another great laptop from fujitsu
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3505 Edition - Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  techno_man_37

Advantages: design and very qucik
Disadvantages: no webcam on there

...without spending a silly amount on a laptop. For example, you could buy a 3 gb or even 4 gb of ram laptop, however these would go over the £1500 or even £2000 mark. Whereas this laptop only costs around £500 which for 2 gb of ram is a great price. Its doesn’t disappoint in hard drive space either, as it delivers a very impressive 160 gb of storage for all your files to be saved on. I certainly have never needed a laptop with more than 160 gb and have never even filled a laptop with over 80 gb of data before, however its always good to know you can basically put whatever you want on your laptop and the space will never run out. The screen size of this laptop is 15.4 inches. Which is around the average, and will be ok for basic laptop needs. Its not a great size for watching movies on however, and you might find it a little small... Read review

GREAT Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook C1110
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook C1110 - Pentium M 1.4 GHz - 15.1" TFT by  tom_tom66

Advantages: cheap, easy to use ,all your internet need, good dvd rom/cd-rw
Disadvantages: quite slow on start up

...Ive had this laptop now for about a year and i havent had anything wrong with it but to be honest it isnt the best laptop in the world as it is abit slow when loading up and it could do with a bigger hard drive as it only has a 20gb. but if you only want a laptop to go the internet ,read your e-mails and to watch and burn dvds i would highly recommend it to anyone and as it is a bit old you can get one for around £149.99 which is realy cheap for a laptop which to be honest isnt that bad! and im sure if you have a look on ebay you could get one fo around £70 which would be a bargin! so if you are looking for a laptop which is cheap and does all the your internet , email and media needs you need to get yourself a Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook C1110.... Curry Good. Hard Drives Bad.
Review of IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30 GB by  yhwman

Advantages: The world seems to have good drives
Disadvantages: I had TWO dodgy ones

...I just thought I'd add that these drives should be avoided, IBM is being sued as these drives are consistantly bad. See www.theregister.co.uk for more. Here’s a joke for you, what comes in pairs, is square, black, round and makes strange clicking noises. My rather non-functional pair of 30 gigabyte (1024 megabytes if you’re buying, 1000 megabytes if you’re selling) IBM hard drives which are, or rather were, in a RAID array (RAID 101 – join two disks together and get twice the speed and capacity, although that’s a very simple definition) that in itself wasn’t working to well (But that’s another story). But I’m getting ahead of myself, I first got these drives last November (Indeed it was the first thing my writing bought for me), when life became to cramped on my 17gig Fujitsu drive that came with my computer. A brief bit... Read review

Fujitsu Myrica Pentium 166MMX - Old but still good
Review of Fujitsu Siemens Myrica Series by  iamdriver

Advantages: Upgradeability, accessability, standard components
Disadvantages: Although helpful, the support and maintenance could be better, in particular the engineers attending need to be more considerate on the stressing of cables I think, and need to not simply resort to reinstalling windows as the catch all solution

...I originally bought this machine over 3 years ago now, and although I initially had some concerns over the sound card quality, and the usual Windows installation problems. I did manage to get reasonable support from the Fujitsu ICL helpdesk. I eventually managed to get the sound card replaced, even though there seemed to be some question as to whether the card was in fact faulty. On a particular piece of software the quality of the sound was unbearable, and although it did seem to improve after the new sound card, it did not become totally improved. One of the main advantages of buying a relatively expensive machine like the Fujitsu, has been in the realive ease of upgrading it. Even things like adding Hard Drives are all taken care of with the cables and connectors all being provided to make this reasonably painless. On other machines... Read review

a truely portable laptop
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S6410 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  techno_man_37

Advantages: portability
Disadvantages: price tag

...about 160 gb of hard drive, or at least 120. But this laptop however only has 80 gb of storage space built in. I don’t know whether to class this as a downside as I know everyone wants the most they can get, but honestly do you really need more than 80 gb of hard drive? Well I certainly know I don’t and I guess most people don’t either, so this 80 gb should really be enough and not a downside to the laptop at all. The reason why this one is so portable it down to mainly its incredible weight. Moe laptops weigh over 3 kg, this one however only weighs 1.8 kg. this is a really light weight for any laptop, but the main reason why its this light is because they have compromised a bit on the screen size. Its only 13.3 inches. Also making it so portable Is its incredible 7 hours of battery life, which is certainly the most... Read review

Freecom 400GB external USB Hard drive
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 400 GB by  ilaskey

Advantages: Fast, high capacity storage. Well built, looks good. 2 year warranty, No fan.
Disadvantages: No fan.

...Freecom before as they've always looked a bit cheap and nasty so this would be an interesting experience. The box did feel reassuringly heavy though, a good start. ############### # What's in the Box? ############### Apart from the drive, the box contained a small light external PSU, a USB lead and a CD with some backup software. The case is made of extremly solid and heavy aluminium with a silver plastic front piece with a sexy blue '400GB' light (yes, you can have sexy lights. Really.) at the front just to prove how big it was. The finish is excellent and I have to say, if this is anything to go by, I'm converted to Freecom. Unlike the picture here, my unit has the aluminium finished in matt black which looks really nice on top of my black PC. It's also surprisingly compact - not that much bigger than a hard drive at 20x11.5x4 cms... Read review

How long will it take to fill this drive?
Review of Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 400 GB by  saucy77

Advantages: Size and speed
Disadvantages: None

...in the mainboard's bios if you have SATA on board and within the SATA bios menu. This can be access using a hot key... on my GA700N-Pro2 this key is F4. As with all Seagate drive's you get a 5 year warranty which you can RMA directly back to Seagate. Unlike the 13gb Fujitsu ATA drive originally in my PC which I purchased in 2000 and died in 2001... I did purchase a 3 yr extended warranty, but TIME wouldn't honour it unless my whole PC was identical to when I bought it... not likely with the way technology is growing these days. For those who have never had a Fujitsu drive, I would recommend not buying one for this factor alone. Seagate have even given me a 5 yr warranty on my replacement drive... Bonus! Can you get any better service than that??... Read review

Xbox 360 120GB Hard Drive
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Hard Drive Hard drive 120 GB by  jammyd0

Advantages: Lots of space for all your gaming needs.
Disadvantages: Price, Dust, Missing GB

...My personal experience with the Xbox 360 hard drive has been fairly positive. The ability to store music, films, videos and of course games saves is one that no Xbox gamer should be without. 120 GB of memory is more than enough for the average gamer. The hard drive is well designed to blend with the console perfectly. It is small and easy to store. However the price is pretty heavy compared to the cheaper 20GB versions. A problem with the memory is the fact that the hard drive does not actually have 120GB, obviously it wouldn't be exactly due to the need for the running files but several GB are actually missing. Regular cleaning is advised as dust tends to collect on the hard drive but a sharp blow into the docking port is sufficient to clear this. All in all this product is an incredibly useful addition to any Xbox 360 gamers... Read review

Internal 80 GB Hard drive.
Review of Acer Hard drive 80 GB by  yassarikhan786

Advantages: Quick transfer speed,
Disadvantages: Fairly Bulky

...What can i say this is an internal had-drive which obviously integrates within a computer system. Nowadays 80GB is not enough for anyone as programs are now increasing in size due to their complexity and what they have to offer. A hard drive is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Non-volatile storage is simply the name given to a storage device which can retain stored data even when not powered. With a volatile storage device being one that can not retain saved data e.g. RAM (Random Access Memory). I used to have an 80 GB hard drive in the past on my "OLD" PC, which was about 5 years ago. Now i have a 300 GB hard drive which i have to admit is filling up really quickly. Due to the number of files stored e.g music, photo, video etc. This particular... Read review

Seagate External Hard Drive 120GB
Review of Seagate Hard drive 120 GB by  lilyellowfish

Advantages: Great invention, reasonable price, large capacity
Disadvantages: Bulky, noisy

...is approx. 3.5 inches in height, 10 inches across and 3.5 inches deep. When it is running it is also has quite a loud buzzing noise, which can be quite tedious. The hard drive has 120GB and can store approx. 2,000 hours of digital music, 38,400 digital photos, 120 hours of digital video or 60 PC games. You are able to store digtal photos, videos, music, DVD's, Business Documents and Emails on the hard drive. The hard drive has a 7200-RPM spin speed and a 2-MB cache buffer, BounceBack Express software for fast and easy back up, built-in self-monitoring technology and is also compatible with Windows and Macintosh platforms. I have found this hard drive really useful, no longer does my laptop get filled up, it also runs faster. I am able to store all large documents/music/games on the external hard drive which prevents the slow... Read review
