...I consider myself lucky in relation to a lot of things in my life, but especially so when it comes to holidays. When I was six my parents took my to Disneyworld in Florida for the first time. Such was the impression that was left on us from that fantastic holiday, that my parents have taken me back there too many times to count since. In 1998, when I was fourteen years old, we stayed at Disneys Wilderness Lodge for the first time. Even by the standards of Disneyworld this phenomenal hotel raised the bar clean out of site, and since then we haven't even contemplated staying anywhere else. Read on to find out why. Van Wilder

Advantages: Some funny scenes, Ryan Reynolds plays his part well.
Disadvantages: Not really bringing anything new to the genre.

...Van Wilder: Party Liaison is a comedy film starring Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid with Kal Penn and Daniel Cosgrove the most notable supporting cast. Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds) has been at Coolidge College for seven years and has shown no intention of graduating. He is enjoying his time there and spends it partying, helping his fellow students and organising parties and fundraisers. Understandably, Van's father no longer wishes to pay for his 'education' and withdraws his funding. As Van is the big man on campus, the college paper journalist, Gwen (Tara Reid) is asked to write a paper on him and his exploits. This is such a success that she writes a follow up paper. Wilder van your average college

Advantages: Mindless humour
Disadvantages: Can be annoying in places

...I expected to hate this & was surprised to find it was very funny., very well made & some excellent set pieces. It's the story of Van Wilder, a slacker, a loser and and underachiever who just can't get on in school. The rather disgusting but very funny scene of the rich kids eating the dog cum cakes. The fact that the rich boyfriend couldn't have sex for longer than 10 seconds. The film is generally a large amount of National Lampoons Animal House and some good characters. Van Wilder is excellently played, not too hard & not too far. All the main actors work very hard especially Van's 2 room mates who develop very well during the course of the movie. It's nice to see the back story of how Van helps the nerds & the swim team & various other less popular people of the school. I didn't really care too much for the girlfriend...

I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. The Palms Retreat and Restaurant, Wilderness

Advantages: Great food, beautiful decor, friendly staff

...My husband and I spent two nights in The Palms in Wilderness in February and we can say without hesitation that this truly is a gem in the Garden Route. Where Wilderness itself is a little unspectacular (An opinion which is possibly tainted somewhat by the grey and rainy weather) - It does sit in a perfect position to take your pick from a plethora of outing possibilities. Your only problem may be that there is so much to choose from. The Palms itself is in no way unspectacular. It is truly a little oasis? Nestled in lush gardens the rooms are secluded and private and finished with a combination of cool African chic and attention to detail which begs the question as to how a fifth star is missing from their official ratings. But this is not pretentious chic, this is natural, comfortable-in-its-own-skin chic. Somehow...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Dawkins, an expert in his field (Evolutionary Biology) explains complex biological ideas in a very interesting and lucid way so that even a layman can understand him. Disadvantages: Difficult to understand for the wrong audience

...The author of this book, Richard Dawkins, is a professor at Oxford University, so you know that what you are about to read is going to be some pretty neat stuff. The book examines the gene as the replicator of DNA, and how every gene is selfish in that it wants to get itself replicated more than any of the other genes it is competing with. Sometimes however these genes benefit and do better in the presence of other genes than they would do on their own, and so organisms form. The book is based strongly on Darwinian Theory of Natural Selection; the Survival of the Fittest.
