Streets of London, absolutely the best restaurant on the coast

Advantages: Great food, great prices, fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, family welcome
Disadvantages: I can't have the chef at home :(

...Having lived on the Costa Del Sol myself I have visited my fair share of restaurants from Sotogrande to Malaga. I have to say that the streets is the best restaurant I have dined in to date. The food is absolutely mouth watering, the customer service is fantastic even down to the fact that the owner brought down his little boy who played with my children during our stay. He sat and had a conversation with us about all sorts and was generally very friendly. I do admit to drinking a little more Sangria than I should and even living in Spain it's harder than you think to get Sangria freshly made and not out of a tap-not here! Freshly made with fresh ingredients right before your eyes. The value for money in unbelievable, we fed our family of five with three course meals for 70 euros. I did not begrudge him a penny of it because...

LONDON'S CALLING

Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location
Disadvantages: Views from room

...eateries/drinking places and chose 372, which offers carvery selection. I was surprise how hot and fresh the food was. Not only that it was tasty too! We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. That said I ALWAYS OVER cook my veggies. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed. Our meal for two with drinks cost £29) Hotel: the hotel it situated in the Strand which is in central London and easy to walk to theatres such as the Aldwych, Lyceum, and many more. Come out the front of the hotel and turn right, and you?ll be heading towards Trafalgar square with Nelson, bear left and you...

Carnaby Street

Advantages: Different shops, unique, less crowded than Oxford St, near oxford circus tube, easy to get to
Disadvantages: None

...This review is way out of date, Carnaby Street has changed a lot over the past few yrs. Ignore it. Introduction ~~ Carnaby Street, well it was once the place to go in the 60's and 70's but now it's a bit less well-known. Which I think is rather good as it is less-crowded than Oxford St, Covent Garden, Regent St, etc. Location ~~ Carnaby Street could not be in a better location. It is just 3 or 4 minutes from Oxford Circus. tube station and is also within easy reach of Marlborough St and is no more than a 15 minutes walk from anywhere in Soho. Shops ~~ The shops in Carnaby St. vary quite a lot from trendy fashion shops to the old cheap and tacky tourist shops. My favourite particular shop on Carnaby St. is the Mambo shop. If you haven't heard of Mambo they are a Australian surf/skate brand. Well I did mention cheap...

Diamond review  Let's Take A Stroll Down Oxford Street

Advantages: Lots and lots of shops - you'll be entertained all day long
Disadvantages: Very very crowded, smelly, noisy and full of annoying tourists

...the West End. So if you're stuck in Anne Summers, trying on a fiddly pair of suspenders, and cars and parking fines slip right out of your mind, you may well return to find a nice big clamp on your wheels and a friendly little note on your windscreen demanding payment for your sins. The bus is a fairly good choice to opt for. It's a lot cheaper than the tube for a start. The most you'll ever have to pay is £1.00, whereas on the tube, even if you're only travelling from one stop to the next, you'll have to fork out a ridiculous £1.60. However, the bus is obviously going to face the same traffic congestion as the car and it can take literally HOURS to crawl a very short distance. For information on bus and tube services, visit the London Transport website (www.londontransport.co.uk), or give them a call on 020 7222 1234. I hope you like...

Green streets of London

Advantages: graphic portrayal
Disadvantages: graphic portrayal

..., they've got it wrong. We live in an area, where football is a way of life, and my 19-year-old son, and 16-year-old daughter go to matches all the time, and have done since they were little tots and have never seen violence on this scale. Also my neighbour was a leading member of an infamous football gang or (firm) as they liked to be known, and he agrees, that it is a portrayal of times gone by. It does show Friendship and loyalty, but also shown is mans primeval ways, of hunter, warrior, being part of the pack, and tracking/stalking its prey and moving in for the kill, are we so different from our animal cousins? Its gang rivalry at its worst, booze raged thugs on the streets of London. It still makes excellent viewing, showing that if pushed enough, even the most timid of us will strike out. Its knowing when enough is enough...

Dancing in Dover Street

Advantages: Good food and atmosphere
Disadvantages: Can be pricey

...later (not everyone stays on after the meal, so plenty of room on the dance floor) the toilets were lacking in a little bit of attention as far as replacing toilet rolls, and tidying up of paper towels. I would have expected slightly better from this place as far as that was concerned, as it tries to promote itself as a sophisticated venue. Ladies toilets are plentiful and I never experienced a queue. Booking is advised, regardless of the night of the week. If you wish to come just for the music and bar, then there is a cover charge after 10pm. Stranded in London!

Advantages: Excellent central location; good bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms a bit old fashioned; a little pricey

..." - the inner courtyard of the hotel with the humming air conditioners at the bottom. I can live (or sleep) with that, but there was also an awful rattling, like pipes, coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We went back downstairs to complain, and were told there were no other rooms. After standing our ground they eventually checked us in to an alternative room on the 4th floor. A little bigger, but still not brilliant - probably "average", from past business stays down in London hotels. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly, as other reviews have mentioned. Despite being "club" rooms, all that appeared to be different was the decor. Instead of old-fashioned wall-to-wall flowerey decor and furnishings, it was plain duck-egg walls, and a "modern" bed (faux-leather headboard and plain brown and green blankets). Not worth the extra money...

The German Shepherd

Advantages: loyal, intelligent, bold and protective
Disadvantages: needs excersize, alot of space

...The German shepherd is a bold, affectionate, loyal and trustworthy and intelligent canine companion. I have experience from when i was just five years of age with the breed as my parents used to show and breed this breed of dog. as far as i am aware of there are two mental types of German shepherd. there are the English type and the German type. the English type bloodlines are heavier in weight, bigger in bone and more laid back and calm where as the German type are lighter smaller in bone and very energetic and hyperactive. also the English type is more sable and black in colour and the Germans type is an almost red tan and black. Both types i have to say are a lovely dog to own and choose as a doggy companion but the German type needs more excercise to please the energy he/she has to burn off. my parents used to breed...

Regent Street

Advantages: Hamleys
Disadvantages: Too many people, too much traffic

...If you haven't been to London before, then go to Regent Street. Less chain-store oriented than Oxford Street, its best feature is easily Hamleys, with over 5 floors of toys and games. There is a great ice-cream shop close to the Piccadilly Circus end, as well as Cheers bar, themed on the American TV show, and lots of specialist shops like the Apple store, and Liberty's is just round the corner. However, if you've been to London before, then avoid this street, as it is always packed with people, and Saturdays are a complete nightmare. There are many better places to see, and I much prefer the streets leading off it, like Carnaby, which have more interesting shops, and are a lot less manic....

i do not rate carnaby street

Advantages: Famous Landmark
Disadvantages: Over rated, over priced, over crowded

...I am going to upset some people by writing this, but i do not like visiting Carnaby Street at all! To me, Carnaby Street is awful. 75% of the shops are full of the same stuff; Tee Shirts and Posters of film and music stars, cheap sunglasses and shoes and hats, all of which is abundant in nealy every other shop along Oxford Street, Camden Market and most other 'tourist oriented' shopping areas. I have also been told by the 'older' generation, that Carnaby Street used to be an amazing place during the 60's and 70's, full of individualism and fun. They, like me, do not see that now. To give credit where it's due, there is an amazing but pricey Computer Console Games shop which specialises in Import Games stuff, but to be honest, for great clothes and records etc, cut through one of the side roads off Carnaby Street (it runs...
