Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. What My Heart Wants To Say-Gareth Gates

Advantages: Nice mix of styles and themed songs.Upbeat.Has some covers of old pop songs some might like.
Disadvantages: Unforgettable-generic pop at best.Nothing special musically, lyrically or vocally.

...What can I say, if you thought I was unkind about Will Young (who I actually do like 10 times better than Gareth Gates) then perhaps don't read any further. Gareth Gates, who competed with Will Young in Pop Idol, was later signed by Simon Cowel. And although I am not a fan, I think this was a good business move. This is about as nice as I can be about Gareth Gates' musical career. I think die hard teeny bopper pop fans will have appreciated the efforts of Gates, but as far as him having any longevity in his career, I dont think it is likely. In this album he covers 'Unchaned Melody' and to his credit, he can sing in tune, but his voice (though melodic) is highly regular and unimpressive. ...Gareth Gates was the cute finalist in Pop Idol 2002. We look at him as a strong, confident young man who overcame his stammer and got to Jordan before Peter! I think it is sad that these people are caterpaulted to fame and then often lost or phased out in the media frenzie. My track by track breakdown is as follows: 1. Unchained Melody. A lovely song. This has so much appeal to it that it has reached number one everytime released. The slow, tenderness of it is so romance provoking and like in wartime, love is appreciated. 2. Anyone of Us. ...As no one has reviewed Gareth Barry for some time now I thought it would be fitting to add an up to date account on him especially in light of his recent good performances for England as an unexpected stand in for the injured Frank Lampard. As an Aston Villa supporter it comes as no surprise to see GB reaping the acclaim for his expolits with England. His unselfish nature and the ability to find a team mate with a range of accurate passing has caught the eye of many people. His role for England has been primarily as a 'link man'. I need to let it all out before I go mad and attack a poster of Gareth Gates with a machete, so here goes! Right now, as I'm writing, Tatu or t.A.T.u or whatever it are at the top of the charts. Yup, those two Russian lesbians! Now I don't have anything against Russia or lesbianism (is that a word?) but I think it's just a gimmick. They're pretending to be lesbians so they get more publicity and more people go out and buy their single. And it seems to be working. ...gareth has played exceptionally well in the last england match against france.the youngster from villa park looked a rock at the back and looks a better bet than phil neville in the left back position. he is only nineteen but has showed maturity beyond his years in recent matches for his country and his work rate is terrific.i can see this boy going on to become a great star for england if he stays fit in years to come and may be a vital piece of englands future world cup and euro plans....
