Review of PNY Verto GeForce 6 6200 PCI by
Bluebolt44
Advantages: No Hardware Conflicts, Runs newish games perfectly
Disadvantages: None at the moment
...This graphics card has kept me good for over a year now and i have found it a perfect compliment to my current setup...
My computer is nothing special and i dont see it as a gaming pc but it will run ALL games from within the last year perfectly on full graphics, the game i recieved with the card was Farcry which is a great game and runs perfect on the card with full settings.
It is a pci card which is quite good for its kind.
i have run 'F.E.A.R' on full settings with this card and it runs pretty much perfectly and i also have played 'Elder Scrolls: Oblivion' on 3/4 full settings and the computer doesnt struggle which is nice for a game of such caliber.
The card has never broken or faulted and no hardware conflicts with my other components of which all have been upgraded once or so.
The installation is simple and effective...

Gaming on a budget
Review of PNY Verto GeForce 6200 AGP by
sigmatech
Advantages: Good Price, Passive cooling
Disadvantages: Struggles on some of the latest games
...PNY GeForce 6200 256MB AGP
I have been running this card in my PC for the past year without a problem, I brought it initially because it was a reasonable price and was 2 generations ahead of the card I had been running a GE Force4 4200 ti 128mb, and also had twice the amount of RAM 256mb.
A lot of potential buyers would dismiss this card out of hand as it would be considered a budget card and of little use to those who enjoy gaming. I would contradict them as I do enjoy gaming but can't afford a £150 - £300 graphics card in order to play the latest games with all the knobs and whistles turned on; I have however used this card to play most of the latest games, maybe not at the top in game settings but at reduced resolutions and frame rates.
The rest of my rig would also not be the fasted on the market I have a 2000XP Athlon Processor...

Not Worth It
Review of XFX Geforce 7300GS by
Omar788
Advantages: Reliable
Disadvantages: Too slow
...When Nvidia unraveled it's new lower end segment of graphic cards I was eager to purchase one of it's newer products, the 7300gs. I purchased this exact model (XFX) for about £45, at the end of last year. I thought overall it better in gaming than my then video card, the Asus 6200TC.
As soon as I received & tested the thing out, well I was disappointed. The older 6200TC was able to out clock the newer 7300Gs, when overclocked the 6200TC came in at:
520/680
While on the other hand the XFX 7300gs came in at:
560/550
Although the 7300Gs clocked higher than the 6200TC in the core region it didn't clock high enough in the memory region to out perform the older card.
Overall I would have to say if you are considering buying any 7300Gs model, don't. Instead save your money and buy a 7300Gt at the least, you'll get better performance over your...

Get ready to modernise your system.
Review of PNY Verto GeForce 6 6200 AGP8X by
samshep2008
Advantages: Get your money's worth.
Disadvantages: Not enough VRAM.
...Get ready for vista at a tight budget with PNY geforce 6200 AGP.
With 128MB VRAM you can go and enjoy the full range of graphic based tasks that vindows vista home premium has to offer, including the world famous windows aero.
Despite being least powerful out of the PNY/Nvidia geforce GPUs the geforce 6200 has an excellent collections of APIs including:
Direct X 9.0C, OpenGL2.0 and Pixal shader V3.0.
These are better then the original geforce 6 graphic card.
I have not decided to use the graphics card for vista.
Insteed I have used it to upgrade my system to play Elder scrolls IV.
For your information my PC had before hand:
-Windows XP Home edition SP2
-Intel centrino 2.93GHZ Processor plus 512MB RAM
-Old video card: Onboard 32MB gaphics.
-DVD ROM drive plus 80GB Hard drive.
-Sound card.
Now I can play better games and has improved my...

Small, silent - and hard to expand.
Review of AOpen XC Cube Mini MZ915-M - no CPU by
fjuk
Advantages: Very silent, very stylish and very good at performing
Disadvantages: Not too many expansion possibilities, no DVI.
...an equivalent Shuttle.
- It is actually smaller than most other SFF-systems.
- It is SO QUIET! All I ever hear is the harddisk drive (which only whispers).
- Is not picky on RAM - I run it with two different types of Corsair with no problems.
- It is stable and performs well.
The downsides are:
- It is hard to expand. Only room for one harddisk, only slim optical drives and (worst of all) only low-profile expansion cards.
- It was born without safety fuse in the external amp (should be fixed in the later models).
- No DVI on the onboard graphic chip.
In order to make use of my high quality TFT through DVI I had to find a low-profile PCI-E graphic card including a low-profile bracket. I was shocked to realize that most LP-cards is not sold with LP-brackets!
I ended up with a Winfast (LeadTek) Geforce 6200TC which does the job beautifully.
As I have...

Best value card of 2007 and maybe even 2008!
Review of XFX GeForce 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition by
Closeratio
Advantages: Great price:performance ratio, especially now they're less than £150
Disadvantages: SIngle slot cooler means not much overclocking without an aftermarket cooler
...Before I start reviewing this card, I just want readers to bear in mind that the card I had before this one was a GeForce 6200, so I apologise if anything seems exaggerated.
Ok so basically I got this card because I built myself a whole new PC (was sick of the dell, which couldn't be upgraded any further because it had no pci-e slots) and I heard it was a good one. I got it last year about a week after it came out so I unfortunately paid about £170 for it, but it was well worth the money.
I can now purcase a game and pretty much guarentee that I'll be able to run it flat out with all the 'bells and whistles' turned on (I game at 1280*1024), minus maybe crysis. But then again there aren't too many cards that will run that flat out anyway.
So the card. When I got it, I was impressed with the way it was packaged. It comes in a large box...

Transform your ageing PC
Review of PNY Verto GeForce 6 6200 PCI by
JONXLR8
Advantages: Transforms the PCs performance, smooth running, good looking games
Disadvantages: Took a while to install, required spec on packaging doesn't match website
...on the lowest of the low settings. Unfortunately my version of Trigems' Imperial motherboard doesn't have an AGP slot so my hunt for a good quality PCI graphics card started.
After a bit of Googling and a quick read of the e4allupgraders forum I came to the conclusion that PNY and NVIDIA were names to look out for. I was surprised by the lack of choice in PCI graphics cards on Dabs and Ebuyer so bought my card from an eBay shop for just over £50 delivered which was at the time the cheapest I could find. In the package was the card itself, a driver CD, a case sticker, an S-Video cable, a DVI-VGA adapter should you need one, and a very basic and universal install guide. The only strange thing about the packaging was a sticker on the outside of the box stating the minimum required specs were a 400W PSU and a P4 Prescott CPU which didn't match...

Great Value for Performaance
Review of Inno3D GeForce 7300 GT by
Omar788
Advantages: Quite fast for the price, keeps relatively cool,
Disadvantages: The DDR3 version is faster albeit with lower RAM (128mb)
...Let's say your gamer on a budget and because you are, you probably won't have much to spend on a higher spec gaming card such as the 7900gt or the even topper end, 8800gtx. If that is the case you will want to seek out and buy the most powerful card you can buy with how much money you do have. If you do have apparently £45 or £40 to spend then this might be the card for you, if you don't then be patient as any other model card such as the e.g. 7300gs below this price point will not compare to how much performance you get out of this thing. The 7300gt series does have the necessary "horsepower" to play almost all your old games and also judging from the Lost Planet benchmark it is able play
and sustain a decent frame rate (30fps+).
Before I brought this Video card I had a XFX 7300gs which performed only
a tidbit better than a 6200TC...

8800GTS wonder
Review of BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC by
rbell5ciao
Advantages: excellent all round
Disadvantages: physically big
...with the fully functioning 'flip 3D' and transparent windows etc
as my experience with my old nvidia 6200 series card showed.
Wanting this system to hopefully last a couple of years at least, I thought as the new
8000 series was on the market (july 2007) with its ability to run the future DX10 games I looked into the
possibilites. There are more powerful cards in this range but you pay for them not only
in the initial price, but also you have to be careful about cooling and the power available both of which can increase
the overall cost of the computer build.
This card can use up to 400w. My Coolermaster case comes with 2 fans. 1 that leads directly to the CPU the
other a fan for the rest. Note the graphics card itself also has a fan.
Using the screenduo's 'hardware monitor' gadget while running vista it shows CPU 28C MB 36C, after 15mins
gaming...

Cheap, but lacks power
Review of NVIDIA TNT2 M64 by
Dooyoo_Rules
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Slow
...The TNT2 M64 is the budget version of the TNT2 by NVidia. The TNT2 has since been superceded by both the GeForce and the GeForce 2, so it isn't exactly hot new technology.
It is however a good budget option and beats the integrated Intel 810 or 815 graphics to the ground.
It comes with either 16Mb or 32Mb of RAM, and features a 300Mhz RAMDAC. It comes in both PCI and AGP, with the AGP supporting from 1x to 4x.
General Windows performance is good, and it is fast enough to support high resolutions at high refresh rates.
Where it falls down slightly is games. It isn't bad, but it isn't good either. Brand new games are OK but can't be run in the highest resolution. A balance must be made between performance and looks, and if you've just spent a £1000 on a new PC you don't expect this.
At only around £70 it is cheap, but then you can buy...
