In fact there was a brief period that Sainsbury supermarket offers a 20% off their Wii console (starter) bundle i.e. Wii console + Wii Sport + Wii Sport Resort for £135.99. When I heard about it, it was 3 days before the deals ended. Obviously there was no stock on their website at that time and I tried my luck at the local supermarket. Fun interactive console

Advantages: fun, interactive, different, good game selection
Disadvantages: can get really expensive, controllers tend to have bad battery life

Wii - a great console

Advantages: completely interactive, easy to use, lots of fun
Disadvantages: limited multiplayer games

...I was given the nintendo wii as a birthday gift from my boyfriend in August. I have wanted one for absolutely ages and was not disappointed. The first thing i did was go out and get extra nun-chucks, an extra controller and 3 more games! This is a great interactive console that is great for all the family as well as wii parties with friends (whilst you can pass your one wii remote around between you, it's probably better if you invest in a few more remote controllers). My mum and my 8 year old brother equally enjoyed playing wii sports and rayman's raving rabbits (an excellent game by the way) The wii works best (obviously) with a spacious room and a good sized tv - then you can really get into the swing of things without the fear of bashing your fellow player. The Wii - A games console for the whole family

Unique Console Experience

Advantages: Small, innovative, unique, fun
Disadvantages: average graphics, can be difficult to control

...The console itself is brilliant, very stylish, and absolutely tiny! If you put 3 DVD boxes together, that's the size of the Wii, and unlike the XBox 360 it is also very quiet and very reasonable with loading times. The actual finish on the console is great, it's glossy but doesn't show up fingerprints extensively (ala PSP) and everything about it feels expensive and new, which is always a plus. It is really easy to set up, the only thing you'll need to think about is the sensor bar, a small black rod that needs to be placed on or below your TV, theoretically anyway, I've found you only need to place it where you want to actually want to point, but of course that makes the TV the ideal spot. You also get the stand with the console, and if you're going to place it vertically it's a good idea to use it, it comes with an extra small disc...

...I only decided to purchase a 360 once the Microsoft 360 demonstration booths began to appear in local stores, and I could see first hand what all the hype had been about. Impressed, I sold a rare guitar I owned, and sat in the comfort of my own home wading through eBay listings until I found a realistically priced 'Buy it now' auction that had literally just been placed online. Two days after launch, and exactly 24 hours after I had placed my eBay bid, I received the most eagerly awaited console to date. So, I can't claim to have even waited, unless you count 24 hour delivery as excessive! My first thought was 'This is a very small box'. Possibly the best hand held console

Advantages: Sleek and stylish, vast amount of games, great fun to play, wi-fi enabled

.... Games As previously mentioned the NDSL allows gamers to play not only NDS games but also GBA games, i.e. it is backwards compatible. This is great for gamers that previously had a GBA as it means they don?t have to get rid of previous games, which is the usual scenario when upgrading games consoles. This is also great for gamers who haven?t previously owned a GBA since there are hundreds of top titles that can be bought for next to nothing second hand from sites such as Ebay. If you do play GBA games on the NDSL there is no improvement in graphics, sound, playability or anything else over playing the game on a GBA. In fact, playing the games on the NDSL is not as good since the colours on the NDSL are not as vivid as they are on the GBA. This really does show that improvements in technology do not always enhance the experience...
