...From the bus station in Penang (which is just a couple of minutes from the bridge from mainland Malaysia) it was no trouble getting a cab to our hotel as there were a load of drivers calling out at us to give us a ride. It took about 15 minutes from here to get to Hotel Mingood which is in the historical Georgetown (the main town in Penang). The drive is an interesting one taking you past what is typical Malaysia - a run down and falling apart shed with washing hanging up on a line outside and a dirty dog sleeping in the mud (hard to believe this is someone's home) whilst towering high above it is a huge billboard with a gorgeous man and woman sporting glittering jewellery, sleek watches or trendy clothes advertising the likes of Cartier or Louis Vuitton! Penang:Places of Interest

Advantages: Great sites. Exotic. Friendly people. Pro British
Disadvantages: Can get crowded

...there is a lot to see and do in Penang and I would recommend visits to these major attractions,as well as soaking up the sun and lazing on the beach at Batu Ferringhi and going on a shopping orgy in Georgetown First head for the Penang Botanical Gardens which is located just off Jalan Waterfall. Cititel - City Hotel

Advantages: Excellent location, Fabulous food and facilities
Disadvantages: No beach access, more business orientated than tourist

...I guess the title sums up the entire review really (as it should!), the Cititel Hotel is a marvelous, typical Malaysian four star hotel. It's a little out of place where it is on the island as most of the 'posh' hotels have beach access, but as this is aimed more towards the business centre of Georgetown than the beach-side, it kind of falls between the two stalls. However it's still typical Malaysian high quality at a reasonable price. Don't get me wrong the Hotel itself is an amazing place. Fully air-conditioned, superb facilities, wonderful food and top-class service. My room was a double even though I paid for a single, the standard of cleanliness was faultless, the bed was soft but not horrible, the TV had a few english- speaking channels and the bathroom was a delight in Marble!!! Advantages: Cheap/Food/Shopping/Visa runs from thailand

...Georgetown was the town that I liked very much. Had some great shops and the prices were also good. Hotels were a lot cheaper than Kuala Lumpur. A trip across the suspension bridge to the mainland is worth doing. Also get a 360-degree view of Georgetown and go to the top of Komtar building. Like me - Don't tell the staff when you reach the top that you want to "base jump". They won't find you funny and will call security. It may sound kind of odd, but I would also recommend having a meal inside the Komtar Tower at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The standard was just unreal. The recipe they use is far better than any other KFC I've been to. Georgetown was defiantly the place to go shopping. Loads of computer stuff and loads of places to eat all at great prices. The Nations Capital

...Washington DC is the nations capital of the US and it is strategically located in between the states of Maryland and Virginia to form what is called the Washington DC Metropolitan area.You could get into the general area through either Dulles international Airport or the Reagan National Airport.The Reagan National airport is closer to the city and you could catch the metro train to take you downtown.As a matter of fact getting around the whole Washington DC metropolitan area is easy with the train service.If you want nightlife there are so many places.Just head down towards the Georgetown area and there will be many nightclubs and bars that you could go to especially during the weekends.If you want some site seeing head towards the Washington Mall(great site),the white house and the capital hill building is just aroud the corner...

THRILLERS NEED DECENT WRITING TOO
