Great Motherboard
Review of Gigabyte GA-8KNXP - motherboard - ATX - i875P by
suuklit
Advantages: Excellent board layout
Disadvantages: none.
...Gigabyte motherboards have always put out some best packages in the market today.
The Gigabyte GA-8KNXP-D has begun to develop a wireless card for their high-end motherboards, and they have done so with the GA-8ANXP-D. They have the latest technology of their DPS unit, the U-Plus DPS. This unit provides for an additional four phases for the core voltage power supply, and comes with a heatpipe cooling solution. Additional phases for the vcore allow for a smoother power delivery, and the load can be better distributed.
Gigabyte has added in two options which provide support for additional USB 2.0 ports which brings the USB 2.0 total to seven ports. Installing this motherboard is a breeze because it includes a large, fold-out style installation guide that will help first time and novice users to properly install all of the required...

Gigabyte GA-965GM-S2
Review of Gigabyte GA-965GM-S2 - motherboard - micro ATX - iG965 by
byprozac
Advantages: Cheap and very stable
Disadvantages: The Instruction manual needs improvement.
...The GA-965GM-S2 is based on the Intel 965 chipset with support for all current versions of the LGA 775 processor including 1066 FSB processors. If you choose Windows Vista, this motherboard is certified Vista ready. The integrated graphics X3000 (Intel GMA X3000) are strong enough to support business applications, general computer use, Web surfing or email. Even if It has 256 bits and pixel shader 4 it won't hold up to most games. This motherboard could be built into a strong gaming machine or even a formidable LAN box. Even the most hardcore gamers would be more then happy to include into LAN going arsenal so if you're looking for a Mini ATX motherboard, then look no further then the GA-965GM-S2 you won't be disappointed. I know i'm not:)...

Motherboard by Gigabyte
Review of Gigabyte GA-945P-DS3 - motherboard - ATX - i945P by
MAllen400
Advantages: cheap, does the job
Disadvantages: graphics card obscures one of the pci express slots
...Having no idea which Motherboard we needed to buy, we looked on the internet to see what was going for what price.
Having used Gigabye Motherboards in the past and never had any trouble with them the wisest thing to do was to keep to Gigabyte.

Gigabyte GA-7VT880- The best in its class platform
Review of Gigabyte GA-7VT880-L - motherboard - ATX - KT880 by
midwintertears
Advantages: Satisfactory performance, efficiency, great quality for low budget
Disadvantages: Minor problems installing, problems recognising different RAM types
...The Gigabyte GA-7VT880 is indubitably the fastest socket-A platform still available on the market. It was designed for Athlons mainly, but Semprons work with just as efficiently. It supports 400 MHz DDR-SDRAM sticks; with two identical 256 MB sticks working in Dual Channel, Windows XP runs smoothly with all the visual effects on. Since it is not a 64-bit platform, executing a large amount of applications at once can cause the system to freeze, but that is quite obvious anyway. The motherboard works very efficiently with IDE and SATA hard drives - copying 4.7 gigabytes from one drive to the other takes no more than 8 minutes - that is about 10 MB per second. The SATA RAID configuration has its own Graphical User Interface; therefore manipulating the drives' settings could not be easier. The AGP 8X slot is a budget gaming solution...

GA-8I945GMF
Review of Gigabyte GA-8I945GMF - motherboard - micro ATX - i945G by
naza911
Advantages: Full of Features.
Disadvantages: Could support Core2 Duo but no BIOS Yet.
...This is a very good motherboard. I have had it for a few years on a Pentium 4 machines and it runs very well. It supports DDR2 RAM which gets a lot better memory speed. Also support Dual Core processors which can boot system performace. Some handy features for me are the Wake On Lan. The BIOS has all the options that you would expect and more. Gigabyte supply all the things you need like the manual, which is very informative, the backplate, drivers disc. it comes with some good tools for overclocking, system monitoring, and updating the BIOS Via windows. It has a firewire port which i find useful as many motherboard of it league do not. It PCI-E so supports all the latests graphics cards and it does have a built in one as well. 7.1 Surround sound. It a simple and small motherboard....

The Amazing GA-P35-DS3R from Gigabyte
Review of Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - motherboard - ATX - iP35 by
xzibit89
Advantages: Great performance, unbelievable overclocking, high quality
Disadvantages: Large Vdroop, Easytune temperamental, IDE socket placement may cause problems
...I recently wrote a review for the Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L board. I wrote of how the board seemed excellent, but the two I used broke within a week, for no apparent reason.
This board is another storey. The installation was very easy, especially as the board is slightly thinner than standard ATX boards, which allows more room to work in. All the connectors on the board are in sensible positions. The only problem I encountered was that the IDE socket gets in the way of one of the PCI cards - it fits, but it's a bit of a squeeze.
The BIOS offers all options you would expect, including RAID and NCQ setups for the 8 SATA ports provided.
It is when it comes to overclocking that this board excels. My FSB will run at at least 450MHz, 117 higher than the stock 1333Mhz. There are various voltage options, including CPU, memory, northbridge...

Review of Gigabyte GA-7IX motherboard - ATX - AMD-751 by
Shaunc
Advantages: Stable in use.
Disadvantages: AGPx2 only, 750 buggy chipset, No CS from Gigabyte.
...The 7ix has now been superceded by the 7ixe. My experience with the original 7ix has been a very unhappy one. To be fair to gigabyte, the problems i encountered are mainly down to the chipset it uses, the AMD 750.
This chipset has a number of bugs/limitations as I discovered. Its limitations are a 2X only AGP speed (4X is the standard). If using a Geforce graphics card (as I do) then you will be limited to 1X only due to a bug in the 750. Another limitation is the lack of overclocking facilities (if you are into this kind of thing). The FSB is locked at 100mhz and cannot be changed.
Support from Gigabyte is legendary.... for being none-existant. Gigabyte provide no aftersales support whatsoever for any of their products, another reason not to buy.
So, any good points? Well maybe. The 7ix is very stable. Bios upgrades can be found...

Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L
Review of Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L - motherboard - ATX - nForce 650i SLI by
xzibit89
Advantages: Great performance, reasonable price, no obvious problems
Disadvantages: Severe lifespan issues - do any last more than a few weeks?
...Let me start by saying that this is one amazing motherboard, at a reasonable price.
The installation of the board is very simple, with most of the connectors in useful positions, and no issues with large after market heat sinks. One thing I found especially good about this board is that it is slightly smaller than ATX - the height is the same, but the width is less. This means you can have a bit more space if your case is usually cramped.
The performance of this board is also very good, with 1333Mhz FSB and DDR800, along with SLI. Full voltage and temperature monitoring is also available.
As far as overclocking is concerned, this motherboard does not disappoint. The memory and FSB speeds can be set almost independently, and there are voltage options for many items, including FSB, northbridge and southbridge. The EasyTune software...
