an acer travelmate which lasts 3.5 hours... Read review

...After recently having a problem with A Fujitsu laptop which was still in warranty I recently contacted Fujistu to arrange to have the machine looked at. The problem with the machine appeared to be that the cable connecting the screen had fractured and needed replacing. After navigating the Support call system and speaking to several people regarding this fault we appeared to travel full circle and go back to the beginning explaining the fault and symptoms. Fujitsu seem to have a good support infrastructure and policy in place which just needs some fine tuning. They need to ensure that all information is relayed as required, and to appreciate that the users placing the call have different levels of experience. Advantages: Lightness, good RAM and Memory.
Disadvantages: Battery life.

...This computer for me was one of the best computers I have ever had and for me that is really good as I purchase a new laptop every 6 months. The advantages of buying this laptop is it's trully lightweight, huge 2GB RAM and 180MB whih is really good for the price that this is. On the other hand this laptop is prone to a bit slow for gaming but otherwise it can handle just fine. I use this for work, music and movies and software. Downloading is really quick. I got this as an offer from PC World for £350 which I thought was a fantastic deal at he time and still do. ...This Fujitsu Siemens laptop is yet another one from the amilo range. This Amilo Pi2515 model has great design and great build quality as well as being reasonably priced. The design of this laptop is great, I personally think it’s the best amilo laptop Fujitsu Siemens have made so far, and I think it will shape how they design other laptops in the future because it really is good looking. ..., my HD gave an terminal error, It broke down. (12months and 2 days). I Had to replace that (170 euro's). Now in the 14 month of me owning a amilo d1840 my adapter has exploded, and because it's an 20v 8A 4 pins adapter (which is unreplacable by an generic adapter) I have to wait for 2 weeks for an new adapter which costs me 120 euro's. This is probably the worst laptop I have ever owned! THis product is a shame for a company like Fujitsu. No reasonable support from fujitsu allthough they knew this notebook had these problems! In my comprehension this is no service, or good publicity for fujitsu, SO fujitsu, what are you people going to do about this! I could use some support for spending 2500 euro on your faulty product!!!... Read review

...My Fujitsu Siemens V7010 was purchased approx 3 1/2 years ago by my husband for me to use. He at that time already had his own laptop and was fed up of me using it so decided I needed one of my own. I like taking photographs and the added advantage of a slot for your Secure Digital Cards to be able to download them quickly without extra hardware was good. The modem is in-built and came with a selection of international adapters for using with the modem. There are fans to keep the hard drive cool and these are only run noisy if there is dust or dirt clogging them. I have used it to play DVD's and they play on here even if they won't run properly on our normal dvd players. The graphics on them are of a very good standard. ...this is another great laptop form the amilo range by fujitsu siemens brand. this has only just come out on 30 of august and has been mainly designed for use with video telephony, Internet chat, digital films and MP3 sound files. the AMILO Xi 2428 has a 15.4 inch screen and weighs 3kg, and can be configured with a second hard disk and software for double data security. the amilo xi features an Intel Centrino Duo processor with Intel Core 2 Duo processor up to T7700 which makes this run so much faster than the other amilo series and alot faster than most the laptops on the market. this laptop is bsically the smaller more portable version of the Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 2528. it weighs 1kg less and is a bit smaller. however its improved size doesnt effect its storage and memory and all the specs are the same, so basically if you want... ...Over all, this is a nice laptop. Slim and sharp design by Fujitsu Siemens Amilo makes it much thinner than it actually is. Intel Pentium M 1.7Ghz, Front Side Bus 400 Mhz seems not to be very powerful but it is not slow at all. Games like Counter Strike or Warcraft will have no problem. I've tried running Counter Strike at 1024x748 and the result was awsome, 99 frames per second. However, the mainboard and Bios are quite old. Intel 82855 doesn't support extending memory bandwidth for its Intel Extreme 2 Graphic Card like others do. 512 Mb PC2100 Ram doesn't seem to fit with the processor as its speed only at 266 Mhz. Replacing a new pair of Ram at 333 Mhz or 400 Mhz will give this laptop much more ability in multitasking and more chance to avoid crash. Advantages: Good all-rounder with decent spec, very portable and comes with Windows XP Pro
Disadvantages: Not as robust as a thinkpad, a hassle to install and hard disk gets quite warm

...Had the PC a couple of days and so far so good. My main criteria was to get an ultra-portable so at £600-800 this represents great value for a 1.7kg machine. That having been said it probably is not as robust as an equivalent Vaio or Thinkpad but these are often twice the price. Overall the machine is pretty well put together and looks very elegant. The keyboard could be a little firmer in its action however its not bad. The other real benefits are the WXGA screen (1200 pixels wide) which is an essential for my type of work and the inclusion of Windows XP Professional is great for business users. The system also comes with lots of connection options (4 USB2, Firewire, Network, modem, etc). Most of these are on the side. The external monitor connector is DVI, however my box had a converter so you use it on your existing monitor cable... Read review
