Advantages: Too many shops to choose from
Disadvantages: You have to go to Paris!

...I would recommend any serious shopper who wants to save money and visit a beautiful city to go to Paris. My best bargains include kookai on Rue de Rennes (metro Montparnasse) where not only is the latest collection a lot cheaper than in the UK, but this shop also has lots of reduced items from previous sales. Save time for any Morgan, Zara, Ange and Agatha as well. Go to Galeries Lafayette, Rue de Rennes and Rue de Rivoli (for H&M) I would not buy anything in Kookai or Morgan from England ever again, now I know how much I can save in Paris. Another bonus is during the sales, which seem to go on a lot longer than in the UK and there isn't such a frenzy about them!...

ooh la la- I love Paris!

Advantages: right in the centre
Disadvantages: small room- but thats Paris

...I stayed in the Pavillon Louvre Rivoli- Paris for 3 nights on a work trip in November 2005. I was really impressed with the hotel's location- a ten minute walk from Galeries Lafayette, I was in heaven! The desk staff in the hotel were very courteous and polite and there was a lift which was handy to get my bags to my room. My room was on the small side but as there was only me staying in the room (even though it was a double) I didnt mind, and paris is renowned for its small hotel rooms anyway. The room was pleasantly decorated in pale yellow and terracotta shades, the bathroom was again very small but very clean and toiletries provided, plenty of hot water as well! One thing slightly annoying was that on the first evening i reported the bedside lamp as not working, and despite reporting this again the next day it was still not...

Review of Pavillon Louvre Rivoli, Paris

A real shoppers heaven in the heart of Montpellier

Advantages: 2000 parking spaces 120 shops
Disadvantages: Too overcrowded at weekends

...Le Polygone is a huge 3 storeys shopping centre set in the heart of Montpellier, next to La Place de La Comedie (see my previous review for the Place). It hosts more than 120 shops but the biggest of them all is without a doubt the giant and famous Galerie Lafayette where you will find all your favourites designer outfits The Galerie Lafayette are actually located at the end of the shopping centre and spread over its 3 storey.) The list of shops is endless and ever changing so I apologise if I am not listing all of them. But you will find everything from furniture (Habitat) to DVD's and books (Fnac). And, as you would expect from a huge shopping centre, you will find numerous clothing shops for men and women, shoe shops, bakeries and cafes, restaurants? The place is very lively and clean (check those sparkling toilet) and boots...

Advantages: architectural wonder
Disadvantages: cost many human lives to build

...on a bridge floating over a river! ¤ø,¸¸,◊,¸¸ ,ø¤ This beautiful bridge, built of many large arches, above which are smaller arches, where there is a pedestrian passage inside the bridge, under the water level of the canal. I did feel sudden panic when I saw leaking cracks as I strolled through the passage! Could do better

Advantages: Very close to the Louvre and assorted sights
Disadvantages: Small, functional, no character

...If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Paris that will put you within an easy stroll of the Louvre and its attendant delights, you might be tempted by the Hotel des Victoires. It's in the Rue Herold, handy for the Metro and also very close to the exquisite Galerie Vivienne, the Bourse (the French Stock Exchange)and the assorted resturants of Les Halles. So, pretty central then - the only problem is that you can almost certainly do better. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel: it's small but very spruce and clean, has a lift (essential for these tall, thin Paris buildings), and rooms have TV, minibar and phones, and the staff are exceptionally pleasant (most speak good English). Review of Emeraude Hotel des Victoires, Paris

Plenty to do

Advantages: Good shopping and lots to do.
Disadvantages: very busy!

...I love popping up to London for the occasional day out. I collect Moive memorabilla so thats my main reason for going there as it's a great place to go and get stuff you can't always find in your home town. With plenty to satify every kind of shopper. If its nice buildings and history your after then your in the right place. With lots of historical buildings and museaums. To look at and art galeries you can easily fill a day up.You don't want to drive in London the best idea is public transport or go by foot as everything is within walking distance. Theres plent of bars to drink in and palces to eat. Also many shops don't close till 10pm which is great. You can definatly have a good fun day out in London. My best advice is wear comfortable shoes! And hold onto you bags as there has been many reports of alot more pick pocketing...

Advantages: Funny yet kinda cruel, exploitation of the not so pretty people of the world

...the most nicest looking of girls. my friend named her "piano teeth" and i'll leave the rest to your imagination, because recalling her face again will only put me through pure hell! on the website they have, mingin lookylikes, dancing mingers, mingin couples, various galeries, and best of all "minger of the week" and loads more. id recommend this site to anyone, who likes this sort of thing where people who arent so nice, are exploited over the internet. its loads of fun, but isnt recommended for people who are easily offended or who are just plain old morbid.......

Forget the distance - just go!

Advantages: Family friendly
Disadvantages: Not many!

...We have just returned from visiting friends who live in this fantastic city, and cannot wait to go back. The fact that the Olympics are soon to be staged there has obviously meant that vast amounts of money have been invested in the airport, and other transport systems. It is a great place to go with a young faimly - although not always as wheelchair/pushchair friendly as one would hope for. The city is large enough to have everything that one would hope for in a world class city, great museums and galeries, fantastic shopping, delicious restaurants (very reasonably priced too) but small enough to have an intimate feel to it. Its also easy to get out of the city and into the 'bush' - trips to th Southern Highlands and the Blue Mountains are well worth the effort. If you don't want to travel too far but fancy seeing some wildlife...

After you leave the Passage des Panoramas, walk through Rue St Marc, Rue Feydeau and Rue Vivienne, have a look at the Bourse (stock exchange) building, and then cross over the Rue de 4 Septembre and continue in Rue Vivienne. Next to a small boutique, you will see the entrance to another passage, the Garerie Vivienne. When it opened in 1823, it was the most fashionable passage in Paris. It is decorated with many mosaics, vases and statues. Make sure you have a look at (and into) the unique bookshop which has been there for 175 years! It is well worth it. You will also find another very nice tearoom and a funny shop selling hundreds of different screw drivers.
