The salesman was polite and not pushy. When we said we only wanted a quote to see how much we would need to save, he asked when they could contact us again, we said next summer, and we heard nothing from them until then. When they did phone, they were obviously keen for our business, so we were offered an option of 12 months interest free, after which we could pay off the balance in full, or pay back the money over a set period (with interest). ...On 9th October 2009 a Salesman came from Northern Gas and quoted us a price for a new boiler, and as we had been without heat and water for two weeks waiting for quotes, and as we are both in our seventies, he said he would try to arrange installation the following week. On 12th October their Surveyor came to assess the work involved and said installation could not start until three weeks. He said the boiler quoted could not be installed as quoted for and the flue would have to go up through the roof, adding another approx. three hundred pounds to the quote. The salesman had quoted one thousand seven hundred and eighty-five pounds and took a deposit of three hundred and fifty-seven pounds. This time we were determined to buy the best bolier possible from a large company in case we had any problems. Advantages: Good heating system, Good salesman, Mixer shower now power shower
Disadvantages: Lack of communication and also very poor communication, installers didn't care, without heating and hot water and damage to property
