Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004)

...Like it's predecessor, this is a veritable masterpiece from director Mamoru Oshii. Visually, there's been an upgrade since the prequel with the inclusion of combined CGI with traditional manga, which looks impeccable. A fine example of the technique. The soundrack is by Kenji Kawai, and creates the perfect envirnoment for the story and characters, not to mention the enthralling musical spikes during expositional scenes. While the narrative is difficult to follow, like the first Ghost in the Shell, it's entertaining at the least and involved at the most. A good idea is to watch several times, to pick up all the different layers of information presented. The movie revolves around the same topic as the prequel, albeit much more deep. The humanity of machines. Again, several viewings will make the experience gain meaning...

...I'll start off by saying that this is the first Manga film I've sat down and watched all the way through. I've seen bit and pieces of other Manga films, but not the whole sch-bang. For a while now, I've heard people talking about Ghost In The Shell, about how it relates to The Matrix, and The Matrix Directors are big fans of this movie, so being a fan of The Matrix, I was interested in this, to see where the origional ideas came from. And I was impressed. If you're familiar with the Matrix, then watching and getting your head round the film shouldn't be a problem, but I found I had to concentrate carefully on the dialogue to understand what was going on, even so, there was still a few times I thought 'What the hells just happened?'. ...I knew I was taking a bit of a risk reading ?A Ghost at the Table?, as it does not fit in with the usual books I read. However, I like to extend my reading horizons at times, the blurb on the back of the book was quite intriguing and it had received a number of good reviews so there was a good deal of promise. I?m not going to say that I disliked the book, because I didn?t, but it just didn?t grab me in the way that lots of books do and as a consequence, I admit to finding it hard going. I hate to give up on a book though so I did stick with it but it was a bit hard work at times! ...I first tried this perfume as I wanted a fragrance which was light and fresh but not too citrus-y as I have found this scent turns sour after a while. I tried a number of perfumes before I found Ghost Sweetheart. It was quite different from what I would normally try as the packaging is very girly and feminine. The box is a soft pink colour and the perfume bottle is tall and slim, a light pinkish peach in colour with a frosted glass effect. The bottle is quite elegant and a handy shape to put into a makeup bag or handbag. As for the scent itself, it is light and floral and sweet-smelling without being sickly. The scent is not overpowering and makes for a great feminine summer time fragrance to wear during the day or at night.
