The Glasgow Celtic
Advantages: Attacking, quality football.
Disadvantages: None
...Celtic are once more beginning to look like a strong side with potential. Labelled as sleeping giants they have endured an extended period of domination from their Glasgow rivals Rangers. It looks as though Martin O' Neill has changed all of that and the league may not be the extent of our ambition anymore, the idea of being in Europe after Xmas has long been an unattainable dream but things are different now and although it would be rash to say that we will progress in the Champions League, under our new manager anything seems possible.
If You Know The History
The club was founded in 1888 and the trademark hoops strip was first introduced in 1903/04. Celtic became the first British club to lift the European cup in 1967, a feat that was all the more amazing as the Celtic team were all from within a few miles of the ground. We beat...

A shorter Celtic collection
Advantages: Good stories, nicely illustrated
Disadvantages: Very short
...Robert Van De Weyer has written and edited extensively in the area of Celtic literature and lore. In fact, he has two book entitled Celtic Parables, one longer one (approximately 250 pages) with full stories, arranged by categories, with an introduction and a good bibliography. The shorter one (64 pages) is more of a gift book, with brief excerpts from parables, done with an interesting graphic layout. This is a review of shorter book; I also plan to present one on the longer book in the not-too-distant future.
The shorter Celtic Parables bears the subtitle Hospitality, Humor and Holiness. Lavishly illustrated (as befits the designation of being a gift book), the categories are different here. After a brief introduction on the stories of the Celts, the arrangement is by person, not by topic:
- Patrick - Brigid - Brendan - Columba...

Café Hula - Great Homecooked Food in the Heart of Glasgow
Advantages: Great food, good value, handy for Theatre Royal, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service
Disadvantages: None really. But you might get undercharged!
...spotted the odd thespian here too (including John Savident (Coronation "Ashley, I say, Ashley" Street) who was starring in HMS Pinafore).
I am lead to believe that Café Hula is run by a husband and wife team, both of whom operate mainly back of house, although it has one of those fairly open dining/kitchen areas. It is a bustling and busy place but with a relaxing buzz; it has been busy on each occasion that we have eaten here (although that has been either Friday or Saturday early evening) and I would definitely recommend booking at the weekend to avoid disappointment.
We have only ever eaten here pre-theatre and each time it has been a very positive and enjoyable experience.
The staff are mainly young, and are enthusiastic, friendly and efficient. Some are from overseas, possibly students in Glasgow, and their...

Abode hotel glasgow.
Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Trendy. Perfect place to stay when you visit glasgow.
Disadvantages: NOT A THING.
...Well i must say what a wonderful hotel.
Me and my girlfriend booked a night at Abode glasgow on new years eve and loved it so much we booked a second night in the morning just after we enjoyed the best breakfast we had for years. We both live in glasgow but wanted a nice hotel to go back to after enjoying the new year celebrations in george square. We just could not be botherd with the hasle getting home. It is bad enough getting a taxi on a normal saturday night, think what it would be like with ten thousand all trying to get a taxi at the one time.
I loved the way the hotel has been decorated. It is very modern but they have kept alot of the old features. Including a very old life in the centre of the hotel, with a very modern water feature flowing right down the lift framework. I think it is fantastic that they have kept all...

cheap hotel in glasgow

...**** Argyll Hotel****
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it.
**Reception/staff**
The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff.
**Hotel/Room**
Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows .
**Other**
They...

Glasgow's Alive
Advantages: Vibrant, City of Culture
Disadvantages: None
...Gosh, I am bored this afternoon. It?s a holiday, and I feel I should be doing something, however my hubby is working all afternoon, and so I have been a little lazy. I even watched the Brazil Turkey match this morning, without being forced to. Anyway, continuing in the theme of Travel reviews, I would thought I would write about a town that is a little more closer to home that my last few opinions!
I live on the West Coast of Scotland, and it is about 45 minutes drive on a good day, to reach the town of Glasgow. I first moved to Scotland in 1993, and so I have had plenty of opportunity to sample the shopping, nightlife and culture in this town.
Getting to Glasgow
-----------------------
Well, if you like you can fly in. Glasgow International Airport is about twelve miles west of the city, and has great links via the M8...

My strange night in Glasgow
Advantages: Reasonably priced, good location, breakfast ok
Disadvantages: The staff, lack of digital TV
...~~~Intro~~~
Back in August everything was going fantastically, I'd been on a great barge holiday with friends, work was bearable, things with hubby good, and my self-injury charity work going amazingly.
I became aware of a self-harm conference in Glasgow on 18th October, and thought that it would be a great networking opportunity. After booking a place. I spent some time while bored at work searching on the Internet for a reasonably priced hotel in Glasgow within walking distance of the train station and the conference venue. There was quite a selection, but it seemed that the Merchant Lodge hotel would suit me nicely in terms of location and cost (£50 B&B).
A couple of weeks prior to the event, disaster struck in our charity (perhaps a year down the line when everything is sorted I will review what can go wrong in small...

One of the Best
Advantages: Great atmoshphere, Good seating, Great Facilities
Disadvantages: Looks a bit unbalanced, Parking
...Celtic Park (formely known as Parkhead, as the stadium may be found in the Parkhead area of Glasgow) boasts one of the best stadium atmospheres in the country. With the Celtic Superstore literaly yards away, you are sure to be able to find something that takes to your fancy. Also the food and drinks served at half time are just marvellous, the pies are up there with the best in Scotland.
With an all seating maximum capacity of 60,832 and an average attendance of 58,000 in each of the last 3 years, It is clear to say that no football experience is complete without the visiting of Celtic Park. The record attendane at Celtic park was in 1938 when there were about 92,000 fans in the stadium to see Celtic take on their bitter rivals Rangers. Even with the stadium being a near sell out every game, ticket availability is good. The club...

The Celtic Collection
Advantages: Beautiful and atmospheric
Disadvantages: Too short and not for everybody
...Before we start, a brief introduction to Celtic music.
Originally Irish and Scottish (well, the Ireland and Scotland, as well as parts of England, of Celtic times (think William Wallace aka Braveheart)), Celtic music is, generally, not as popular as most other forms of classical-based music. Although there are many instantly recognisable Celtic songs, as well as artists (such as Enya, Celtus, Maire Brennan), people know very little about this beautiful form of music.
Most Celtic songs have pipes, fiddles, powerful drumming, with maybe a bit of piano, guitar or even keyboards (like Celtus), as well as the Irish bagpipes and many strings offering sweet chords in the background. Quite often, there is also singing, either in English or, more traditionally, Celtic/Gailic. For this reason, I like to think Celtic music as a combination...

Hot and spicy in Glasgow
Advantages: Great food
Disadvantages: Not a huge selection
...A recent trip to Glasgow resulted in a couple of meals out, one of which was in The Wee Curry Shop along Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow. The Wee Curry Shop has three outlets in Glasgow: Ashton Lane, which is the West End's bar street and Buccleuch Street, which is near the Glasgow School of Art. I didn't visit either of the other two outlets, but friends who have claim that they are similar, with some differences in the menu.
Location:
41 Byres Street
Glasgow
Tel: 0141 339 1339
Website: http://www.weecurryshopglasgow.co.uk
This is near Hillhead underground station and is within 20 minutes walking distance of Hyndland overland train station.
Decor
