...Well this was only the second review I ever wrote on Ciao and after re-reading it thought it could do with editing and improving so here we go!!! Three months ago I purchased a Nimo Electrical Fire from B & Q. It came flat packed and came complete with electrical fire, hearth, mantle piece and fire surround. Very good value for £249.00. The range of fires from B & Q is really quite large and you get various options. You can buy the whole lot together like I did or alternatively you can purchase it all separately. I looked into this and the cost had almost doubled by the time I had finished hand picking the mantle etc that I wanted. ...My fiancée bought me my Philips Jordan Sensiflex electric toothbrush a few months ago, and I can honestly say I don't know what I did without it. Actually I can - I used a naff standard toothbrush. A lot of people have told me lately how nice my teeth are, and I swear that it's because I'm using the electric toothbrush. Sadly I can't offer any comparisons between other electric models, as this is my first. But I can certainly say that this one, which I believe cost my fiancée around £30, is perfectly adiquate and I wouldn't advise anyone to spend any more! The toothbrush comes with an electric charger stand, which can be plugged into a shaver socket. If, like me, you don't have a shaver socket in your bathroom, places like Boots sell converters for around £2.50 which will allow you to plug it into a standard electric socket. Mine... Read review

...It is not very often I have to deal with people who are completely un co-operative and refuse to listen to reason but today Southern Electric went straight to the top of the list. Let me tell you a story. I have a friend who is Swedish but lives in this country and Southern Electric are her suppliers. For several years she had paid £ 40 per month for her electricity with no problems whatsoever. When a friend informed her that it sounded a bit high for a small cottage she contacted Southern Electric who agreed with her and reduced it to £ 30 - which she has continued to pay ever since. Then - disaster struck - after years of estimating bills they finally read the meter and sent her an invoice for over £ 2700. ...I bought a brand new house last year and as such didn't have the choice of who supplied my utilities when I moved in. The house builder had chosen Scottish Power as my electricity provider and London Electricity (or London Energy as they are now called) as my gas company. Things went well with the electicity side of things and I received a welcome letter from Scottish Power as a new customer and then started to receive regular bills from them. If only things were as good as that on the gas front! I bought my house in October 2002 and by February 2003 hadn't had a bill or even heard from London Electricity, so I decided to contact them. ...Toro Electric Recycler Mower (40cm rotary £229) 21072, 1400 watt electric induction motor Ideal for small/medium sized lawns. It's that time of year again, the grass is growing, the sap is rising, out comes the trusty old mower - "oh****", perhaps its not so trusty after all. ...We are on Southern Electric but we never have a bill. A few years ago we swopped over to having a key. This means that we pay for the electricity before we use it. We do this by taking the key to the local shop and handing it over the counter. They put it in a machine and put on the key however much money we want. A bit like a swipe card for your mobile phone. We then take it home put it in our meter and hey presto we have electricity for that amount. Bet you are asking what if the shops shut or we forget. Well then we go on emergency. This means we have £5 worth of electricity that we can use. To "pay it back" we just charge our key when we can plus with an extra £1 and back to normal. This saves us having bills and not knowing how much it will be. We know exactly how much electricity we use and no bill. We have... Read review

...There are bands that throw a bomb into the musical firmament, and leave shockwaves that can be seen for years after inspiring generations to take up guitars and upset their parents. The Ramones were one of those bands, The Happy Mondays were one of those bands, The Beetles were one of those bands, U2 want to be one of those bands, Any band with Phil Collins in it will never be one of those bands, Electric Six are definitely not one of those bands even though they don’t have Phil Collins in the band…… Electric Six are one of those bands that remind us that Rock and Roll is a hell of a lot of fun, and since I like Disco, then a fission of Rock and Roll and disco done this well is awesome. ...I think it is fair to say that I was prepared and planned for Aleyna's birth. I spent the last 2 months of my pregnancy nesting, organising, obsessing, much to my husband's delight as I am normally a little slovenly!! However nothing could have prepared us for Aleyna spending 2 weeks in intensive care. I had already bought the Medela Electric breast pump, I knew I would be going back to work after a short time and I knew if at all possible that I wanted to breastfeed. When my milk had still not come in 5 days after Aleyna's birth (she was on a serum drip in the incubator so no milk for her at that stage), with a little help from the midwife I decided to focus on getting my milk supply going in order to give her the best start if and when she was able to take milk.
