The soups have been on the market since 1987, and the company strive to make restaurant/ home made style soups in a ready made form by using fresh ingredients and making the soups in a way you would at home. You will find these soups in the chilled section of the supermarket and they are sold in cardboard cartons. Each carton contains 600g ( although there are a few varieties now available in single portion 300g cartons - called One Bowlfuls.) The soups are all made from natural ingredients. I buy my soups from Sainsburys at the cost of £1.97 a carton. This may sound expensive in comparison to some other soups on the market but they do give two good bowls of excellent soup...

It's sold in most national supermarkets and retails at about £1.50 - £2.00 for 600g. Mine arrived 14/01/2006, its sell by date 19/01/2006 (at top of package) the soup is freshly made. The advice on the package is to consume within 1 day of purchase. The soup can be frozen and can be consumed within one month of purchase. The New Covent Garden Food Co is a registered. ***THE PACKAGE*** The soup arrived in a board carton made from sustainable forest. It is covered with information and starts at the top with instructions on how to open it, it opens quite easily. The carton is robust. In the night garden ninky nonk train set

Advantages: strong, versatile, compact, nice bright colours, fun to play with

...I decided to buy the in the night garden ninky nonk train set from Amazon as my young daughter is a big fan of in the night garden and whenever it comes on TV she gets really excited. So as my daughter already had some of the other characters from the show I wanted her to have the whole set and since buying it the train set the ninky nonk train set has become one of her favourite toys to play with on a daily basis. The train set can come apart and be attached on many different ways and my daughter enjoys looking at the nice bright colours and putting some of the other in the night garden characters onto the train set even though it keeps falling of now and again it keeps her busy and sometimes I hear her in fits of giggles. The train set is very cute and versatile and its great as children such as mine can have hours of fun with it...

...Every year at half term we take the wooden garden furniture in , so last week into the conservatory went the garden bench. It will stay here until we get the summer here. June time we take our picnic bench /table out of hibernation from the conservatory. We position it on the patio and celebrate the summer by sitting on it while consuming a cup of tea. We have a picnic table that converts to a garden bench, or the other way round. It is a wooden one just like the picture. We have owned this bench for about 15 years now. The bench / table that we have is still in good order. The wood may be a looking a little older. I expect it will eventually decay. I think it is made of pine wood. This picnic table looks like ones you get in pub gardens although the ones in pubs do not fold up into a bench. The simple mechanism...

New Covent Garden Food - Asparagus Soup

...I am a big fan of the New Covent Garden Soups so last night I tried the Asparagus Fresh Soup. I bought it in my local Safeways (but it is stocked widely in the fresh refridgerated section of most supermarkets) and a 600g container cost £2.29 and the price is pretty similar in all supermarkets as well. They include a wide variety of flavours including Vegetable, Spicy Corn Chowder, Basil Pesto and Tomato etc and they always have a soup of the season which has included Chicken, Creamy Spinach and Field Mushroom. The soup is packaged in a square cardboard looking box (like the old 1 pint milk cartons) and the box is informative. The front states the flavour of the soup (Asparagus in this case) and it has pictures of asparagus spears on it. The second side of the box gives a background of the company and states how they like to use...

...and if the sun is shining its covered in butterflies - the most I counted in one sitting was eleven. Birds love the seeds in the autumn and winter months. Thyme and Rosemary - Bees adore these two popular garden herbs, and the fact they are easy to grow (just put them in a sunny spot, well drained soil, and a sheltered position, and they will grow quite happily for you!) makes them a perfect choice for the wildlife gardener - they also taste great on potatoes and meat dishes! Birds Foot Trefoil - this is a wild flower, usually found along hedgerows I think, and I managed to grow some from seed a few years ago (The Organic Seed Company have details of this and other wild seeds, see below for details) - and it is so vigorous, and has tiny little yellow flowers, like miniature sweet peas - birds eat the seeds, and butterflies and moths feed...

...I had decided to buy this particular soup as i am a fan of both Broccoli and Stilton and have tried several soups in the past and enjoyed them to varying degrees. This was the 600g carton on offer at Tesco for 98p, down from the usual price of £1.97. The packaging is a standard "Pure-Pak" milk carton type with a fairly plain photo on the front, but very informative. Ingredients and nutritional information are very clear on the back of the package along with the allergy advice which in this case warns of milk and possible nut trace in the contents. One other side is taken up with the spiel about the soup itself and "food as it should be". The final side is taken with Storage (can be frozen by the way), cooking and company contact information. I decided to cook the soup in the microwave, following the instructions on the pack. I...

...Another week brought another visit from my hungry curry-loving colleague Joep. I had no plans for the evening and asked if he wanted to have dinner. His eyes lit up; "Can we have curry?" he asked excitedly. And so at around 6.30pm we left the office to go in search of a new curry restaurant that we'd not tried before. I'd spotted the Spice Garden on my way to work that morning and decided that this time it would get our custom.
