Winner on points - George Foreman!
Review of George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine by
rickardo
Advantages: Slick and easy to store
Disadvantages: Takes a while to cool
...Christmas 2003 was a turning point for our household. Not only were Only Fools and Horses on TV but we were also given a George Foreman Grill thanks to very generous friends.
I had been on the Atkins diet for several months but my wife was on the Rosemary Connoly Hip & Thigh diet. With this gift the vast gulf between low-fat and low carbohydrate was bridged.
We have now become almost evangelical in out recommendation of this excellent product.
There are many different variants of the original product. Some have bun warmers, some have outside barbecue dimensions and properties, but our grill is a simple grill!
You can cook four rashers of bacon side by side in this – at a pinch.
I have no idea how much was paid for our George Foreman Grill but a sneak into Robert Dyas sees a whole range available starting at around £35...

George Foreman's Liposuction For Hamburgers
Review of George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine by
BNibbles
Advantages: Extracts huge amounts of fat. Cheap to run
Disadvantages: Everything gets the 'brown-stripe' treatment.
...Quite why an ex-heavyweight boxer should be endorsing a range of kitchen gadgets is a mystery, now ‘Wozza’s’ range of kettles, toasters etc I can relate to, but a boxer’s?
Anyway, be that as it may, George Foreman does endorse kitchen gadgets, and good ones they are, if my experience of the ‘Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine’ is anything to go by.
Still, it could have been worse - it could have been George Formby.
‘Eeeee, this bacon’s turned out nice again!’
‘I’m sitting on the worktop,
Next to the microwave,
Until a certain little banger comes by,
Oh grill, not fry,
Until a certain little sausage comes by…..’
…..but I digress.
APPEARANCE
On first exit from the box, you appear to have bought an overgrown sandwich toaster, since it consists of two platens, the first forming the base, and the second...

George Foreman GR10005
Review of George Foreman GR10005 by
Mattletcher
Advantages: easy to use, easy to clean, cooks almost anything
Disadvantages: would be better if it had a timer, but still easy to operate
...Ideal for anyone who doesn\'t like greasy, oil drenched food! Any items in the George Foreman range of 'mean, lean, grilling machines' significantly reduce the amount of fat that you end up attempting to digest.
Once turned on, it automatically heats up to an ideal cooking temperature and the red light automatically turns off. All you have to do is simply place one of the two drip trays underneath the grill, put the food inside, and wait a short time for it to be grilled to a very high standard, even the thickest Cumberland sausages will be cooked with ease in less than 10 minutes. One downside is that it does not have a timer so you will have to keep an eye on the food you are cooking. If at any time the temperature drops below the ideal temperature, the light comes back on and gives it a boost to quickly get back to an ideal...

A George Foreman for all occasions!
Review of George Foreman 10782 by
princess_lu
Advantages: Easy to clean, fast heat up and healthy!
Disadvantages: Small... depending on the price you pay
...There is a lot of pressure on the public to become increasingly healthy nowadays. This means eating properly, which isn't always easy on a budget and in a fast paced world. That's what this little machine was invented for! I'm going to review the small George Foreman, which you can buy from most electrical retailers. The model GEORGE FOREMAN 11757 can be bought currently at Comet for £29.99.
Basically it's a small grill, with a floating hinge, which means you don't have the problem you get in sandwich toasters of squashing the filling! It makes wonderful 'café style' sandwiches, and you can put in as much or little filling as you need, as it will not ruin the asthetics of your sandwich. You also get those nice to look at stripes across the bread, and it toasts to a perfect golden brown with very little need for butter/spread.

Silver George Foreman MINI Grill + Griddle!
Review of George Foreman MINI Grill + Griddle 13589-56 by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Creates good tasting food with that freshly BBQ'd look and flavour!
Disadvantages: Expensive, hard to clean and quite bulky to keep on the side
...using, letting it coll and cleaning it I had to wind up the cord and put it in a cupboard.
It is easy to use and the manual is good however it's pretty much striaght forward; i.e. plug in, switch switch, choose setting, turn dail and set time to cook. The only problems I had really were not much to do with using the mechanisms of it but just the fact that the plates get so hot and i over lap my fingers around the handlge that I got burnt a few times and have 3 nice little tear scar marks just above the tips if my fingers and the surface top of my hand.
The other problem I had with this George foreman cooking device was the very difficult task of cleaning it. Especially when one cooks oily, fatty, greasy or cheesy items as the wonderful slope that is designed to tip fat away from your food, actually causes more hasle and possibly more...

George Foreman got it right
Review of George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine by
MAllen400
Advantages: No Fat
Disadvantages: You can see how much fat you would have had in your food
...During the bank holiday Currys had a one off sale of George Foreman grills selling their £59.99 (already a sell price) for just £9.99. Well who could resist this - I couldnt.
I know we havent had it long but gosh we have used it so much that I feel we have already had our monies worth from it.
You can use this machine for almost anything. Beef, fillets, burgers, sausages, gammon, chicken, kebabs and lamb. These are the first things you think of using it for then you discover that you can use it for things like prawns, salmon, sword fish and not only that but for fruit such as bananas, peaches and pineapples. Also most vegetables.
How to use
The first thing you must remember that it does get very hot so go careful and not be tempted to use your fingers for putting food on the grill.
Plug in the grill and you will see...

George Foreman GR20 (updated)
Review of George Foreman Junior GR20 by
yabbis21
Advantages: Healthy burgers and sausages
Disadvantages: Not self cleaning
...The health grill was manufactured by a man named George Foreman but i suppose you knew that anyway as the name on the product is a perfect givaway.
If you like eating junk food but without the fat then this is the product for you as you can grill almost anything in it you name it , burgers, sausages, and bacon i have even cooked steak in it and the best part is you can cook them in no time at all it doesnt take half as much time as cooking under a grill as there is no messing about turning the food over as it cooks both sides at the same time.
When the food is cooking the fat drains from the food onto a small tray which is provided with the grill well it actually provides you with two trays but you can only use one at a time.
This machine comes in three colours silver and green, silver and blue and silver and black.
The green...

George Foreman GR10 - Fast Worker
Review of George Foreman GR10 by
girlgrey
Advantages: Cooks quickly and easy to clean
Disadvantages: Pretty small and flimsy plastic clasp of bun warmer
...The George Foreman GR10 is a great invention and probably one of the most frequently used appliances in my kitchen. It is godsend for those people without a microwave as it cooks from frozen and if timed correctly the food is cooked well and not dry at all. The grill has a floating hinge which means cooking thicker portions of meat is easy and foods cook quickly since the grill heats up fast. The grill is easy to clean but best done when it is still slightly warm before the fat sticks in the grooves. You get a drip tray and scraper which are both easily washable.
It is not perfect however and while this small version is a neat size I would really only recommend this it when cooking for 1-2 people. The bun warmer on top of the actual grill itself is ok but I've only ever really used it once or twice and find it more of a novelty...

George Foreman
Review of George Foreman GR10 by
lesleyalan
Advantages: Reduces fat in your diet. Easy to use . Cuts down on cooking time
Disadvantages: Difficult to clean , no control over temperature , drip trays are not wide enough
...in 3 minutes.
It takes about 5 minutes to fully heat up.
I would recomend brushing oil onto the hotplate as even though it is non-stick the meat juices tend to set hard onto the hotplate.
If you plan to use this to cook anything except the above foods then buy another model of the george Foreman grill with a temperature setting control and a timer....

Jumbo size george foreman grill
Review of George Foreman GR36 by
palaceorganiser
Advantages: Cooks up to 5 or 6 chicken breasts
Disadvantages: I have found none. Size and storage could be a difficulty
...We bought this grill because our cooker broke and a replacement wasn't available for a week and now I have my new cooker I barely use it except for the hobs. I use my George Foreman grill at least once a day. I think it is the best thing I have bought for a long time. Not only does it cook foods faster and healthier it seals in the flavours of the foods, mushrooms are my favourite so far (we have only had it 2 weeks). The design of the hot plates allows fats to run down into a drip tray as they are on a gentle slope. They are also easy to clean, just wipe with damp kitchen roll before you eat and clean with soapy water after. You can buy specially designed cleaning pads for this job although not essential. It has a floating hinge allowing different thickness foods to cook evenly because if the meat is thicker than the veg the lid...
