Phenomenal Album by Savage Garden

...October 2001 due to Daren Hayes' desire to become a solo performer. More of My Experience and Opinion It was in the late 1990's when Savage Garden became so popular. I could hear the band's songs almost everywhere that I got tired of those songs though I admit they are great songs. I guess FM stations played one Savage Garden's song in every playlist of 10 songs. There was even a time when I got tired of listening to the duo's song in a radio station that I rushed to change the channel to another radio station and I heard Savage Garden again. I felt so sick to hear Savage Garden played simultaneously in 4 radio stations. When I proceeded to my friend's wedding, a Savage Garden's song was played. I thought I had enough. The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. They used to be more expensive but in recent years, the classic nougat and caramel filling has obviously lost its appeal as new and more...

The Spice Garden - No Garden, Plenty of Spice

Advantages: Light airy conservatory, pleasant service, good value for money
Disadvantages: Nothing out of the ordinary

...Another week brought another visit from my hungry curry-loving colleague Joep. I had no plans for the evening and asked if he wanted to have dinner. His eyes lit up; "Can we have curry?" he asked excitedly. And so at around 6.30pm we left the office to go in search of a new curry restaurant that we'd not tried before. I'd spotted the Spice Garden on my way to work that morning and decided that this time it would get our custom. A garden to die for!

I had decided to visit on the recommendation of a friend who had recently spent a day there, and had spent quite a while telling me about it afterwards. Advantages: Easy to get to and small and shady enough to enjoy without getting exhausted in the heat.

How things have changed though, now you can almost do your weekly shopping there (well maybe I exaggerate a little), but they really do sell almost everything and you can even get a bite to eat when you're there. Peter Barratts Garden Centre in Newcastle is no exception. WHERE IS IT ? It's located to the north of the city next to Gosforth Park / Newcastle Racecourse. It's only a 5 minute drive from the A1 if you take the Killingworth / Wideopen junction, or similarly 5 minutes from the Killingworth turn off of the A19. ...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out. I was feeling a little bit peckish one afternoon so I though I would try one, they are all individually wrapped when you open the main packet . 'Cookie bars' what does that mean to you?? Or what do you expect?? To me it means moist crumbly biscuit with lots of chocolate chips in. I opened the wrapper and inside was quite a thick rectangular biscuit I don't know why, but it didn't quite look like I expected it to. Upon tasting it I thought it was a bit dry. ...you've stepped onto Dutch ground as there are Dutch football jerseys hanging around as well as wooden clogs, an orange decoration here and there and well, tulips garden? That must be Holland! The restaurant doesn't have a real indoor part apart from a few armchairs located near the kid's corner, but hey, who'd wanna sit inside while it's lovely warm weather and you can be out on the terrace? They have two computers with the internet for customers for free, a huge pile of Dutch, English, German and Turkish magazines and some playing facility for kids, too. The terrace has two parts, the smaller under a roof could hold about 40 people, the outmost terrace which only occassionally gets roofed (e.g. if the seeds of ficus trees above your head keep bombing you or sun is too strong), has space for about 60 people, plus a few seats at the bar...
