Genting - a place for everyone
Advantages: So much to do and you will never get bored
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...Genting Highlands is one of the most famous integrated entertainment resort in Malaysia. It is located 58 kilometres away from Kuala Lumpur (only about an hour's ride) and as it is high up on the mountain, the air is cool and temperature is lower compared to Kuala Lumpur. There are a few hotels in the resort ranging from five star to budget.
Genting Highlands is a place for the whole family. So much to do and you don't know where to start. I would like to share with you my experience and what I have observed so that you would be able to maximise your time there.
How to get there:
Express bus:
Genting buses depart from 4 places in Kuala Lumpur. The most convenient for foreigners would be KL Sentral. KL Sentral is also the station for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport express train. Various ways to get to KL Sentral include...

Genting,An Entertainment and Gaming Haven
Advantages: Good Entertainment,Lively, Good Food, Cool
Disadvantages: Garish,Not to Everyone's taste, Gambling is encouraged
...Located some 2000 metres above sea levelin the state of Pahang and famous for its casino de Genting. Genting Highlands is only 50 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur and is the easiest Malaysian hill resort to get to.
This hill resort in sharp contrast to other Malaysian hill stations such as Cameron Highlands, Fraser's Hill or Maxwell Hill, is not the place for eco or nature tourism. It is unashamedly given over to hedonist pursuits including gaming, theatre style entertainment, amusement and theme parks, indoor video games, and coin-operated games.
The Outdoor Theme Park offers heart pumping, high adrenaline rides such as the Corkscrew Roller Coaster, Cyclone and Runaway Mine Train. There is a well-landscaped artificial lake where boaters can paddle around to their heart's content.
In the Indoor Theme Park there is a huge variety...

The Belgium of theme parks
Advantages: Good range of rides, decent range of food and drink, no pressure selling
Disadvantages: Queues on certain rides
...Twenty-five minutes drive south-east of Brussels, and just south of the French-Brussels language border is the town of Wavre, on the outskirts of which is a theme park, Walibi Belgium. Originally opened in 1975 by Eric Meeus (there is a plaque in his honour just inside the gates), the park has changed names a number of times in the few years we have lived here ? Walibi, Six Flags and back to Walibi again. On part of the complex, there is Aqualibi, which is a water theme park, but since I have never been inside, this review will only deal with the park. Aqualibi is subject to a separate charge from the main park.
WHAT RIDES ARE THERE?
Walibi is a serious theme park, with lots of rides that you would expect at places like Alton Towers or Chessington World of Adventures. The park has classified the rides under four headings...

Taste of Sprouts: The proxamity of Belgium
Advantages: It's close, it's charms are well known
Disadvantages: It's confusing
...Taking advantage of some exceptionally good travel offers from an on-line travel agent we recently spent a five-day ?City break? exploring Belgium. We had been to Brussels before (a short pre-Christmas trip about five years ago) so heeding the advice of that CIAO sage Proxam we decided to see some more of the country than just the capital. We were also quite curious to experience for ourselves the suggested ?Unity of Europe? there at the heart of the Community. Maybe we would be able to divine something of the truth behind all the current political and economical manoeuvrings. After all I have been more than happy to use the Euro because it has the attraction of being foreign ? just as long as it remains so! I have also enjoyed other trips to foreign lands ? it is the foreignness that makes them so appealing.

Beer, Breweries, Bars and Belgium!
Advantages: A good guide with useful info and humour.
Disadvantages: Is only his opinions.
...There are a few things that I just HAVE to pack when we go to Belgium. These are passport (can't get out of the country without it), money (beer tokens are needed for the trip!), clean underwear (well we ARE in company) and Tim Webb's Good Beer Guide Belgium. We do go to Belgium quite often and like to head off on the train to cities, towns and villages near where we are staying. Usually this is to check out the bars and to sample new and interesting beers. This is why the Good Beer Guide Belgium has become an essential tool for the Belgian Beer drinker.
~~~THE LAYOUT.
The book is divided into sections making it very easy to find what you want. The index is also split into an alphabetical list of places and then beers, so you can cross reference the two if you need. The sections of the book are detailed on the contents page...
Earthtone9 "Arc'tan'gent" CD LP
Advantages: An Excellent and Interesting album that's a Classic in its Genre.
Disadvantages: It might be a Slow-Burner for some.
...**ALBUM INTRODUCTION**
If you want to know what hard work is about, just take a look back at alternative metal band earthtone9. If they weren't touring they were producing first-rate albums (and they produced three in just over two years) and it is here that we look at their third and last album. It's was recorded at Philia Studios in Henley on Thames and Backstage Studios in Ripley with the production by the acclaimed Andy Sneap (who used to be in legendary 80's UK metal band Sabbat).
**ALBUM LINE-UP**
Karl Middleton (Vocals).
Owen Packard (Guitars, inc Bass).
Joe Roberts (Guitars).
Simon Hutchby (Drums).
Jamie Floate (Bass).
Fascinating Fact1 (lol): Owen actually played the Bass on 'arc'tan'gent'. When previous Bass player Graeme Watts left, they brought in Jamie Floate, but he only helped them out with a handful of gigs...
Belgium IS cool and froody
Advantages: A real Goscinny book...
Disadvantages: ...but the last one.
...Asterix in Belgium marks the end of an era, as it was the last Asterix adventure to be written by Rene Goscinny before his death. As an epitaph it's not at all bad - I wouldn't class it as one of the great Asterix books, but it's by no means poor, and is well up to previous standards.
The premise of the story is, like most of the series, a simple one. Julius Caesar has said that the Belgians are the bravest of all the Gaulish people. This does not go down at all well with Chief Vitalstatistix, and so he decides to visit the Belgians himself, and prove just who is the bravest. Asterix and Obelix, of course, are deputed by Getafix to accompany the chief (in spite of his initial objections), and, once arrived, the trio divide their time between eating and fighting (Obelix is in his element here!), the latter according to carefully drawn...
I would say the nicest town in Belgium
Advantages: A reallynice town for a trip, you can reach it quickly by train or car.
Disadvantages: Few of the people is speaking english.
...For my first opinion on Ciao UK i choosed something I know perfectly, Namur.
First I would like to mention that english is far to be mymother tongue and that I'm writing here to improve my english. So don't judge me too hard, but don't hesitate to post any comment on BIG errors.
Okay just go on with the real subject now.
Namur is in Belgium, I bet you all know where Belgium is. So I won't explain you how to get in Belgium.
Namur is the headcity of Wallonia ( Belgium is dived in two main areas, Flandria and Wallonia, In Wallonia we speak french and in Flandria, they speak Dutch ).
The first thing you notice when ariving in Namur, is its castle, on top of the city, dominating it. That's really a good place to visit, cause thats full of nice history facts. More there is a little perfume enterprise quite famous, its name is...
Belgium,Belgium,Beautiful Belgium!
Advantages: English speaking,friendly people,beautiful!
Disadvantages: Pickpockets
...Having lived for 2 years in Belgium I thought I must write a review on this place.
I adore Brussels and Belgium in general, and now regard it as my home away from home.
I first went to Belgium on a school holiday with the History and Geography sector, but I didn't think too much of it back then in 1994. But how things change!
I was offered a job in Belgium, just outside Brussels in August 2000 to work as a nanny in a French family, and have loved the place ever since.
I visit Brussels as often as I can as I still have very close friends living there, it's great to have somewhere to stay when visiting. Very practical indeed!
I have just spent the past 4 months living back in Belgium, and I still love it there as much as I ever did.
Belgium is a very multi-cultured place to visit, with people visiting constantly from all...
Brussels on a budget
Advantages: easy to get to, the Grand Place
Disadvantages: Mannakin Pis is dissapointing, takcy tourist shops
...Question
What does one do when you want to celebrate finishing the taught part of a Masters degree and want to go away but are so broke even the cheapest trip to Spain is not an option?
Answer.
Book a very cheap flight for a mini break to Brussels the capital of Belgium. I did this in June 2003 and I had a great time.
I flew with Ryanair from John Lennon airport in Liverpool to Charleroi airport in Brussels. Or so I thought it was in Brussels. It was near enough an hour from the airport to Midi railway station. The connecting bus is a rip off at 10 euros. Since there were four of us on the way there we took a taxi that cost us 35 euros. The airfare was really cheap. It only cost £20 for a return fare including all taxes.
Due to the European Parliament Brussels has cheap hotels at the weekend instead of during mid week. We were...
