Mt citroen Xsara Picasso

Advantages: Raise the drivers seat up, lots of storage space
Disadvantages: have problems cleaning the roof, or scraping the windscreen if you are short

...I use to own a citroen saxo, and was never going to have a big car, I thrn had a child and my decsion was changed for me, I needed the extra space that the xsara picasso offered. You have the four door bins and a suitable size glove box, as well as the boot space, as do most cars, but when you look in the boot, on the passenger side you will find extra storage hidden, in which I can hide my St john ambulace bomber jacket, and because the boot has no lip, I don't have to lift my childs buggy over, I can slide it in level with my hips. Then in the back on the floor behind both the drivers and passengers seat are another two storage compartments, in which I can keep my car emergencey kit, plus the three seats in the back are all spilt and individual, with their own over the shoulder seat belts, (no lap belts hooray!!) the middle...

citroen zsara picasso space space space

Advantages: space and easy to drive
Disadvantages: personally haven't got one

...i brought a citroen xsara picasso just after my baby was born as my other car wasnt big enough to get anything else but the pushchair in the boot. i used to have a renault clio which i loved and i was worried about driving a bigger car but there was no need as a picasso is easier to drive and has loads of room in the front and back easy to put the seats down to create more room lots of drinks holders in front and back and i the doors so hopefully no sticky car food trays in the back for the kids easy to use controls and you can view loads of information about how many miles you can do to the petrol already in the tank your average speed how many miles left until a service is due a/c electric windows and mirrors definatley a family car and since purchasing this car i have realised how poular it is and a few of my friends have one too...

Citreon Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI SX

Advantages: Excellent family car, practical.
Disadvantages: Not very interesting drive

...flimsy ones a proper three wheeled monster, and a single three wheeled buggy in there) all three back seats can be folded down and folded forward and taken out aswell( we brought our kitchen from ikea and managed to get everything in the boot with the seats out! ). you have a bottle holder/ cubby hole type thing uner the gearstick which is good for storing phones and keys and things but i would have like to have had some sort of cup holder somewhere. In the front you have a nice driving position, because of the design of the car the gearbox is mounted at the base of the dash so you don't have a big lump between the seats like a normal car, which is really useful for carring long things ( like doors and worktops) the layout of the instuments is spot on for ease of use, the speedo in the middle of the dash takes a bit of getting use to but...

Citroen Xsara SX 110HDi

Advantages: very economical, good performance, comfortable ride
Disadvantages: depreciation, fuel gauge, unnecessary rattles, build quality

...I've always driven diesel cars, and more to the point French diesel predominantly from Citroen and Peugeot [ntably the same company, PSA Group]. Having traded in my 1.9D Citroen ZX Avantage with 150, 000 miles on the clock, I was really looking forward to my first ever brand new car. My main requirements were safety and economy, two qualities the Citroen Xsara SX 110HDi has plenty of. The engine is great, really responsive and lacks the 'tractor sound and vibration' earlier incarnations of the common rail diesel had. Put your foot down, and it goes some, and more. Road handling/suspension is fine, ride 'comfortable', but what irritated me the most were annoying rattles and problems from the day it was driven out of the showroom. The worst was a widely inccurate fuel gauge [a common problem amoung Citroen Xsara owners...

Fault Diagnostics and Citroen UK Support

Advantages: Highly Engineered Engine with potential superior petrol or diesel consumption
Disadvantages: Complexity outstrips normal support ability

...I purchased a Citroen Xsara Picasso SX Automatic October 2003 from Yeomans of Fareham. Within 3 weeks my problems started. Problem Dealer response 1 Car Overheating No Fault found 2 Entire dash display lost Known Fault Fixed 3 Car overheating No Fault found At this point I decided to look my self. Guess what ....no Coolant Fan Blades. Decided that Yeomans were not be trusted by me. Took the car to Citreon Portsmouth. New Fan ordered and fitted. Overheating problem fixed. 4 Car will not idle when cold. No Fault Found 5 Car stalls when cold No Fault Found Fit New...

XSARA DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE

Advantages: Spacious, good looking and reliable
Disadvantages: minor problems after two years and 60000 miles

...Xsara…What a strange name! Perhaps Citroen had a valid reason for naming two of their cars with ridiculous names, maybe we will never know. I bought my brand new Xsara 1.4i, 5-door saloon, in silver grey in January of 2000. My husband had absolutely nothing to do with the choice of car (‘what a brave man’, I hear all you fellow males cry!), and I suppose that it was the efficiency of the dealership which finally swayed me to by this particular make of car above all of the others that I had seemingly spent days wandering around. I didn’t particularly want a new car, but spent a while checking out some offers at the local garages and noticed that I could have a brand new Xsara for just a little more than a 2 year old one (around 7500 used, and 9995 with cash back new). This sounded too good a bargain to me...

Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI SX (2001)

Advantages: Seat flexibility & movement, nice high driving position, cheap tax
Disadvantages: Side visibility, driving in windy conditions, back seatbelts

...breaking (a very small component with a big price of £475) and this can only be fixed by a Citroen dealer. Would I recommend a Picasso? Yes, I would. We have now bought a Mercedes M Class with 7 seats but it is no where near as luxurious and practical as the Picasso and I really miss being able to turn up my volume on the steering wheel when the kids start playing up!...

Citroen Xsara 1.4, 8v 5dr hatch. Tempting??

Advantages: New Shape, nice funky design, handy gadgets, nice sized boot.
Disadvantages: French Design, expensive parts and servicing costs

...I have owned two Xsara's, both excellent for my everyday needs. My first Xsara was a Y reg in Wicked red metallic, came with electric windows, one electric mirror, air con, 4 airbags, rear headrests and the list continues.... As usual a diverted drive around a industrial estate ended up with me falling in love with the Xsara, its sleek cute design caught my eye, A few days later i visited the Citroen garage, found out some more information on the Xsara, seemed a cracking car, i dont want to moan and groan but when things never seem to go right you have to let others know, thinking your doing the right move passing on bad comments. As for my local Citroen dealer..... for those who have experienced it ill say no more. The first Xsara drove fine for the first few weeks and suddenly seemed to develop a fault, it was loosing...

Citroen Xsara 2.0HDi estate

Advantages: Great engine for power and economy, massive boot, bargain 2nd-hand.
Disadvantages: Dull interior, dull image.

...Well, it has done over 90,000 miles now, but the engine remains powerful, the seats supportive and the trim in good condition. Contrary to Citroen's reputation this car has been extremely reliable over the last 5+ years I have owned it, and the dealer's been fair too. Generally underrated, I have driven far newer cars that don't appear to have progressed much at all. Dirt cheap 2nd hand. The best bits are: The strong and economical engine. It shows a clean pair of heels to plenty of surprised Audi/Merc/BMW drivers and I get 40mpg around town, and over 60mpg on motorways. The nice smooth ride, far better than more modern hard-riding cars. It handles well despite the softer ride and the steering has some feel to it. The boot is big for a car of this size, and gigantic with the rear seats folded down. Tyre wear - on average they are...
