I feel fruity with these!
Review of Asda Garden Gang Sweet and Fruity Dried Pinapple and Papaya by  lazza123

Advantages: Taste, Price, Quality
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit sweet

...In my weekly trip to ASDA, I look for things to go in the lunchbox; this time I found some kids sweets (well we’re all kids at heart aren’t we!) ** What is it? ** It is Garden Gang sweet and fruity dried pineapple and papaya. The reason I bought this is that papaya is one of my favourite fruits! ** What’s the pack like? ** Pink! With cartoon pictures of a pineapple and papaya dancing. The pack is 50g, and costs 24 pence. It proclaims that they are suitable for vegetarians. On the back of the pack it has all the usual nutritional information, each pack is 142 calories, and 0.9g of fat. The ingredients are Sugar, Pineapple (32%), papaya (32%) and a preservative. Ok percentage wise the ingredients add up to 64% where is the other 36%? Maybe the sugar It says that they are gluten free, there are no colours... Read review

The Polo Bride
Review of Polo Mints by  franl

Advantages: They're minty, holey, yummy
Disadvantages: They're open to abuse

...and after the Princess. Vizzini and the giant smoothie, Fezzik, took the Princess, while the third member of the gang, superb swordsman and citrus sharp Polo Montoya, stayed behind to put paid to the pirate. Meanwhile, Prince Humperdink-Wear was also tracking the gang. The unthinkable happened; The Dread Polo Roberts beat Polo Montoya. Impressed by Montoya's citrus skills, though, he showed mercy, and left him out cold on a supermarket shelf. Vizzini then dispatched Fezzik the giant (who contained fresh double cream) to shatter the annoying pirate polo into a thousand pieces. But no, again, The Dread Polo Roberts prevailed - Vizzini had no choice but to face him in a battle of mintiness. With the Princess as the unwilling prize, the two polos faced each other and sucked... but Vizzini was a mini mint, and was defeated. With Prince... Read review

You're winding me up Kellogg's
Review of Kellogs Fruit Winders by  Dodie

Advantages: Keeps the Kid's quiet
Disadvantages: Total waste of money

...I’m sure you’ve all seen the ad’s on TV for the Kellogg’s Real Fruit Winders. I know my daughter has and, seeing as she’s reached that age where she “needs” everything she see’s advertised on TV, it came as no shock when she started asking for them. The latest addition to the gang is Apple. There was an offer on in ASDA on Friday and I bought 2 boxes of Winders for £2 (the usual price being £1.21 per box) each box contains 6 of these “Apple fruit snack rolls”. How they can even think about calling them a snack roll is beyond me, they wouldn’t fill a gap in your teeth. They are individually sealed and upon opening reminded me of the old bus tickets you used to get in the days when conductors patrolled the decks of our public transport. I’m showing my age... Chocolate Marmalade
Review of McVitie's Jaffa Cake Bars by  starsally

Advantages: good size and taste OK.
Disadvantages: not as nice as the original jaffa cake.

...the added benefit of being foil wrapped which, in the unlikely situation that they might sit in the cupboard for a while, they are more likely to stay fresh. Inside the outer packet the little foil wrapped bars are stored in a card tray which you might find useful if you shop somewhere where some gangly youth packs your shopping with all the grace and charm you would expect from the said individual! The bars themselves are slightly fatter and narrower than a penguin and are individually foil wrapped. They smell just like Jaffa Cakes (no surprises there) and taste a lot like them too! The sponge is about twice the thickness than that of the normal jaffa cakes and seems more moist. The chocolate is the same but the orange is different! Now I am one of those individuals who eats the normal jaffa cakes in such a way that leaves me with a slimy... Read review

Sugar-free, it does for me.
Review of Wrigley's Extra by  superpricee

Advantages: Cheap, cheerful, and dentally-friendly
Disadvantages: Erm, none really

...Atrocious attempt at a rhyming title there. Sorry gang. Now, As you may or may not know out there in Ciaoland, I like football. Pick yourselves off the ground folks, I know that was a surprise to you all. What you may also know is that my team, Downfield Juniors, have the privilege of having me in their technical area on a Saturday afternoon every week, watching them....er, well, lose. Now, as with all "sideline footballers", I have a tendency to want to kick every ball myself, and as such need to do something with my autonomic responses to keep them occupied, in order to stop myself from running onto the pitch and assaulting the referee. The best way to do that is to chew. Yes, chew. WEAPON OF CHOICE: --- Wrigley's Extra has been around for quite a few years now, and is their best-selling brand of sugar-free gum... Read review

twist not 'to waist'
Review of Pepsi Max Twist by  Handonheart

Advantages: Another taste choice when you are buying pepsi
Disadvantages: Drinking too much leaves a nasty feeling in your stomach.

...this one a shot as there's only 1kcal per 100ml. What I don't recommend is drinking a 2 litre bottle in one afternoon. I did this and was left with an acidy feeling in my stomach and a horrible 'gangly' feeling in my mouth. I'm sure it's not good for your teeth either. I guess this applies just as much to any fizzy drink though. They all seem to be full of acids. Drink in moderation and it's a nice change from the normal pepsi. It's a nice variation on an already popular drink. In terms of value for money I bought mine as a special offer with two 2 litre bottles for £2. I think this represents excellent value for money but the normal price that I've seen it for is about what I'd expect to pay for this size bottle (I can't remember exactly what it was now so I won't quote it just in case I'm way off!). Luckily my local shop still has... Read review

A Swift Pint!
Review of Swift Nick by  tange

Advantages: Light, refreshing and well balanced light bitter.
Disadvantages: Not the best. Lacks body and texture.

...in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, as well as at Beer Festivals nationwide. The bottled beers can be found in the Chatsworth Farm shop. ~~~THE BEER. ***A Bit of Background*** Swift Nick is actually named after a famous outlaw and you will see a picture of a highwayman on a horse on the pump clip for the beer. John "Swift Nick" Nevison lived from 1639 to 1684 and was apparently an associate of the infamous Dick Turpin. It is said he got his name from the fast ride he made from London to York to get an alibi to escape capture for his crimes (he and a gang of thieves regularly robbed travelers on the Great North Road during the seventeenth century) ~ a ride that has since been attributed to Dick Turpin instead. ***Vital Stats*** Swift Nick weighs in at 3.8% ABV and is brewed using Goldings hops. It is classed as a light bitter... Read review

Freekee it certainly is
Review of Freekee Strange Strawberry by  GR-Design

Advantages: Erm, well it's low calories
Disadvantages: Everything about it, the price, the taste, the fizz, or lack of it.

...Firstly, I do have to point out for the safety of my male pride that I did not buy this drink….oh no, if anything in a fridge lined up with a can of coke as it’s oppositions, coke will win hands down each time. I don’t like change see, and certainly don’t like risking my own money (as little as it is in relative terms) on something new which I may or may not like….when it’s in your parents fridge though it’s a whole new ballgame. These ‘Freekee Soda’ bottles had been sitting in the fridge for over a week, one of them had gone and the rest of them had been shoved to the side…so who am I to let them sit there in their little gang..I’ll nick one of them that’s what I will do, afterall, the label did sound quite tempting… ‘Mixing the fizz with the smooth’ is what it says on the label along with something along the lines of ‘after this... Wot's a Wotsit.....
Review of Golden Wonder Wotsits by  babajane32

Advantages: Yummy
Disadvantages: I need more,more,more!!

...Wot's a Wotsit? A Wotsit is a corn puff of the crisp variety. They hang out in gangs of around 48(yup,I'm sad and counted them!) they live in their natural habitat of the crisp packet.Being very social little things they often can be bought in multipacks, sometimes multipacks will be of the same breed/variety others will have an assortment of flavours. Each of these little divas are about 1 1/2" long and slightly curly although they do have babies, these come in a smaller packet and are less than an inch long.Anyway, having introduced you to this super-snack I will progress onto wot a tasty dish it can be. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Tasty trouble Opening one of the "really cheesy"bags of the little darlings,I carefully remove one and savagely sink my teeth in.What do I find?? I find an almost cheesy flavour... Read review
