Bridging the GAP

Advantages: Quality clothes which endure wash after wash
Disadvantages: Clothes may seem expensive to some

...Up until recently l had not really bothered about Gap - l simply used the store in Belfast as a short cut into the CastleCourt shopping centre. One-day l decided ld stop and take a look. The Belfast Store is extremely busy and crams a lot into a small space - women’s wear, men’s wear and junior sizes. A separate store exists for babies and toddlers. (I must emphasis that this is only the case in the Belfast Store - other stores have everything under one roof) Clothes may seem expensive but l do not mind paying that little bit extra when it comes to quality. I find Gap clothes to have that edge over others. They wash well, keep their shape and endure well! The style (for women anyway!) is mostly casual - with their hooded sweatshirts, jeans, tee shirts and baseball caps. I bought a pair of Gap jeans on Friday...

Aimed not only at those planning gap years for before or after university but also career gappers and anyone who is considering going backpacking. GAP ..... shop of choice

Advantages: Good quality, good style, good prices

...Gap is probably my favourite clothes shop. You always know, if you decide to wander into one of the many nearby Gap shops, that there will be cheap, good quality, nice looking assistants...woops, make that clothes, for you to buy. Seriously, I don't think I have ever paid full price for anything at Gap - why would I? Half the shop is a sale rail. I'm not complaining though. The Clothes Gap sells pretty much everything. Tops, Jackets, trousers, jeans, male and female, little accessories, the legendary khakis.....pretty much everything but shoes. I tend to either buy t-shirts or trousers from Gap, and they are always good quality and wash well. The only thing I have noticed about Gap tops is that they seem to be short and wide - though I believe this is because Americans are short and fat. I dunno. Availability Gap is...

...Gap for kids is an excellent if a little bit pricey shop. My local gap store is about 25 miles away so its not a store that I frequent on a regular basis. In away this is a very good thing as I never get bored with the range of clothing inbetween my infrequent visits they've always changed the stock. Gap for kids and Babygap have cornered the market in high quality clothing at affordable prices, even more affordable if you head straight to the old bargain rail. The clothing for babies and toddlers is a little bit traditional with a modern day twist to it. For old children it tends to be a bit more outdoor like in style - you'll not find any frilly dresses here! The coats are second to none, warm, well made and easily cleaned. If you're after clothing for kids that is casual but a little bit dressy then Gap is the place to head...

Mind the Gap!

Advantages: Easy, conveniant
Disadvantages: American

(so many times I thought I was buying cotton tops only to receive lycra because I didn't read the small print: not so with Gap.com) When you go to order an item they have a "ship to" section, which I think is a nice touch. It makes it especially conveniant if you are buying a gift. However, the shipping costs are quite expensive, and I have never brought anything for myself because it seems to difficult to get stuff sent to the UK. If though, like me, you have friends in the states and you are looking to sent them a present (christmas, birthday, whatever) then I would try Gap.com. I sent a guy friend a shirt from the sale section which only cost me $6: in fact the shipping cost more! They gift boxed it and it arrived in time (despite the fact I only remembered it was his birthday a few days before the event) It doesn't take...

Great GAP tips

Advantages: Classic items, quality products, good choice and price
Disadvantages: Number of stores, some items pricey, can be a bit of a jumbe sale at sale time

...As there are already 30+ GAP reviews I wont go into too much detail about what GAP is but hopefully I will provide you with some helpful tips for a successful shopping trip. 1. Size GAP women's clothes are sized in American sizing which can be very confusing as MOST items don't actually tell you they're not UK sizes. American sizes are two sizes smaller than UK sizes so if you are usually a UK 12 in US sizes you will be an 8. (this is great for moral when you realise for the first time in years that the size on the label is in single figures!) UK US 6 2 8 4 10 6 12 8 14 10 16 12 18 14 Small, medium and large sizes tend to be as usual. Often is a sale you will find sizes 0 and 1 - these sizes usually aren't available in the UK - they are smaller than a UK size 6...

...I've only quite recently begun shopping with Amazon, the main reason being receiving vouchers from survey sites and from on here. It's now one of the first sites I look at when making a purchase. ~~~ Products ~~~ Amazon.co.uk stocks a massive variety of products. So far everything I have searched for has been available to buy on the site, although most of the things have been quite common like DVD's and games. I can't think of anywhere that stocks as much stuff as Amazon, maybe not even Ebay. ~~~ Prices ~~~ The prices on Amazon are very competitive and are usually the cheapest place to but DVD's and games, again being usually cheaper than Ebay, I have no doubt that this is the case for many other products. The main down side is that cash back sites don't offer cash back for Amazon, or am I on the wrong cash back site...

Wonderful Gap

...I am always attracted to the gap shops, I just can’t help myself, whether it be I’m shopping for myself or my cousin. I always end up buying something from the store. I like buying jeans from their as I like the way they are cut, and they usually last a long time. The store usually is split into two sections, whereby they have an adult department and children’s one. I always think they have a more men’s range than a woman’s, or that maybe me, because I feel there is not enough to chose from. Gap clothes are not cheap by any means, but I think they are well worth the price as you can tell the are quality. Gap all the way

Advantages: excellent stores

...I think Gap shops are brilliant for quality and if you save up it will be well worth the extra money you may have had to pay. I went to the Trafford Centre and they had a really good Gap store and although, the items are quite expensive, they looked very good on display, tempting enough to go in and have a look. I bought a blue hooded Gap top which was for £40, it was nicely fitted and was nice and warm. The range was so impressive, even though I wanted to buy more items I had to stop myself as money was running out. I bought my younger cousin Gap cap, which was really nice, and although he wasn’t there I think he will like it. The after sales service was really good and I was informed that as long as I kept my receipt the good could be returned. There was a lot for me to chose from so that was good. How can you not...
