Rolls Royce of Appliances
Review of Gaggenau by
missydoc
Advantages: High quality, designer product
Disadvantages: Price
...I have worked with Gaggenau appliances for more than 4years and my confidence grows on the brand every day. Many of you may not have heard of the brand, maybe due to the fact it not being a common household appliance such as Neff and Bosch that are available in large stores like Comet and Curries but a brand above the norm and available through middle to high end kitchen retailers.
The History:
Gaggenau is a name of a small town in Germany. In 1880, whilst the Industrial Revolution helped people with ideas, a factory in the small town of Gaggenau was the place known for where products 'came to life'. It was a place that manufactured enameled signs, coal and gas stoves and bicycles.
Gaggenau became a known brand internationally after 1961 when a passionate chef took over the reins of the factory and started to manufacturer top...

Excellent value for the money
Review of Leisure LEVC66W by
smithnt
Advantages: Low cost, Easy to clean, Easy to use oven timer. Two ovens.
Disadvantages: None.
...This was a replacement for a very expensive and some what ageing Hoptpint cooker that had suffered more than a few things going wrong in the last stages of its life. the repair would have been so expensive that if looked better, economically, to by a new cooker.
The LEC66W was the cooker I chose from a firm called aplianceplanet on the Internet.
The price, particuarly from applianceplanet.co.uk is about £370 and they can take your old cooker away too for about £8.00
The cooker looks and is extremely good value and I would recommend it completely.
The oven timer is particuarly easy to use and the capacity is large enough for our family needs. It is also easy to clean.
The overall appearance is quite modern and has all the features I really need....

Well Built
Review of Electrolux EKT6045X by
jenniferfh
Advantages: Fully Featured
Disadvantages: Not Cheap
...Bought new in March 2007, I have had to get used to using electricity for cooking as I was using gas for many years.
The cooker is built very well and has a sturdiness about it that seems lacking in other cookers. On delivery, I noticed a large defect inside the top oven. The stayclean lining was gouged away and I had the cooker changed by Electrolux in only 3 days.
First impressions was that the cooker was much slower to heat up than I had been used to, but that is typical for electric cookers.
Five months later, I amused to the heating and cooking at a more gentle pace and the results are better than with gas. The obvious statement is that it is much cleaner. Especially with a ceramic hob, this is a main advantage.
The controls are much easier to use than expected and although as said in another review it is possible to turn...

Love To Cook
Review of Baumatic BT2430 by
mshah786uk
Advantages: Very Easy to Use - Perfect
Disadvantages: Finger Prints!!! You don't feel like touching the Cooker!!
...The Perfect Cooker? Are you looking for the perfect cooker? Has your old one worn out? Well the Best one to buy is the new latest Baumatic BT2430. Its not only cheap but very straightforward and convenient to use. There's no more hassle - no lots of little buttons which you don't know the meaning of - Its simply straight forward. I just bought this cooker almost 2 days ago.
*The Appearance*
Well I don't know where to start. Its Perfect! The colour of the cooker is silver, it has a matt finish. The burners are black and the gas knobs are also black and are made of plastic. The cooker also has four adjustable legs, which are again, silver. The oven door is very large and made of glass. It compliments the cooker as the silver and mirror effect work very well together. The cooker is freestanding and has 4 adjustable legs. The legs...

New world
Review of New World Gas Cooker by
dannyflay
Advantages: Easy to use for people with rheumatism, and Arthritis.
Disadvantages: Diffacult to cook with a round pan eg: a Wok.
...I have just brought my wife a new Gas cooker she has difficulty with her hands when cooking.
I chose a New World white Cotsworld Delux cooker.
I paid £245.00 from Currys.
This cooker has an eye level grill with two handles, a lot of the grills I looked at only had a single handle on the grill which makes it heavier, but with the two handles you can balance the weight, this is also helpful for the elderly has well.
There are four burners of three sizes one simmer, one fast, and two normal burners on the back.
This is an easy cooker to clean most dirt just wipes off with a wet cloth.
The oven door opens out from the right there is a long bar just below the top of the door in a gold finish, this bar makes it easy to open unlike some cookers which have the round handle type.
This cooker lights first time unlike some which you have to try...

Rice Rice Baby
Review of Breville RC 3 by
tester30
Advantages: ease of use and ease of cleaning
Disadvantages: rice foam bubbles out the sides if too much water is added
...The rice cooker was bought to replace another rice cooker with a hinge style lid. No problems with its operation and the instructions in the booklet were spot on for the measures of rice to water. It's very reliable and consistent in its operation.
However there is a lot of steam when cooking so it needs a window to let the steam out otherwise the walls get steamed and you do get a lot of rice foam bubbling over the lid and down the sides of the cooker. Having said that the outer case and bowl and lid are all very easy to clean. And after some use you soon get the balance of rice to water and washing just right to minimise the overflow from the cooker. The cooker is in use almost every day so I would rate this for use and reliability and ease of cleaning. Also the steamer tray is well designed it has lift up handles so you can get...

Flavel range cooker, a must for Christmas
Review of Flavel Aspen DUAL FUEL Range AP10FRS by
Quarry4Man
Advantages: Lots of burners, two ovens and a seperate grill, duel fuel giant
Disadvantages: If you are messy it's a lot to clean
...Fantastic cooker worth every penny of the £500 paid.
Bought for the extra burners so that two of us can cook at the same time, and sometimes three of us.
This is the first electric oven cooker I have ever used, and it's just great! Frozen food cooking times are almost exact using the fan oven. The pots and tin drawer is a must for any cooker, keeping all those baking trays etc out of the way.
The grill I would rate at about 8 out of 10, finding the rack positions not quite right for my needs. The second oven works well too.
My last cooker was a wreck, so it comes as no surprise that my energy consumption is down for the gas, but up for the electricity because we now use an electric oven or two, or even two and the grill and all eight burners!
Friends will be slightly envious, and may even come and cook thier dinners on it too...

Slowly does it
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
Lizard_Lover
Advantages: Ideal for cooking stews, casseroles, joints of meat
Disadvantages: Need to brown things before slow cooking
...Slow cookers are a great way of cooking food if you are going to be away from home for a long period in the day. Even though I work from home I still use ours on at least a weekly basis as I find that the meat when cooked in it is much more tender and tastier.
Although I had used slow cookers in the past, my old model was slowly gathering dust on top of the cupboard, and last Christmas I received a Morphy Richards Slow Cooker as a present from my mother in law, but it retails at £34.95 in Argos and can be purchased online or in the shop.
The slow cooker is very large, with a 6.5 litre capacity and is silver in colour and oval in shape. When I opened the box I thought that the size was a little large for a family of four, and had I purchased one myself I would have probably selected a smaller model. However, on reading the instructions...

Belling D841 duel fuel cooker
Review of Belling D841SS NOT SELF SIDO 060 by
lindylou62
Advantages: Easy to use, cheap to buy
Disadvantages: No timer/clock
...We needed a new cooker and decided that we would like to have a duel fuel one. After looking around we found this cooker on the Currys website. The cooker has a medium sized oven and a smaller top oven which is also used as the grill. The fan main oven is very good and quiet in use. The top oven/grill has an air cooling system which keeps the knobs of the hob cool during use. This keeps running for a few moments after use until it has cooled down enough.
The gas hob has one large burner, two medium and one small burner. All work very well, although the small burner is very small! The hob is easy to keep clean. There is a push button ignition. The oven doors have easily removed glass panels for cleaning and all of the oven is wipe clean.
The only difference between this cooker and ones costing more is the lack of timer...

Feeding the masses
Review of Belling Country Chef 923 by
NIGSY
Advantages: well made and a good price
Disadvantages: No oven light
...Belling Country chef 923
Range Cooker
My two main hobbies in life are cooking and DIY, So back in January when my wife asked me to build a new fitted kitchen I saw this as the perfect excuse to replace my built in electric oven and hob.
You see there are 6 people in my house and numerous visitors who all like to be fed , ( in fact I cant get rid of most of them).
So as you can appreciate a single cooker is just not adequate enough ( well that was my excuse to the wife), So I convinced her that we need a Range cooker.
So after I showed her the plan I devised for the kitchen and proved that a cooker this size will fit we decided to look for one.
We scoured all the usual retailers, but none stood out ( plus they were all very expensive), so we tried the internet , and found the cooker that I've always wanted at cookers...
