...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Review of Hotel International, Paris

Ghana, my experience.

Advantages: beautiful people and beautiful country
Disadvantages: none really

...In October 2003, my best mate and I did something that to this day, I cannot believe we did, we went to Ghana for a week on our own, no kids or partners. We have 10 children between us and had disgust many times that we thought we deserved a break, never really beleiving that we would go away for a week-end to the beach, let alone Ghana! After a long shift at work one night, my mate went home and booked flights to Ghana for us both, texted me to say she had done this and would I honestly go, in my tired state I agreed. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My friend is married to a lovely man who has family in Sekondi Takoradi, so we only had flights to worry about, which alone cost £500. Kumasi - Ghana's second largest city

Advantages: Views, wildlife, tradition

It is the heartland of all Asante and the ancient Asante Kingdom. Kumasi was founded in 1695 by the Asantehene Osei Tutu. Kumasi has various attractions such as palaces, museums, forts, churches, festivals and traditional articrafts. It also has the largest open air market in West Africa. Around Kumasi are the little artisan villages where traditional handcrafts, wood carvings and native woven cloths are sold. Among the attractions to visitors are the local funerals that usually take place on Saturday, where mourners wear the traditional red and black with drumming, dancing and drinking. Belfast International Airport

Advantages: Internet, Cheap car parking
Disadvantages: Can get boring after 18 hours

...Belfast International Airport (Belfast Aiport) I flew out of belfast airport around four years ago, when I did fly out of the airport it was a bad time to fly out. The day before we where to depart to orlando the shoe bomber came on the scene! So the airport secuirty was put up. But the airline I was travelling with most of their planes had Technical difficuilties. So I was delayed for 30 hours and had to stay in the Hilton over night. So I should be able to tell you enough about it as I was in it for 24 hours. Area... The Belfast airport isn't in belfast, it is closer to Antrim a city near belfast. The airport is around 12 or 13 miles away from Belfast. So I don't know why they called it Belfast International Airport. But there is a hotel beside the airport. So if you have a early flight and you coudn't be bothered to get up...

Review of Belfast International Airport

Definitely an International Airport .

Advantages: Clean ,modern,good facilities,plenty of luggage trolleys,some great views on arriving
Disadvantages: Too busy and brusque at times .

...We flew into Faro International Airport this year after a two and a half hour flight from Humberside Airport England . Faro is situated centrally along on the Algarve coast of Portugal and so gives easy access to most of the coastal resorts . The airport is quite large and a very busy destination . As we were disembarking and being herded onto a bus to take us to the arrivals, more planes were departing and landing . There are nice gardens surrounding the airport . The views as you fly in low over the sea are quite spectacular at times and disappointing at others .The 'mud flats' look very unappealing . Unlike England smoking restrictions are only the same as they ever were . This means that as soon as you are through arrivals you are able to smoke in the airport . Advantages: Trouble-free shopping at bargain prices.

Review of Internationale (Shop)

The original international track and field on the DS

Advantages: Loads of events to master, great graphics and great fun
Disadvantages: Some of the games are a bit hard to master, possibility of ruining the touch screen

...I remember playing International Track and Field back in 1999 on the original Sony Playstation. Playing this in single player mode was boring it was a game to be played with mates and we used to enjoy nothing more than going head to head across the wide range of athletics events available from the 100m sprint to the hammer throw. I remember the abuse the control pads took whilst playing this game. Frantic button bashing was required for every single event, with the 100m, 400m and swimming events giving the control pad the most abuse. Through trial and error we learnt that rather than bash the buttons separately if you put a scarf or old t-shirt over your knuckles and scrapped it across the buttons you could get your character to run faster of throw further. June 2008 saw International Track and Field launched on the Nintendo DS...

International Drive... Orlando

Advantages: Interesting place to be
Disadvantages: can be a bit pricey

...Well yes its me back writing again after my holidays in Florida, so I thought why not write about this wonderful Drive which is actually situated some 8 miles from Down Town Orlando. What is International Drive ? It is the one of the Major Tourist road in the Orlando Area (Orange County), just about every major Hotel chain has one or more hotels on International Drive ( called I-Drive by the locals and regulars), in between these hotels there is to be found loads of souvenir shops, Chemists and Restaurants...mainly concentrated in the central area of I-Drive from Seaworld ( at the bottom end ) to Belz Factory Outlet at the top of the central area some 4 miles between the two... The Restaurants are really good family eating places with names like Sizzlers, Ponderosa, Denny's and our favourite 'Golden Coral' offer one price help...

However, there appears to be a familiar trait occurring on every high street in Britain, something I like to call the "Clipboard Sharks". My most recent run in with the clipboard sharks came this weekend and whilst usually the Red Cross bare the brunt of my mutterings, this time it was Amnesty International........A charity I have supported many times in the past.
