Samsung V25 P4 2.8 GHz Notebook
Review of Samsung V25 XVC 2800 - P4 2.8 GHz - 15.1" TFT by
HamRam
Advantages: Quality, design, performance
Disadvantages: No printed User Manual!
...I lucked-into this purchase, having initially bought a Dixons “generic” laptop with similar specifications, which ceased to function within four hours of getting it home. I replaced it at Comet with the V25 P4 2.8, for an additional £100. Thankfully, over the past four weeks the Samsung product has restored my feelings of pride in new ownership.
The first thing to notice about this machine is its slick design and excellent build-quality. Its casing is nicely put together, and doesn’t flex or warp. The keyboard has a nice positive feel to it, doesn’t bounce about like those on “cheapo” laptops – and doesn’t leave you feeling crippled after several hours typing. The touch-pad is easy to use and enables precise cursor positioning (though I use a PS/2 mouse for preference). The TEAC combo CD/DVD-RW is reassuringly robust. Samsung...

My Dream Machine CPU - P4 Prescott 2.8GHz
Review of Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor by
C_W_Monkey
Advantages: Very Fast, Latest technology
Disadvantages: Not 64 bit like AMD, heat problems
...In the second on my series of computer component reviews, I would like to offer you the Pentium 4 Prescott 2.8Ghz.
---------------------
Prescott?
---------------------
Intel have produced 5 versions of their pentium 4 range. The first was the Willamite which would only accept RD RAM and was very short lived. The next was the Northwood, which is the one which sits in most computers nowadays.
Then there's the ridiculously expensive Extreme Edition, for really silly gamers who want huge performance from their machines. And of course the P4-M for laptops. This processor is designed to give max performance on the move.
But there's a new version on the block called Prescott. This, I decided, was the chip for me.
Firstly, it's got the 800MHz front serial bus found in the later versions of the Northwood. The FSB speed makes...

Bad service and product on Fujitsu Amilo D1840
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO D 1840 - P4 3.2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
stnzx
Advantages: the price
Disadvantages: everything else
...ended, my HD gave an terminal error, It broke down. (12months and 2 days).
I Had to replace that (170 euro's).
Now in the 14 month of me owning a amilo d1840 my adapter has exploded, and because it's an 20v 8A 4 pins adapter (which is unreplacable by an generic adapter) I have to wait for 2 weeks for an new adapter which costs me 120 euro's.
This is probably the worst laptop I have ever owned! THis product is a shame for a company like Fujitsu.
No reasonable support from fujitsu allthough they knew this notebook had these problems!
In my comprehension this is no service, or good publicity for fujitsu, SO fujitsu, what are you people going to do about this! I could use some support for spending 2500 euro on your faulty product!!!...

Scaleo 600 P4 2.53
Review of Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO 600 - Athlon XP 2800+ 2.08 GHz by
techman1862
Advantages: Brilliant easy to use and you do get the windows xp disk
Disadvantages: none really
...and within our budget.
We purchased 2 FS P4 computers with 80 GB drives 2.53 CPU's and ATI graphic cards for £998 all in but without any other warranty.
That was in 2003. I am now using this same FS P4 computer to write this reveiw.
The scaleo in that time has been brilliant and proved 100% reliable. The back-up disks you get with FS computers (Still to this day) are the only company as far I know who still give the Windows XP disk and a driver disk......None of this partition stuff on the hard drive. which is good and when you think about it if you have windows on the hard drive as a partition and the drive goes(even when new and it does happen) you are in a world of hurt.
Fujitsu computers for us have been brilliant and as has been said already, when the warranty is up, you can upgrade them easy with plenty of room and they use...

another great laptop from fujitsu
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3505 Edition - Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: design and very qucik
Disadvantages: no webcam on there
...if you do like to watch movies on your laptop.
Movies do run very well on it however, this is because its screen actually has active matrix, this is being used by so much more laptop manufacturers nowadays as it makes the screen lighter, therefore making the laptop lighter, is makes the image quality so much better than a normal TFT screen and it also makes the response time a lot better, which makes videos look sharper, photos look sharper and game playing look better than ever before.
It does actually have a very impressive battery life, it lasts 4 hours which is on the verge of being a portable laptop, and it would certainly last as long as most portable laptops do, however it comes in a little heavier than most laptops that boast portability do, it weighs 2.8 kg, which still isn’t heavy but it might just be too much...

E600 Scenic
Review of Fujitsu Siemens SCENIC E600 - P4 2.8 GHz by
1988mike1988
Advantages: Very fast and reliable
Disadvantages: 40GB of memory
...Scenic e600 is OK for gaming but would be excellent for business. Its fast and reliable what more do you need. I did a nice upgrade to make it handle vista... i strongly recommend not putting vista on it due to it will not recognise the graphics driver and you need to use system graphics which is horrible. Now it just serves as a work computer.
The amazing 2.6Ghz which is has is the best feature of this desktop computer. Been serving me well for over 3 years i think and has never broken down... Its very reliable.
The 512Mb ram it comes with... get rid of it. Put about 4GB of ram in there and you got the perfect computer. Tried putting a Geforce 8800 card into.... did not fit so dont try and stick something big into it because it wont fit.
Can be very silent which is a lovely aspect of it, doesnt buzzzzzzz to much.
Can...

iv had better, yet it is quite good laptop.
Review of Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V5535 - Celeron M 530 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: not bad laptop
Disadvantages: gaming
...I recently bought this Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V5535 from ebuyer for £300 including vat. I had been looking around previously for a new laptop, but nothing too expensive, as I just need a cheap simple one to use until I can purchase a better one.
After looking around for a few weeks I came across this one on this site, I looked around for the same laptop and because I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else, I bought this one from them.
It took just over 3 weeks to arrive and it arrived safely and In fully working order.
The design of this laptop is ok, like I say this isn't anything special but it's a great laptop if you want great value for money. It looks quite business like, meaning it's a bit basic, however it wouldn't look out of place in a teenagers bed room either.
Its really portable too, it only has a 15.4...
