Calculator Chaos
Advantages: None really
Disadvantages: Really confusing to use
...I have to use a calculator at work, so when my old one finally gave up on me, the company I work for supplied me with another - a Casio fx - 85ms.
I've had it for about 6 months now and I still have no idea how to use it.
The calculator is approximately 15cm by 9 cm and is only 1.5cm thick. It weighs a mere 138g so feels quite light for quite a large calculator. It is two way powered (solar power or 1.5V battery) and comes in a greyish - black plastic.
It has a flat cover that can be slid off and on to protect the calculator front when not in use. There is a two-line display that makes it possible to view both the calculation formula and its result at the same time.
The Casio fx - 85ms comes with clearly displayed numbers and signs (such as addition, multiplication etc.). It is divided into three main sections. The bottom...

Casio fx-83EX is a great school calculator!
Advantages: See Review
Disadvantages: See Review
...will be some useful functions on these type of calculators (like solving quadratic equation and drawing out graph transformations etc.) that you cannot do on the Casio fx-83EX. But even now, at university, i still keep this calculator as it is so easy to use and has useful functions that you sometimes don't even get on the very expensive calculators!
I would definitely recommend this product!
Another last note is to say that to be honest, you don't even need to bother with the instruction manual as it is so simple to use and it is a commonly used calculator in schools so the teachers are bound to know how to do everything!...

Casio Calculator
Advantages: Good Price, Does that it says it will, Solar powered
Disadvantages: None that i can think of
...I bought this calculator at my local woolworths as i was after a scientific calculator and one that was cheap(i paid under £10 for this one which seemed a good price).
The calculator is made by Casio which are a well known brand for making anything from calculators to TV's . The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is a light too which is a bonus.
The keys are large enough for most people and all the writing is clear on and above the keys.
This scientific calculator with has 249 functions (164 scientific functions) - including statistic functions. It is primarily aimed at secondary school student but i reckon it will be fine for almost any function unless you need the functions of a graphic calculator
It is solar powered so it doesn't require any batteries in order to function however as with all solar powered products, you just...

Casio the wonder calculator!
Advantages: Reliable, Long battery life and very handy!
Disadvantages: Long mathmatical equation inputting not so good.
...This Casio calculator has been at my side for approximately at least 5years now, and is in more demand now than previous use. I have used this calculator in 3 main areas.
1. General GCSE
2. Chemistry and Biology A-level and now
3. Chemistry degree (first year only so far?)
GCSE:
Harking back to the good ole days (why are they called the good ole days? Someone please tell me why!) My calculator joined me in my quest of maths at the tender age of 13, where the most advanced calculations it was asked to do was to deal with are such aspects as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, powers and bracketed equations. These are the basics of most maths until a level maths, and on these small calculations it doesn?t fail. One would think that if it did it wouldn?t really be a good calculator! (By the way...

Casio Calculator
Advantages: Functions, colour, 2 way power
Disadvantages: too complex to use
...I bought this calculator for my A level examinations. It is terribly handy, I do a lot of maths and be it calculus, vectors, complex numbers or statistics, this calculator will help you a lot. Not only does it boast 403 functions, and most of the keys look like that should be on a UFOs spaceship, if you read the handbook and know how to access and use the functions it is great. These functions are not ones that allow you to cheat ( sadly :P) but they do provide a good basis to check your answers, which can be very valuable when you have no clue whether you good be right or not.
Also it comes with a solar panel, providing two way power, meaning you dont have to be scared about whether it would stop in the middle of an exam....

Casio! - Perfect for GCSE!
Advantages: Many many functions! Perfect for GCSE andmaybe alevel candidates!
Disadvantages: Could be too complicated
...Mine cost me £9.99! Similar to the competition! However, i knew that this was the calculator that i needed!
It provides all the necessary functions to succeed at G.C.S.E. level maths, chemistry, physics and biology! I even used it during my graphics exam!
the caulator has many different modes and sometimes this is a down fall, because depending wat mode it is on you could get two different answers to the same question such as in trigonometry! Which i found out the hard way in my mock exams! Hence i would stress it is very important to read the instructions before using this model in any external examinations! However it is also an advantage if you know how to use it because there is an endless possibility of calculations that could be performed.!
So, it performs well and suits its purpose! On th other hand it is a great size...

The Simple,Stylish,Concise FX-85ES Calculator
Advantages: Good and easy to use interface, sytlish, clear and concise
Disadvantages: None, really
...Casio has invented a new model of calculator. With textbook display and good functions, maths students will be very pleased! It has a simple to use interface with over 100 functions. It has been developed from the FX85MS which was also a great calculator. It is also solar-powered.
It is stylish and looks really good. With a case to protect it when it's not being used it saves the calculator from being damaged in most cases (water sipllages).
The calculator comes with a instructions manual which contains all the relevant uses for the calculator and ways to use and how to use the diffferent functions on the calculator.
The calculator can erase it's memory and be used in 3 different modes depending on the type of maths.
It is available in all good retail shops (stationery box, sainsburys and tescos +maany more). For a price...

Casio FX 85 ES
Advantages: The new casio natural display and solar power
Disadvantages: I'll explain in the review
...Ok the Casio FX 85 ES is simply put the best calculator available on the market that can be used in exams. Casio have recently been working with the Joint Examination board to ensure it's new "student" calculators do not break the rules-so no worries there students!
So this natural display-what is it? Basically it allows you to type on the screen as if you were writing it in your book, for example squares roots are real on there and you can do fractions properly. I find it incredibly easy to use and it has gained me an A so far in my A-levels (i'm not that clever honest).
Personally i wouldn't read the instructions-merely use them for reference and work everything out on your own-it's easy enough.
The calculator boasts all the normal functions including memory storage, radians degrees and gradians functions...

Casio fx-83MS
Advantages: simple, easy to use
Disadvantages: outdated
...This is the Casio FX 83MS Scientific Calculator, for typical use at high school level. This is what you need to keep up in maths at school at GCSE level and beyond. The extra functions of a scientific calculator are necessary for this level of work and are still useful even if you just want to use a calculator simply.
Anyway, that applies for any scientific calculator, now what about this one? This is a Casio which is a good sign straight off. Casio is one of the leading brands in the scientific calculator market keeping one step ahead of the rest at all times. Now the recent 'natural display' releases from leading firms are a definite improvement on these originals as they show fractions in the form they are written amongst other things but this is still good enough. There are many different versions of the Casio scientific...

All you need for daily/school usage
Advantages: Meets all school/college requirements, durable and quite easy to use.
Disadvantages: None
...Highly recommended for anyone needing a more-than-basic calculator.
Perhaps most suited to students, anywhere from secondary school to University, this Casio will meet all and more than the requirements for any school syllabus. In my opinion, just as useful in offices.
Over 2 years in which I used this calculator to help my A-Levels, it quickly became my friend, helping me save very precious time during exams. The fx-85MS took impressively little time to get used to. This particular model is approved by the pre-Uni exam boards, as, unlike more scientific models, it does not have certain "banned" functions.
Perfect size: screen is (and has remained) clear and big enough, main buttons easy to find. The removable lid prevents the appliance from getting damaged and gives tips on usage at the same time. I...
