A Lifebook to make Life Easier
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T4210 - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
Odysseus4
Advantages: Really small and easy to transport
Disadvantages: Gets a little hot plus finding a smaller enough case not easy!
...My husband bought this laptop to replace our large and ageing Toshiba laptop - without telling me I might add, but I am so pleased with it that I forgive him easily! For the technically minded (which I am not very) the following are the specs:
Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook T4120
Intel T2400 @ 1.83Ghz Core Duo
512mb Memory
12.1" LCD Display
CD/DVD Re-writer
Running Windows XP Pro Tablet PC Version
The main selling point for us (OK well for him) was the compact size and relatively light weight. The machine is fast and silent but does get rather hot if used for long periods - which means I need to get a lap tray for my husband's knees! Battery life (in the real world) is an acceptable 2 hours or so.
Now - what makes this laptop different from others on the market is that the screen rotates and folds down over the keyboard...

fantastic laptop, for all tose travelers
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S7210 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: portability
Disadvantages: hard drive space and ram, (for some).
...Fujitsu is a company that operates under the well known Siemens brand. They are now making more laptops than ever and coming out with fantastic new models of laptops all the time.
This model, the lifebook was designed and made for al those people, who for whatever needs, want a good looking laptop which is very portable to take around with them. This laptop takes in all these demands and incorporates them into its specification and fabulous build quality.
It great to see a laptop that’s not only meant for business like people, but also looks great too. This is something that the acer travel mates just never managed to get right as they always designed their laptops with one colour scheme and boring design all the time.
This laptop however has a great look to it. It kind of looks quite cube like, which in this case is very...

Is it wrong to love a machine so much?
Review of Sony VAIO FE31M - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
podgepig
Advantages: Attractively Designed / Excellent Performance
Disadvantages: erm...
...Good day and welcome to my review of the wondrous, the sublime, the fantabulous, the wonderiffic, the somewhat shiny, merry laptop of joyous tidings that is the catchily named Sony VGN - FE31M. (The very name itself, sends shivers of anticipation... or perhaps eyebrow - raising bemusement... down your spine)
To kick off my review in a predictable, inevitable and somewhat tedious way I shall bombard you with technical waffle, the likes of which you have never seen! (well, maybe you have if you have read the box it comes in).
Processor:
Yep, it has one. The sturdy little workhorse that is known to those in the know as "The Intel Core 2 Duo T5600".
Now, to those of you who, like me, uttered oaths upon the lines of "Yeah, what's one of them things then?" (or other more profane variations), this is a Dual Core (yep two...

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!
Review of Sony VAIO BX396XP - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
damont
Advantages: Outstanding performance
Disadvantages: Battery life poor
...desktop PC or more.
I was aware that the Sony brand had long been established in this particular market and more to the point had become well respected, hence my decision to plumb for this model.
What you get for your money
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()
In a nutshell, you are buying a Sony laptop with 1.83 Ghz Dual Core technology, 1Gb Ram, 80Gb Hard drive and a DVD writer.
I will go into further details regarding the spec of the laptop throughout the review and finally list the full specification at the end.

This in essence is the brains of the unit and also my first experience of the world of dual core. Installed is the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600 with a front side bus of 667Mhz.

Lenovo 3000 N100 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz
Review of Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
clivefallon
Advantages: High Spec, Powerful, Comfortable to use, System management
Disadvantages: Small touch pad, poor mouse buttons, poor sound from speakers
...try to watch a good movie unless you're using headphones or plugged into an external speaker system.
Connectivity - The Laptop I am using has a built in 56k modem, wifi enabled, bluetooth, ethernet connection and firewire. There is a button to disable the wireless connections (wifi and Bluetooth).
The CD tray is actually a double layer DVD burner, maybe a little overkill for a laptop in my opinion, but handy to have I suppose.
Now, from what I gather, this laptop has a 1.8Ghz Intel Core Duo processor, 512Mb ram, A GE Force graphics card and an 80 Gb hard drive. I have to say I have played a couple of games including FIFA07, Deer Hunter and Settlers 2 and they've ran well, very well. I don't sopend a lit of time playing games though so can't give a good review of the graphics card. I'm currently working on some web stuff...

Laptop reliable and with good performances
Review of Acer Aspire 5684WLMi - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
rospikk
Advantages: good performances
Disadvantages: Delicate plasticses
...didn't know it; it is a variation of Windows XP on purpose studied for the domestic diversion, it allows the immediate selection of the contained multimedia as filmed passages musical presentations and other). I would Sincerely have preferred the version professional on this model, the choice of the house it inserts this portable in the category of domestic rather than professional Notebook.
Processor: The installed processor is a Core 2 Duos from 1,83Ghz (- Merom - this new generation of processors, on the wake of predecessors, it optimizes the computation of the operations getting a 20% profit both in the performances and in the consumption in comparison to the Core Duo. With some nostalgia I signal you that, for now definitive, from Intel to abandon the name 'PENTIUM' for future processors).
Display: The panel WXGA is of 15...

great, but pricey
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S7210 - Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: price
...Fujitsu Siemens have been making laptops for a while now, when they started making them at first I was a little sceptical of how good they would be, because they had no other previous history in designing or making laptops.
However Fujitsu Siemens are now in my top list of laptops I would buy or recommend to people and probably just come in third under dell and Sony vaio laptops.
Fujitsu Siemens have made quite a few different models, there has been the amilo, the esprimo, and now, the life book.
All of these 3 different models have loads of other laptops branching out to suit your needs and different price ranges so there really is a lot to choose from.
The basic concept of the life book is a simple laptop that’s easy to carry around, without compromising on performance and that has great battery life to last you...

Great laptop, slightly overpriced
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv9385ea Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
cornzee
Advantages: Look & Design, Performance & Spec, Extra Features
Disadvantages: Robustness & Price
...This is one of the top end Hp pavilion laptop with a 17inch screen and excellent specification, although it does come at a price and a hefty one at that.
Speed:
With a dual core 1.83 GHz Intel Centrino processor and 2GB of RAM this laptop is very fast. Start up time is speedy, applications open up quickly, big files load equally speedily too. The dual core processor means several applications can be handled at once and several different processes as well. There can be some lag on opening up huge files but nothing that is unexpected – even the very best of computers have lag. It isn’t as fast as the 2 GHz Hp Pavilion dv9399ea but nothing that is too noticeable, not for a £300 price difference at least.
Look and Feel:
As HP put it themselves - Wrapped up in the HP Imprint finish, this sleek and shiny notebook will look good...

Sony Vaio AR12M Mobile Media center
Review of Sony VAIO AR21M - Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
Chris745
Advantages: Powerful, Massive screen, Dual core, Fantastic media center,
Disadvantages: Large form factor, low battery life
...The first thing to strike me about the AR21M was the sheer size of the thing, immediately I began to have doubts as to how portable this system would be. I was pleasantly surprised however to find that despit its size it really wasnt too heavy. Size aside how does this machine perform? Well the beast is powered by an Intel core 2 duo CPU at 1.83Ghz, with 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a GeForce 7600 graphics card so should be able to cope with just about anything you throw at it., and BOY DOES IT!! As an avid gamer (When I get time at least) I was Eager to try a couple of the latest titles on it and had no trouble at all playing MOTW II, Oblivion and Mark of Chaos at top resolutions with all the features on, the system did get quite warm but I invested in a notebook cooler for around £20 which the vaio sits on top of and is kept ice cold by...

another great laptop from fujitsu
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V3505 Edition - Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: design and very qucik
Disadvantages: no webcam on there
...to be carrying around with you all day.
It has few extra features, it has a built in 3 in 1 card reader which is handy, but it’s a shame to not see a built in webcam, not only because it’s a great feature, but I think it would look good on this laptop too, so that’s a shame.
Well this laptop defiantly is a great looking piece of equipment which also runs very quick too, and its also very cheap at £500. I think the main reason is because it’s a Fujitsu siemens and I think if this was labelled a dell, it would certainly be at least another £100 dearer.
That being said it doesn’t make it any worse quality as dells are, in fact I do prefer a lot of Fujitsu laptops over dells, so just don’t let the name put you off, ever....
