Gerry Marsden keeps on rolling

Advantages: a quality entertainer

...Gerry & the Pacemakers are still touring and packing out venues as they finish their tour of the UK. I had the privilege of going to a concert by them called an "evening to remember "on ( 2/2/01) at the Whitby pavillion. This venue might only be classed as a small hall but nearly a thousand people packed the pavillion to witness what I can only describe as a fantastic performance by the group. The pacemakers themselves are not the originals from the sixties but that did not matter a jot. The main man himself Gerry Mardsen singer and songwriter is very much an original and he's still got that golden voice he's always had. Gerry Anderson the string man

Advantages: Good cast, excellent characterisation, perfect casting!

...Thunderbirds is a well known cartoon, sponsored by Supermarionation, who is a string company. All Gerry Anderson programmes are made using Supermarionation, which is puppets using strings. My opinion on the programme is they should remove the string and put in computerised characters, to make the programme more exciting! But this programme was made in the 60's. I have nearly all the episodes on video! Tracy Island is among one of the many expensive Thunderbirds toys! I think they should lower the prices of the toys!! LOL! At the momment, the island and the thunderbirds together cost around £65!! I dislike the way Gerry Anderson does not use more computerised things in Thunderbirds!! The sound on the programmes is not as good as it is in the movie and videos. I really enjoy watching Thunderbirds at 8:00 pm at night...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

...Looking at CW Anderson, your first impression might be that he would be better off in WCW. That impression would be quite wrong. CW may be getting on in years, but this veteran is a great leader for less experienced talent in ECW in the same way that The Undertaker has led the locker room in the World Wrestling Federation. His character is a reminder of wrestling's not so glamourous side. Scarred, broken faced and with a bitter demeanour, he likes to dominate opponents in the ring with stiff punches and the occasional powerful or technical manouver. However, there is more to CW than meets the eye. The Fantastic Mr Anderson

Advantages: Very well made film, very well acted, very entertaining

...Having loved ?Fantastic Mr Fox? by Roald Dahl as a child and generally being disappointed by book to film adaptations in general, I wasn?t hugely enthusiastic about going to see this film. My boyfriend was insistent, however, so I went to see it with him last night with relatively low expectations. If the film hadn?t been made by Wes Anderson, responsible for the excellent ?Darjeeling Limited? and ?The Royal Tenenbaums?, I doubt I would have been talked into going. I am very glad that I was. The Fantastic Mr Fox was one of the best films that I have seen in quite a while, and thought that it was adapted for the screen in a very beautiful and interesting way. Gerry Giraffe He Makes Us Laugh

...I bought this for a five month old baby boy Josh who has just started attending my setting. I had read several reviews about the Lamaze baby toys before buying this giraffe and liked the fact you can use it from newborn until baby is 2-3 years old. Gerry is designed to help babies through various stages of development. I let the older children I care for choose a name for him (with a bit of help from Debbie) and we picked Gerry. ~What Gerry Looks Like~ Gerry is quite comical looking with a happy cheeky face, he is very brightly coloured (red, white, black, blue, green, pink, orange) with various patterns all over him.
