Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

...Firstly, im going to make clear to those of you who dont know - 'Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' (MGS4) actually comes with an additional game 'Metal Gear Online' (MGO) included. There are so many reviews of the main MGS4 game here already that im going to talk more about the lesser emphasised MGO. Not many reviews point out this aspect of the game so im going to give you a little insight into it. Do not make the mistake of believing that MGO is anything along the lines of you controlling Solid Snake battling with MGS4 allies against familiar MGS4 enemies through MGS4 environments. Im going to make it clear - its not. Metal Gear Online is, put simply, a letdown. ...Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. I got this with my PS3 from Currys. First the case: The normal plastic ps3 case covered by a card slip case. The slip case bears the same design as the normal case, I can't really see the point of it. Inside the case you can see the rear of the package design, which is plain red with the Kojima logo on the left panel and Metal Gear Solid 4 printed beneath the disc. Two booklets, one is the manual and the other is an advert for the strategy guide. The manual has a page of story in and then usual manual fare in the rest. Though it is explained by half-page black and white comic-like drawings. Most of the manual is dedicated to Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4), noted by the red page edge, but the last few pages are assigned to Metal Gear Online (MGO). The manual is 9/10, losing only one...

...Story The storyline to this game is extremely complex; it follows on from the previous metal gear solid games and is a direct sequel to MGS2. I'll state now, you don't need to have played the previous games to be able to play and understand this one, I'd only ever played MGS2 before this and that was years ago. However, I recommend that you read up on the internet on the storyline, even if you just use Wikipedia, as it is complex and might confuse you. ...not talking about full bore acceleration test starts here either, no, I am talking about 50 yards of snaking and wrestling with the steering wheel as you merely pull away from the curb at ordinary speed going up hill. If you actually pluck up the courage to drive it harder and faster you will experience this highly unpleasant torque steer in second and third gears too. I drove it on bone dry, well surfaced roads ? I do not even dare to imagine how unsafe it feels on wet, icy or loose surfaces. Metal Gear Solid 4 - Best Game Ever Made

Advantages: Amazing graphics and sound, fun and original, huge longevity and too many others to mention
Disadvantages: The cutscenes could be a little shorter, but they do tell the story very well

...From the first moment I played this game I was hooked, everything about it is brilliant, there is only one negative point that I can find. The gameplay, graphics, storyline, voice-acting and playability are all better than on any other game I've played. The only bad thing about the game is the cut-scenes, although they tell the story well, some people (Especially those who have not played previous MGS games) may find they are too long. To try and keep you on your toes a number of 'flashbacks' and alternative camera angles are available when prompted. The gameplay in MGS4 follows the same formula as previous games, stealthly complete your objectives and incapacitate anyone who gets in your way. Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Orvis

Advantages: Looks the business. People get out of your way ! Engine is very athletic ;-)
Disadvantages: Put your foot down and you see the petrol gauge drop !!!

...I recently bought a bargain Cherokee Orvis from e-bay at a very realistic price, bearing in mind the number plate is worth £1,000 !!! The Cherokee I bought was a 4.0 litre Orvis model imported from America 1n 1994, so yes, it is left hand drive and is auto (which I love). The previous owner wanted something even bigger (!) as he and his friends are regular surfers, they needed the board space. It appears to be a real head turner and people do give way to you ALWAYS when driving it, the Orvis has the gold wheels to which people seem to like. It handles well, is very comfortable and is very easy and nice to drive with a lively engine. I do get a lot of looks if I am in the Jeep on my own as it is left hand drive, but I do not have any problems with overtaking and parking etc, the Jeep in high enough to see over most things and spends...

Gear4Music Black Strat-Style Guitar and Accessory Pack

...I bought this about a year and a half ago and in my opinion there are two things I need to review from this. The amp and the guitar. Firstly, the guitar. It is a budget guitar and it plays like that. The tone isn't great and the action is quite high. It is medium to heavy weight but is easily balanced with the included strap. It is also unreliable. The jack in mine broke after four months and I had to have it replaced. It is not a good guitar by any means, but it is so cheap I could live with it. Now the amp. This is frankly not very good. It is dull, muddy and distorts unless the gain is at 0. It is also quiet and hazy. You can tell when you plug a phone or mp3 player into the auxiliary port. Overall, this is not a good pack. The bad amp and guitar make each other sonud even worse than they are. But for the tiny price...

...Its loud, its quiet, its light, its dark. The Gear 4 Houseparty 24/7 is an excellent speaker system for your ipod, or any other mp3 or walkman system. I have found it very good for listening as i go to sleep with the timer setting, as an alarm clock or at housepartys. Truly what it says on the tin. I have had it for over two years now, and in all that time the only issues I have found with it are the lack or a port for external speakers to plug into, which limits the sounds, and even thought the screen has three different light levels, even the lowest seems to illuminate the room at night. But overall, excellent quality of sound, excellent style and and excellent buy....
