Siemens KG36P320 Fridge Freezer

Advantages: Very quiet running; "A" efficiency rating
Disadvantages: Not 'frost-free'

...I bought a KG36P320 from BE Direct for £474.99 in August 2004. It?s finished in white, with brushed stainless steel handles. The reasons that I chose this fridge/freezer over other similarly sized ones were: * It was reported to be very quiet while running * ?A? Rating for energy efficiency * Digital temperature controls * Two compressors * Siemens? reputation I haven?t been disappointed ? it really does run very quietly. My kitchen is next to my main living area and I used to hear my previous (Hotpoint) fridge/freezer running all the time. The Siemens I only notice when everything else is silent. Dell 5150 3.06Ghz (P4 HT), 80Gb/512Mb DVD+R

Advantages: Speed, big HD, High res screen
Disadvantages: fan positioning, heat, heavy PSU

...I was after a desktop replacement that offered a really high res screen (1600x1200), big hard drive and a fast CPU. After much looking around, it seemed like the Dell 5150 fitted the bill. The price was too high though so I kept an eye on Dell's refrurbished/cancelled orders site, Dell Outlet until one turned up at about 35% off the list price. Deal done. I got a free wireless keyboard/mouse, free USB memory stick and reduced delivery in to the bargain. The machine is a couple of years old now so some of the spec isn't exactly leading edge but at the time it was state of the art: 3.06Ghz HT CPU. The HT = Hyperthreading which means the CPU can do more than one thing at a time and appears to Windows as 2 seperate CPUs. The modern version, done properly as 2 real CPUs in a chip is the Core Duo range from Intel or the X2's from AMD...

...an average size which you would expect to see anywhere. You have a 15.4 inch which is about standard for most laptops and nothing which is over the top. The screen resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels which in my view could be better but it is overall a very good resolution to have for a computer. There is 320 GB of memory on this computer. The memory is spread over 2 hard drivers and each with 160 GB attached to it. I think the amount you get in memory is very good and most laptops have half of this total. There is a 2mb cache which again is very good most laptops have just 1mb cache and with it being 2mb cache means the computer runs better. The processor itself is only 2 GHz and I have to admit I think it lets the computer down slightly. You have fantastic values for everything else but the overall processor sort of lets it down a bit...

The notebook has good fast speed processor with Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 having total clock speed of about 2.4 GHz. Other feature of this processor is, it has good advanced 1066 MHz of front side bus speed and L2 cache size is about 3 MB. If we think about this processor than it is good enough for any notebook PC. The technology is multicore processing unit with two combined core in which we can do multi work with same time. We can scan our computer for viruses and can use any application as on same time. The will be no speed loss at all. The front side data bus speed is also very good and it provided good speed for any application. L2 cache size is slightly lower as in this king of processor...

Fujitsu Scenic PC's

Advantages: Very small footprint / Ideal for limited space
Disadvantages: Only 3 PCI Slots and 1 Eisa (Shared)

...Whilst recently updating Workstations on my LAN we recently have purchased several Fujitsu Scenic PC's. These machines have proven very reliable and efficient for the money that we have spent upon the units (£420.00 + VAT each) Considering that these machines are running PIII550 processors with 64Mb memory and a 10Gb hardrive as standard they can handle most basic office aapplications required in a general office enviroment. The unit comes with Windows 98SE pre-installed as standard, soundcard, keyboard and mouse. The only disadvantage that we have discovered with these machines is that they only have 3 x PCI slots and 1 x EISA slot making expandability a little probelamatic for certain hardware requirements, but overall for general value for money and reliability I would recommend this machine as excellent value for money...
