Garmin Helps You Go the Distance
Advantages: Small, Voice Directions, 3D graphics
Disadvantages: nothing
...-nav.
Perhaps the best feature of the Garmin Mobile XT is that it also has voice directions. There is literally nothing better about an expensive satnav than this. In fact, this product is better due to its portability and ease of use.
Please note that if you are a Blackberry user, this product will not work for you - however Garmin have made a similar product especially for the Blackberry:

To Buy or Not to Buy?
Buy. If you travel much and have a Windows Mobile, then it seem stupid not to. There is nothing i can fault about the software, it seems reasonably priced and is much more portable than a satnav. 5/5

Get Safely from A to B with Garmin nuvi 1340
Advantages: Not as annoying as I thought
Disadvantages: Pricey
...Why I Bought It
I finally gave in a traded my AA route finder notes (which always got me from A to B) for a Garmin nuvi 1340.
I have to admit that these things annoy me so much, shouting directions at you every 5 seconds, but I thought I ought to at least try to get with the 21st century, plus everyone I know as one, so they can?t be that bad can they?
I managed to pick mine up for £139 from Pixmania, which was a bargain, as I?d seen one in my local Halford store whilst shopping for oil again! (but that?s another story) for £179! Just proving its worth shopping around.
Being a girlie the first thing that attracted me to this was its slender build (I know I know!). Its only 15mm thick and therefore isn?t too bulky to pop into the handbag when I?ve arrived at my destination and its quite light too ? double bonus.
The 1340 model...

Garmin Gremlin is back!
Advantages: gets me where i want to be
Disadvantages: a little quiet
...Satanic Navigation systems have become a common everyday item for many people who drive on a regular basis, but as with anything else technological there are hundreds on the market and a bewildering array of options to choose from.
Luckily for me I bypassed this confusion by winning a satnav in a raffle at work last Christmas, so after 12 months of near constant use it was time to review the unit.
I have the Garmin Nuvi 250, Garmin have a well established reputation for making good quality GPS receivers and many of my military and outdoor activity loving friends have them for use when hiking, boating, or even just a short ramble throug unfamiliar territory (though one friend has his soley to record the locations of his favourite pubs). So I had high hopes that my little unit would be a good product to use.
In terms of its looks...

Get There With A Garmin 760
Advantages: good battery life and good instruction manual
Disadvantages: sometimes slow software and have to pay for camera feature after 30 days
...was still more to be found out from reading the instruction manual. It is well laid out text that described the features and settings perfectly. It also has sections on problem solving all though I did not have any problems with mine so did not need to use this section.
It is a really reliable device that I use almost daily now it does occasionally loose a bit of the road I rang and asked Garmin about this and they said they do have updates and that sometimes new roads are built before they get chance to update their systems.
The device is quick to start but some of the software can take some time to load all though it does eventually work and runs very well and accurately.
There is also an in built safety camera feature with the Garmin Nuvi 760 Sat Nav which warns you in plenty of time about fixed speed cameras and mobile speed van...

Garmin's ultimate cycle computer
Advantages: Combined cycle computer and sat nav. Lots of features
Disadvantages: Initially it is difficult to learn to use
...****Overall****
The Garmin Edge 705 is more than a bike computer. It is a full satellite navigation system for a bicycle. It does not have the ability to "tell" you where to go by voice but it does show you what turnings to take on a small map.
At first glance the Edge 705 looks really stylish and impressive. It is larger than the previous models, the 205 and 305, but this is to be expected since it has a large 44mm x 35mm colour screen. The backlit display is clear and bright and can clearly be seen in any conditions be it dull and over cast, bright sunshine or anything in between.
The Edge 705 has eight buttons and joystick control, looks very complex and a bit of a nightmare to use, however, getting started with it is easy. Once it's charged, you just turn it on, sit it near a window so it can find satellites, set up your...

Garmin 305
Advantages: All you could need in a watch
Disadvantages: none
...The Garmin Fore runner 305 has been a life saver for me..
if you are a runner and want to track your progress, train against a vitual partner or simple see how far or fast you are running.
then i would advise you get this watch. it is light weight are to be honest when you are running you do not really realise that it is there.
i use it on every run i do. even if its just a slow recovery run then i will use the heart rate monitor , pace and distance to make sure it is slow and i am not working harder than I should be.
i would say that this is well worth the money and perfect for any runner needing a new watch for sporting purposes....

Maclaren XT versus the Quest - buggy showdown!
Advantages: XT could be the only buggy you ever need
Disadvantages: Check and see if it is too high
...helpful if you ever need to call them as I did for a broken buggy snuggle zipper which was replaced with no problems.
On to this actual buggy - now when I bought my buggy I did actually buy the quest, at the time I was torn between the Quest and Techno and I am sure that this would be the case for many a buggy purchaser.
I inherited a Techno however a few months ago so am now able to talk about the Techno, which I shall do and then draw some conclusions about the difference between the Techno and Quest which may be of help; if you are looking to buy a Maclaren there is currently about a £50 difference betweeen the two. The best price I could find for the XT was £165 from www.kiddicare.com or £165 via the link here on Ciao, they are more widely available from other retailers for the £200 mark.
The Techno itself...

A good Garmin
Advantages: Clear navigation, easy to use
Disadvantages: Camera alert noise gets on your nerves!
...a little difficult to spot, but once you know it's there you'll never need to look for it again! The settings menu though is very easy to use. It has large buttons with clear colour pictures on and easy to read wording. In the settings menu you can change to kilometres, choose the faster or shorter route, select avoidances etc.
There is a "toggle-type" button on the side to change the volume, it's a sort of wheel that you turn up an down. (Apologies for not knowing the correct term!).
The off button is also located at the side, which is easy to access.
Unlike many of its counterparts, the Garmin does not come attached to the suction pad. It depends on your view as to whether this is an advantage or not, but I personally feel that it is. The suction pad has a good hold on the device and because where the Sat-Nav fits on the back...

Garmin Nuvi 200w Sat Nav System
Advantages: Easy to use, does what it's suppsed to do!
Disadvantages: Satellite pairing takes ages, no mains charger!
...of the past, much like tv's. After extensive researching, price comparison and review reading, I came across the Garmin Nuvi 200w, and a sat nav system that seemed to impress greatly, so i decided to take the plunge and bought one.
Much like many of the reviews I had read on the Nuvi 200w, my first impressions of it were very good. I bought the system off the Littlewoods website, as it had been reduced in a seasonal sale that they were having. This meant that the system was on offer for around £30 less than on any other reputable site that I could find it on. The product was well packaged, securely and compactly fitted to an inner cardboard shelf, that meant that the sat nav was unable to move or rattle within the box, therefor limiting the chance of damage during postal delivery to a minimum. Included in the box was the Nuvi 200w sat nav system...

Gotta have a Garmin Edge 205
Advantages: wireless, accurate, can analyse data, water proof - Excellent
Disadvantages: Sometimes a loss of GPS signal, still quite expensive
...Why I chose the Garmin Edge 205
****************************************
Being a bit of a gadget 'freak' I stumbled across one of these on a cycling accessories website but instantly dismissed it because of its price tag of £149.99. Being a recreational cyclist who would never enter a cycling competition of any discipline there was no way I could justify the price.
However, after being introduced to the Fat fingers concept on Ebay, and seeing the bargains a close mate of mine was enjoying I decided to scour the Ebay search engine in hope of finding one of these at a 'reasonable' price.
All brand new units (I will not buy second hand electrical items/gadgets off Ebay since I have been stung before) were retailing between £95.00 plus P&P of £25 and £169.99 plus P&P of £5.95. Using the Fat fingers finder I found a "buy it now...
